The Wrong Brother

Rock bottom has a basement—and I just found it.

I’ve been head over heels, write it in my diary over and over in love with my best friend Preston Young, pretty much my entire life.

You’d think after decades of hiding my feelings I’d want to reveal my lifelong secret love to my best friend privately, but NOPE.
As the queen of ridiculously grand romantic gestures,
I chose a Jerry Springer style television reveal.

I’ll spare you the anxiety inducing details and just say, it didn’t...work out the way I thought it would.
Cue crawling into a deep dark hole of wine, ice cream and sad ass movies.
I’m never showing my face again.

Okay, so maybe he stormed off the stage and rejected me on live television.
And maybe when his older brother came over to comfort me...I kissed him.
So much for getting my sh*t together.

It was just a kiss.
And then a few more.
And then so many toe-curling O’s my brains are permanently scrambled.

One minute I’m pining for my best friend,
The next I’m falling for his brother,
And to make matters worse...now my best friend thinks he might be in love with me?
I didn’t know it was even possible to screw up this bad.

Am I destined to make one giant laughable mistake out of my life,
Or did I miss what’s been right in front of me this entire time?

MAy the force be with you if you attempt this book. Torture. This could be used to make POWs spill nation secrets.

Giggle. Text. Turn off alarm. Start coffee. Muse about her kitchen remodel. Pour coffee. Apply $80 moisturizer. Fix honey blonde hair. Brush teeth. Get dressed. Pour to-go coffee. Walk to garage. Toss everything in her Honda Civic and start it up. Open garage door. Back car out. Close garage door. Cue daydreaming about a daydream from her youth. Arrive at office. Donuts and more coffee before turning on computer. Call mom to discuss grills being built and sheets that may need to be trashed after Aunt Beth and Uncle Peter got freaky last time they stayed. Cue detailed physical description of said aunt and uncle. Oh, Gawd… now we are back to daydreaming about being 16 and the one kiss she shared with the BFF.

^^^ I can’t make this shit up. Read the sample, and do try not to pass out from exhaustion.

^^^^ Listen, I’ve read thousands of books, and I don’t think I have ever come across a book so f’ing determined to bore you to death within the first 10 pages. How this book’s word count isn’t up there with Marcel Proust’s Remembrance of Things Past ??? I dont know. HOW? How will this book go anywhere in 220 pages when the author insists on detailing every single damn tiniest move this poor character makes? How? I can’t tell you if it ever delivers the cute, funny other reviews rave about because I cannot make it through the quicksand of mundane bullshit this begins with~

I liked the characters and found the book pretty engaging. The book felt rushed to me though.

We start with Piper finally taking action to reveal her feelings to Preston who she's crushed on forever. Sounds great. Then we're introduced to brother Calvin who's crushed on Piper for a long time. Interesting story. This is where the problems start to come.

I'm left not really believing Piper doesn't still love Preston. I'm also left believing Preston may love Piper. There's tons of interesting material exploring that but instead we wrap Piper up in a bow with Calvin and don't really explore any of it. Instead, we're to believe that despite having two kisses where Piper did feel chemistry with Preston, that magically changes once she sleeps with Calvin. Also, a large part of Preston's rationale for why he doesn't think he's should love Piper is flawed. His belief, which is reinforced by brother Calvin (major conflict of interest), is that he doesn't want to ruin their friendship. Hello, once either of you falls for someone else, your friendship is radically changing anyway. It's too rational. Add to that the parents chiming in with what a good couple looks like and I'm kind of annoyed. Love is emotional and not rational. Show me why they fit or don't fit. Don't project that they shouldn't care because it won't work.

Too much emotion was left unexplored. I found it hard to follow what was driving Piper. Unless she loves both men, and it's implied its one at a time, I don't understand her radical transitions in feelings. I also think the story would have benefited from backstory or a prologue where we understand this three way relationship in high school. Some of the actions we do hear about are strange choices (e.g., Piper helping Preston get dates, Preston skinny dipping with Piper, Calvin kissing Piper after her prom). What were the characters really thinking?

I'll also add a few small decisions the author made that chewed away at the believability of the overall story. Piper, Calvin and Preston all live in Chicago. Yet, it seems they leave the doors to their home and office unlocked. We know this because Preston constantly walks in on Piper and Piper lets herself into Calvin's closed office. NO WAY do I believe they'd leave it unlocked or want people walking in. Also, Calvin has a penthouse in downtown Chicago. I also doubt this is feasible for where he's at in his career. Lastly, what is it with showing them relying on the pull-out method when they don't believe it works?

