About the author

J.A. Huss never wanted to be a writer and she still dreams of that elusive career as an astronaut. She originally went to school to become an equine veterinarian but soon figured out they keep horrible hours and decided to go to grad school instead. That Ph.D wasn’t all it was cracked up to be (and she really sucked at the whole scientist thing), so she dropped out and got a M.S. in forensic toxicology just to get the whole thing over with as soon as possible.

After graduation she got a job with the state of Colorado as their one and only hog farm inspector and spent her days wandering the Eastern Plains shooting the shit with farmers. After a few years of that, she got bored. And since she was a homeschool mom and actually does love science, she decided to write science textbooks and make online classes for other homeschool moms. She wrote more than two hundred of those workbooks and was the number one publisher at the online homeschool store many times, but eventually she covered every science topic she could think of and ran out of shit to say.

So in 2012 she decided to write fiction instead. That year she released her first three books and started a career that would make her a New York Times bestseller and land her on the USA Today Bestseller’s List eighteen times in the next three years. Her books have sold millions of copies all over the world, the audio version of her semi-autobiographical book, Eighteen, was nominated for a Voice Arts Award and an Audie award in 2016 and 2017 respectively, her audiobook Mr. Perfect was nominated for a Voice Arts Award in 2017, and her book, Taking Turns, was nominated for an Audie Award in 2018. Johnathan McClain is her first (and only) writing partner and even though they are worlds apart in just about every way imaginable, it works.

She lives on a ranch in Central Colorado with her family.

Ja Huss didn't disappoint with this Older man/younger woman taboo treat. So steamy and I loved how complete this book was. I can't wait for Wild Thing now!

Gah, I'm sad this is as of right now, the last "naughty thing" of the series. I really enjoyed these shorter reads. While out of the three, this one was my least favorite, but the story line still had a twist to it. I think I might have work my way through Julie's backlist, her books are so different. I look forward to more.

With this series of three standalones, JA Huss explored sweet, slightly taboo/frobidden, short stories.
I didn't feel the same about all tree as they all are completely different.
My favorite was Wild Thing, that blew my mind and sent me back into the author's twisted world. Comes next Pretty Thing, that had me crying the ugliest tears and filled my heart with love. Sweet Things comes last, I didn’t finish it, couldn’t related to the characters and the tone of the story.

Pretty Thing (5 Stars)
Just Wow Julie! This touched my heart! Kali, her twin Kyle and Aiden. They were thick as thieves growing up but nothing good lasts forever when Kali loses half her soul. When loss makes Aiden & Kali want to find comfort in each other can they follow their hearts or will Kyle’s parting warning to his friend be enough to keep them apart. When you grow up sometimes feelings turn into more than friends & falling for his best friends twin sister wasn’t part of the plan. Neither was losing Kyle though. This was a beautifully touching friends to lovers story about loss, grieving, love and finding yourself again. Have a few tissues for this one. Told in dual POV

Sweet Thing (5 Stars)
Do you like taboo older man/younger woman romances? Yes, well then this one is for you!! Ryker North...drummer...Real-estate developer...oh and Aria Amherst’s father’s new client. He’s 35 & she is about to graduate high school, but age is just a number right. Aria has to fill in for her sister at the Co-op’s board meeting and there she meets the sexy, much older Ryker looking to rent space. When these two become neighbors at the co-op all bets are off! These two are STEAMY together with all the naughty firsts you can imagine! This book was amazing!! Told in dual POV

Wild Thing (5 Stars)
Get Ready For This Clever, Steamy, Dirty Read!! Mason Macintyre is a bounty hunter hired to kidnap and tame Lyssa Baylor for a forced prearranged marriage. Little does Mason soon learn her nickname “wild thing” is so very true and trying to tame her is easier said than done. Will he be able to actually tame this wild rich “princess” or will he enjoy getting her to submit a little too much? What secrets are hidden that Lyssa is being forced into a marriage? This book is a fast read and but doesn’t skimp on the Heat Factor or the twists! Such a enjoyable book that has a major twist you won’t see coming! Told in dual POV Another Winner from Julie!!!

All 3 books are must reads!

Here are my thoughts...

Pretty Thing:

Only J.A. Huss can make me cry, make me laugh and make me fan myself, all while reading one book! But with Pretty Thing, she did all that and so much more. I didn't know what to expect with this poignant tale of 3 friends and the way life moves forward when the trio becomes a duo. And yeah, it had been years since Kali, her twin brother Kyle and their best friend Aiden were all together but the bonds they created from the first time they met at the tender age of eight could never truly be severed. Not even when life throws them all a curveball and Kali and Aiden are left to pick up the pieces and hopefully find a way to move on.

Wow. This is one powerful little read. There is a deep sadness at the loss that has been suffered by Kali and Aiden and yet all the underlying feelings they have had for the other come racing back to the surface. But do they go against Kyle's wishes? Do they continue to long for the other and do nothing about it? Oh my, it's one big messy situation and yet Huss manages to carefully allow Kali and Aiden to sort through their grief and find some semblance of peace, no matter the cost.