Calvin and Piper got lots of flack for rushing a marriage. It was way too rushed, like the book, and I can only hope it works out since a kid came early.

this book, I couldn't make it more than a few pages in before I had to "toss" it to the side. It is so poorly written it is painful to read. no real connection to the characters and disliked one character very much. I expect the main characters to be likeable for the most part but that didn't occur. I don't care for characters who do stupid things they know are stupid but the writer has them do them anyways just to get the story to continue. I don't care for it in books or movies.

Overall I liked this book. Piper has been in love with Preston forever. She finally tells him how she feels and things got messy. She ends up with his brother Calvin instead. Truthfully things were better between her and Calvin. He was always the one there to pick up the pieces for her when his brother broke her. Thankfully in the end they get their happy ending.

I was feeling somewhat bereft after the ending of the Slade Brother series and wondered how the amazing Ms Winter could top that, well I really shouldn't have worried. If the rest of the Love You Forever series is even half as good as the first offering, I will not be disappointed.

Piper, Calvin and Preston's story is charming, funny and entertaining, with a HEA and enough steam to make your toes curl. Piper has been in love with her best friend Preston for forever, but he doesn't feel the same way about her ~ or does he? After a drunken kiss Piper decides to profess her love for Preston on a reality show, but things don't go exactly as she'd hoped. There to pick up the pieces, as he's always been is Calvin, Preston's older brother, and with something of a light bulb moment, Piper realises that it's not Preston who makes her stomach flip and pulse race, but the more mature Calvin, who's also in love with her. At first Piper and Calvin hide their burgeoning relationship, not only from Preston but also their families, who are also the best of friends, but after being outed in fairly spectacular and hilarious fashion at the families' 4th July party the book follows their relationship and how the platonic relationship between Piper and Preston continues.

I loved how the book explored how true love can be right under your nose, you just need the right situation to realise it.

I received this book as an ARC from the author, and am more that happy to review it. Now I've just got to wait for the rest of the series............

This is the 1st in a new series and what a wonderful beginning this is! Piper has been in love with her best friend since childhood and she professes her love for Preston on a reality show but is heartbroken when he informs her that he does not reciprocate her feelings. Calvin is his older brother and he is there to comfort Piper, and they start a relationship but keep it under wraps from their family and friends, until they are outed in a hilarious fashion at their families 4th July party. This is a well written story which is fun, humorous, entertaining and a steamy read. I was intrigued throughout and look forward to reading more from this author whose work I recommend for all.

I thought this was a very good book, but to be completely honest, I was looking for some drama, there really wasn't any in this book. No major drama anyway. It was a good story though and I would recommend reading it if you want a good, happily ever after book to read!

The author pulls us into the lives of the characters and does not let go. Piper has been crushing on Preston for years, even though it is his brother, Calvin, that has always been there for her. Things will never be the same when she shares her feelings.

A 3.5 fun love triangle

Piper has been in love with her best friend Preston forever. Preston's older brother Calvin has been in love with Piper for just as long.

All comes to a head when she reveals her feelings on a tv show and Preston basically rejects her. Preston doesn't want to ruin their friendship
When Piper begins to spend more time with Calvin it becomes his turn to shine and confess to Piper his feelings that he has kept hidden.

A fun rom-com. Predictable, Piper gave too much away with her inner thoughts so you knew what was coming.
It was a little wordy, very descriptive writing but I did enjoy it.

Told in first person pov. Available in KU
Leads to a hea.

Not sure if I would read more books by this author, I wasn't pulled in where I desperately feel like I have to get the next book because again theres too much is revealed as to what the next book is about but never say never.

Got this book on my for you page on TikTok. I wanted Wattpad Summer I Turned Pretty vibes just for fun. I do not know what I expected beyond that.

Ironically the part that took me most of it was that their mother in a happy marriage to the main character’s father caught the bouquet—like why is she out there on the floor any way? Girl…

Another one with good plot potential but not execution. The pacing was off - too fast where it mattered and drug out where it didn’t. While I appreciate low drama books on occasion, this needed something - I mean it was a love triangle and there was like no angst.

2.5 stars. I really thought I'd enjoy the book more than I actually did when I read the blurb. There were some errors and inconsistencies in the story. Also for the first part of the story, I didn't really enjoy reading about Piper and Preston basically just getting wasted and doing stupid stuff when they're together. Sure that might be something you do in your late teens but surely they would have grown up by the time they're both working? The amount of time Piper gets drunk in the first few chapters is actually ridiculous and got me worrying about alcohol liver cirrhosis....

In terms of the story, the author didn't convince me that Piper was in love with the other brother all along and was just blind to it because she of how the two kisses they had shared were described. As for Preston not feeling anything for her, that also doesn't seem to ring true, as he told Calvin they were the best kisses he'd had... So for Piper and Calvin to just jump into a relationship on the same night that Piper and Preston address her confession on the TV program, it just seems more like a rebound move than a 'she just realised she's been in love with him all along' kind of moment...

Also... Does the author have a thing for honey blonde hair and soft curls?

I actually have a few books from this author that I haven't read yet, but will give it another shot after reading some other books first. Hopefully I will enjoy those more than this one..

I have to confess that I am struggled to read the first few chapters because I think Piper is drinking way too much for my liking. And when the author wrote them like she drinks too much and then can go out like she doesn't hangovers I feel like it doesn't make any sense. Beside that both Piper and Preston's behaviors are so immature. I know, I know that Piper says they are on vacation but I am still not impressed. However, I also can't deny that the story is interesting and Calvin is swoon-worthy. I like Piper with Calvin more than when she is with Preston so I decide to give the book 4 stars.

Read the same first, I didn't and I regret the five pages I tried to slog through.
Every minute moment of her day was categorize: pulled shirt down over thighs, grabbed coffee, put on $80 moisturizer, finished coffee, brushed teeth, poured coffee in a to go mug, put laptop and purse on passenger side of Honda civic, got a text, ruminate on crush, truck honks, arrive at work, detail job and goals, get call from mom.

I gave up. It was bad. Painfully bad.

Right Girl, So Move Over Brother

Piper Montgomery has loved Preston Young since they were 5 years old. He was her best friend, her partner-in-crime, and the secret crush of her childhood, adolescence and young adult years. The only problem was that he did not love her—not in the ways that she wanted. She was “in love” with her best friend and while he loved her as a best friend, it broke her heart that he did not return her passion—he appeared to be oblivious of her “in love” feelings. And, it hurt that he was engaged in revolving door relationships with countless girls, but never thought of her as a possible girlfriend, only as his best friend. So, her only recourse was to enjoy his company as a best friend and to dream of the day that he could see her as the woman whom he desired—a woman with whom he could hook up, not merely hang out.

Calvin Young, Preston’s older brother by 4 years had watched the relationship between his younger brother, Preston, and Piper for over 20 years. Living across the street from the Montgomery’s, he had been the one who had had to wipe Piper’s tears caused by his brother’s clueless cruelty as Preston carried on with other girls. Calvin had always been there to comfort and soothe Piper’s distress at Preston’s vagaries, when the truth was that Calvin was the one “in love” with Piper.

But now, as adults working and living in Chicago, Piper has decided to force Preston to hear and acknowledge her love. And, after watching a local late-night show, “Reveal Your Secret,” she knows how. She applies to tell her secret on TV, and amazingly, her story is accepted. So, on the designated day, she convinces Preston to accompany her to the TV studio, luring him with the false claim that the show’s purpose is the promote “jobs you never knew you wanted,” which certainly described Preston’s job as a statistician for the Cubs. But, when Piper shares her secret with the studio audience—and eventually the whole TV viewing audience—greater Chicago--everything falls apart. Preston does not confess his love as Piper had anticipated. Rather, he walks off the TV set and out of the studio, once more leaving Piper hurt and tearful, telling her to take a taxi home! Piper’s plan to make Preston confront and acknowledge his feelings for her before an audience of strangers, and ultimately, all of Chicago, has failed!

And, as in the past Calvin, the older brother, is there with his support and comfort, attempting to dry Piper’s tears and to calm her aching heart. Maybe this time, rather than wasting her tears and energy on Preston, a man who is too afraid to accept her love, she’ll notice the man whose heart she already owns—the heart of Preston’s steady, responsible older brother, Calvin.

The Wrong Brother begins the story of two families united in friendship, proximity, and now, possibly love. The novel weaves a strong storyline with interesting characters and electrifying emotional connections. This first novel provides the romantic developments of a family with secrets and unresolved relationships that need to be addressed to bring happiness and healing to all members of the family. Each novel can be read independently, but the Montgomery’s and Young's are so engaging that you will want to know each member and his story.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review ARCS, but I enjoyed the reading experience so much that I bought a copy for my "read-again" titles.

She is going home to tell him. Piper Montgomery, has been best friends with Preston Young since Kindergarten. But the fact of the matter is that somewhere along the way she fell in love with him, and she’s tired of being in limbo. The problem I see the minute the two of them are together, they become raging alcoholics seems toxic to me. As you read, it doesn't appear to be anything new, and neither was getting picked up by the sheriff in the past. Everyone just looks upon it as teenage angst. Hello, but their twenty-five now. Preston is known to Piper as an attention-seeking man-whore, but does she truly understand it?

I get that the heart wants what the heart wants. But he left her on their prom night where they went together as a couple, or she saw it that way. He left her alone during the after-party to go into a room with his ex. Now mind you, this was the night she had first planned on telling him how she felt before they both headed off to different colleges. Why did she think that would be good when he was a horn-dog-er? That night she left the party in the limo and went to his backyard to sit by the pool. Where she finds Calvin Young, Preston’s older brother, the one she could always talk to or cry on his shoulder, mostly about his brother.

However, on this night something changed for him. He saw his brother’s best friend as something more to him. Once he reassured her it's not her at all, that this all lands back on his brother. He is not in a place in life where he can commit to cereal let alone a girl. Preston won’t ever see her romantically because he’s too afraid of losing her and the special bond they have as friends. Because as she sat there crying and doubting her self-worth and feeling ugly, he kissed her. This becomes a love triangle with not all the players knowing about the other.

So here we go so get those scorecards out. You may need them, but you will have to read the book to find out if Preston protests too much, if Calvin waits too long before stepping in, or if Piper is delusional about her expectations when it comes to what she wants from and for the brothers. Preston has a Peter Pan mentality. Let's have fun 24/7, and if that includes kissing Piper every once in and while so be it. Piper had this thing in her head from her teens saying she was in love with Preston. So when she was around Preston instead of creating the narrative like she would do at her job where she is fearless.

She gets dictated the narrative where she gets blurred into Preston’s story where she is doing old and outdated things. Calvin has gotten so used to not being even a part of the narrative that he has become comfortable with his brother taking all the limelight. Hence, when Piper asked which one of them would dance with her, he didn't want to move in too soon, so he let Preston. Not know the fast song would turn into a slow one. And by the time the waitress brings him his drink and he looks back at the dance floor Preston and Piper are kissing. Missed opportunities. Starts a whole new train wreck. Such a good story with great twists and turns.

Piper had been in love with her best friend Preston since she was old enough to know what a crush was. Preston and his older brother Calvin grew up across the street from Piper, and all three hung out together since they were little. Piper and Preston had similar Devil may care attitudes and were often found laughing at their own antics. Calvin was much a more reserved, studious type. As they grew up, Calvin became the shoulder Piper would cry on whenever Preston broke her heart, which happened again and again. Piper’s brother was 10 years older than her, so he wasn’t around to protect her, and Calvin became her surrogate big brother.

Calvin went off to college and became a successful attorney with his own practice, Preston worked in sports as an IT professional, and Piper worked as a writer for a home improvement magazine. Piper and Preston got together on occasion when they would both go home to visit their parents. They party hard, and inevitably Preston flirts with every woman but the one who only has eyes for him. During one long weekend home, Calvin decides to join them. He hasn’t seen Piper in a very long time, and when he does, his heart is lost. He has always wanted Piper as his girlfriend, but never wanted to come between her and his brother, so he has stood on the sidelines and watched Piper get hurt over and over, until she comes to him to cry on his shoulders.

Will Piper ever open her eyes and see the man who loves her, or will Preston finally realize that his best friend is the woman he should spend the rest of his life with. There are some funny moments in this book, along with steam, heartbreak, and a love meant to last forever.

I got this from the KU LIbrary.

This starts with Piper finishing an article for her magazine before heading home to her parents for the weekend where she joins up with her best friend of the last 20 years or so Preston - who she's got the biggest crush on, too. After a drunken kiss, and while still drunk she applies to be on a TV show where she will confess her feelings to him but things don't go down well at all and she ends up running to Preston's brother, Calvin, who's also her close friend. Things take an unexpected turn when she ends up sleeping with Calvin and feelings that have always been there bubble back up to the surface.

I liked this. I don't quite know how to put my feelings into words with this one, though. I laughed out loud a handful of times but I did feel like things moved quickly with these two. It was a quick read, really, but their romance only takes up about 55% of the book after the whole pining for Preston thing and that includes their wedding. Hmm. Don't get me wrong, it was super cute when they did get together and they had some lovely moments but they also had a lot of sex. I have nothing against sex in my romances but these two felt like they were at it like rabbits.

I loved both Piper's and Calvin's parents with their weed smoking in the garage and the joint baking and drinking parties and how they reacted to everything. The swearing about odd-jobs they had to do and their joking around, etc.

Preston had grown on me a little by the end of this, he was no longer being the idiot and/or man-whore and had started to get a little more serious so I may be tempted into reading the next book in the series which focuses on him. But not right now.

Preston was her best friend but her heart belonged to his brother.

Preston and Piper have best friends since kindergarten. They have been two partners in crime. Getting into mischief and getting drunk. They seem to get in trouble for as long as they can remember. She always wondered if it could someday be more.
Calvin, Preston's older brother, is more reserved and the responsible person of the three.
One night, she watched a show similar to Jerry Springer. She gets a brainstorm to have Preston go on the show to talk about his job. She doesn't tell him the real reason. When she confronts him about his feelings, he storms out on live TV.
She is hurt by his reaction. She goes to Calvin. Just like she has over the years. She doesn't know that Calvin has always had feelings for Piper. He loves her but she doesn't know that. He holds her through her tears and talks her down from her humiliation. He takes a chance and gives her a kiss. She realized she had feelings for him, too.
She doesn't want to lose her friendship with Preston, but she is falling for Calvin. They have the chemistry together. How are they going to tell Preston about their feelings.
They all go home for the 4th of July for the family picnic weekend.
Calvin and Piper have a hard time keeping their hands off of each other. As you would expect, who walks in on them, but Preston. He's upset and wants to head home. But they explained to him that they didn't plan on falling in love, but it happened.
Preston feels left out and that he is losing his best friend. She told him he would always be her friend, but she loves Calvin.
Many funny things about these three people and how they work it out so everyone wins.

The Wrong Brother is the first book in the Love You Forever series by Alexis Winter. Piper Montgomery has been in love with her best friend Preston Young pretty much her entire life. After a drunken kiss, Piper finally decides to tell Preston she loves him in front of an audience. It doesn’t quite go the way she was hoping and she is comforted by Preston’s older brother Calvin- just like she always had been. Only now she is starting to see that just maybe she’s had feelings for the wrong brother the whole time.

I absolutely loved this book! Piper is such a fun character and Calvin is SO sweet and definitely has the swoon factor. The crazy antics that Piper and Preston get into made me laugh- really showcasing why they are such great friends. Calvin is much more reserved and more straight laced but he is so caring and knowing about Piper’s lifelong crush on his brother- he takes things at her pace despite wanting that relationship for so long himself, basically making him the perfect guy. There was the perfect blend of humor and steamy scenes that made the flow of the book just right. Their story drew me in and I couldn’t put it down. It moved a little quick in some aspects of the story with quite a few time jumps but at the same time it was at the perfect speed since this isn’t a super long book (all the more perfect to read it in one sitting!) The epilogue also perfectly set up the premise for the next book- I know I am definitely looking forward to Preston and Riley’s story!

The Best Kind of Love Triangle 🥰

This is the first book I've read by Alexis Winter, and I'm so glad I did! The story of Piper, Preston, and Calvin was well worth the read. It has some funny parts that will make you LOL ( that part with the sausage!), and other parts that will give you the feels.

Piper's had a crush on her BFF Preston since they were kids. But Preston's only ever seen Piper as a friend. She's sat back and watched as he hooked up with girl after girl, wishing he would see her as something more.

And then there was Calvin. Preston's older brother that was always there for her when she needed him. There to pick up the pieces of Piper's broken heart when she would breakdown from being looked over by Preston once again.

Meanwhile, Calvin sees Piper for the beautiful, funny, spectacular girl she is. Wishing she would just open her eyes to finally see what's in front of her, and the feelings he has for her. Feeling crushed every time he builds Piper back up, just to see her go running back to his brother who he knows will never love her the way she loves him.

But maybe everything really does happen for a reason, and it's all just about timing. So what happens when Piper and Calvin do make a go of it? Is he just a replacement for his brother who she'll never have? Or does Piper love him for the man he he is? And how will Preston react if, and when he finds out? Great story! I can't wait to read Preston's story next!

Which Brother Does She Truly Love?

Piper, Preston & Calvin have been the best of pals since they were kids. Piper & Preston are the same age & tend to get into trouble (a lot) while growing up. Calvin is the responsible older brother & cares deeply for Piper whenever his younger brother hurts her. She always runs to Calvin to cry on his shoulder. Not interfering in the one-sided crush & he lets things run their course. When Piper pulls a surprise from Preston, she's faced with the truth & opens her eyes, seeing Preston will always be a best friend & not 'husband material'. Calvin is there for her & she finds that even though they are so different, she loves how he's the gentleman & treats her like a princess. A HEA made for a loving couple.

"The Wrong Brother" is book #1 of this series & wow, it covers all the bases for a great romance novel! Their chemistry is hot off the charts & their time together is loving & so tender. The rest of this series will continue with more page-turning, 'can't put this one down', 'just one more chapter' novels -- just like this one was for me! I highly recommend this novel as your next read & to continue with the next ones in this series!

I received this ebook ARC from the author on the condition that I write an honest review.
I’ve read several books written by Alexis Winter, and I’ve enjoyed everyone of them. Her characters are always well developed and entertaining with a beautiful romance. This story was about a fun loving brother vs a more mature settled brother. The female had thought that she was in love with the fun loving brother, until she realized that she actually loved and needed the more mature brother.
Preston and Piper had been close friends since childhood, and they were known for doing wild irresponsible things. Piper thought that she loved him, until she goes on TV to tell him about her love for him, it’s then she realizes that he only loves her as his best friend.
Calvin has also known Piper since childhood and has loved her, but he understands about her feelings for his brother, so he just is there for her when needed. After the TV show airs, he goes to console Piper, and things begin to get a little heated between them.
Piper and Calvin realize that they share the same feelings for each other and begin a close relationship and this leads to their HEA. An HEA involving Calvin and Piper, and now Preston and Riley.
I recommend any book written by Ms. Winter.

Piper and Preston have bee best friends since childhood. They always have loads of fun together and manage to find trouble in the process, nothing too serious though. Calvin is Preston's older brother, part of their little trio until he moved away after college. He was always the serious, more subdued brother. Piper started to have feelings for Preston back in high school, but she was always afraid to tell him. She watched him date other girls and always cried on Calvin's shoulder. He was always there to comfort her. As she harbored feelings for Preston, Calvin harbored feelings for her.
Now as adults, Piper decides, after way too many drinks, that she will tell Preston she loves him, in a grand gesture. However, if it doesn't go well, will she lose her best friend forever? Will Calvin be there to lift her up again? And will she finally notice that maybe the brother who is in love with her may not be the one she thought she could make a future with?
I really enjoyed this story, it was a lot of fun and the characters were so likable!!

Piper has been best friends with Preston since they were five years old. Growing up together across the street from each other alongside his older brother Calvin. Over the years Piper has developed a crush on Preston and whilst they have so much fun together, they have never crossed the lines of friendship - apart from one kiss during spin the bottle. As they head home for the weekend to visit their parents she is hoping to move out of the friend zone. Until Preston answers a call from Calvin on the drive and suddenly her body is responding to the sound of his voice in a way it has never done before.

Calvin has always been there for Piper, as Preston's older brother he has been with them whilst they have done fun stuff etc. As well as been there to pick up the pieces when Preston gets a new girl in his life and Piper doesn't understand why he never notices her. Following a drunk kiss between Piper and Preston, she applied for a share your secret show to confess everything to him. It doesn't go well, leaving Calvin to pick up the pieces once again.

But is Piper just showing affection to Calvin because Preston doesn't want her? Calvin has loved Piper for so long, is this his chance in the spotlight? What will Preston say about their relationship?

The push and pull of two best friends Piper and Preston and then you throw in the older brother Calvin. You can feel Piper's dilemma when she has been in love with her best friend forever. You feel her struggle of not wanting to loose her best friend; however, she is so pulled to Preston and him always in her life, she hesitates to say anything about her feelings. Why is one drunken night always the turning point. Not only does she decide to confide her feelings to Preston, but she decides to do this in a public setting. With how much Piper talks about her feelings for Preston, it is surprising how her love life changes, for the better. Calvin is waiting in the wings to comfort Piper; however, does the comfort open Piper's eyes to someone new or does this push her closer to her best friend? You can't miss reading this story and loosing yourself in all the love and friendship. Alexis Winter does not disappoint with the chemistry that jumps off the page. I loved the ending and how it transitioned to a new love story. I can't wait for the next book in this series.