Sweet Thing:

I am totally enjoying these dirty little treats from J.A. Huss with Sweet Thing the latest to titillate me in the very best way! We have one very sexy, tattooed businessman in the 35 year-old Ryker North and the innocent, freshly 18 year-old sweet thing that is Aria Amherst. There is an immediate heat between them right from the start and it's one wild ride going forward. Although Ryker starts off as a bit of a pompous arse with a penchant for young women, Aria's sweetness changes him quickly, wanting to leave his manwhore ways behind. The juxtaposition of her innocence to his worldly ways was intense and yet had a tenderness that was unexpected by both of them.

I loved that Ryker seemingly found his forever when he wasn't looking and treated Aria and her inexperience in a touching way that even surprised him. The added complexity that he was doing business with her father added a complication that clearly set the course for a presumed disaster. Therefore, I wasn't sure they could really make this work, thinking Ryker would just move on after taking what he wanted from Aria. But they have a real burgeoning love that is enhanced by extremely erotic trysts that had me very overheated and happily so.

Wild Thing:

Just when I think J.A. Huss can't surprise me with a new twist in her writing, she goes and gives us Wild Thing! I guess I just expected a shorter book that has the heat and wit Huss is known for with an easy-going storyline to match. Oh but how foolish I was to think that. She delivers a sexy, albeit a bit crazy kind of romp that has an intriguing mystery attached to it that I could not put down.

This tale of Lyssa Baylor and the man who would turn her already unsteady world upside down had me at page one. Here I figured that Mason Macintyre would do what he was paid for, (for the record, so did he) and make sure that Lyssa was back in her mansion, getting ready to marry just like her stepfather wanted. But Wild Thing and the Princess Hunter never in a million years could have predicted they would fall for the other and in turn change both of their lives forever.

I thoroughly enjoyed the fast pace, the smart humor and the tenderness that is perfectly placed and appreciated. Lyssa and Mason are an unexpected pairing that in the end is exactly what the other both needed despite the surprises that keep coming their way.

Well worth your time, this collection is all kinds of sexy, sweet and smart from beginning to end.

Pretty Thing -

Wow. What an exceptionally moving look at love and loss and how the two can make or break us. This isn’t the kind of book I expect from Julie. Not that she can’t do sweet - she just proved that she really, really can - but usually there’s mystery, suspense, twists and turns, and a dash of some dark.
This book is all heart. I can’t tell you the number of times I teared up reading it. The emotion is so raw, the grief is so real. And tangled up in it is this incredible story about second chances and a lifelong love. I really don’t know what else to say. It moved me on a level I wasn’t expecting. And Kyle’s voice through it all? Almost guiding the story... just. Wow.

Sweet Thing -

Oh my gooooooosh!!! This explosive combination of sweet and filthy was everything!
I am absolutely loving these shorter, sweeter reads of Julie’s. Now, that is not to say that I don’t also love her dark and twisties, but there’s something refreshing about taking a light detour.
Plus... age gap. This one is an age gap, and I looooove me an age gap. But in typical form, it’s almost a step further because *shock horror* Aria is only just Eighteen AND still in high school. Double. Whammy. Or... maybe it’s a triple whammy because Ryker is thirty-five... I’m sorry, I’ll stop harping on. I love age gap. The end.
Okay, so let’s talk about how those things right there could have made this story seedy AF, but actually took the notion of age and flipped it on its head. Because instead of a ‘middle-aged’ guy taking advantage of a teenager that you might expect to see, it’s kind of the opposite. In fact, what starts as a one-night stand morphs into said older man trying to pursue an honest, deeper relationship.
Plus, his respect of family. Omg. This guy might have had a past, but he’s a guy trying not to let Aria repeat his mistakes, and it was seriously everything.
There’s not one part of this story that I didn’t love. And I was so blown away by how different it was to every other age gap story. So well done, so enjoyable. I was pretty sad to get to the end.

Wild Thing -

Oh wow! These short, sweet stories are so much fun, but this one definitely lives up to its name, taking a dive into the wild. It was a bit twisty, a bit mind-effy, a bit more classic Julie. But no less on the sweet side.
I love this play on the good guy doing the wrong thing for the right reasons... or, his reasons anyway. And the trapped, lost princess who recognizes that she should be able to save herself but just... can’t.
Mason and Lyssa’s chemistry is explosive immediately, although always tinged with not quite being sure it’s genuine. Is Mason just playing along to get his money? Is Lyssa manipulating the truth with her claims?
It’s all very up in the air throughout the book, and all you can really do is trust your own feelings and hang on for the ride. Despite a couple of truly icky moments - perfectly well done, mind you - this book was once again another interesting, sexy read with a lot of heart.

There's something for everyone in this steamy collection from JA Huss!

Sweet Thing:

This is one scorching hot taboo treat. It's fast, fun and erotic...and thoroughly satisfying!  Ryker is the kind of book boyfriend I dream about. Unapologetic about his proclivity for younger women, he sees sweet Aria and makes claiming her his focus. Nothing prepares him for Aria's sassiness and sexuality. She might be inexperienced, but she's tasting freedom for the first time, and she's going after what she wants...Ryker.
I loved their banter...smart and sexy dialogue that highlighted their age-gap. For me, that made the story seem genuine. Aria's reactions and comments were appropriate for her age, though she showed the kind of maturity a privileged and intelligent young woman might show. This pair was so well written. The story, the characters, the heat...it's so, so tempting.

Wild Thing:

In signature JA Huss style, Wild Thing is suspenseful and erotic. Darker than the other Naughty Things books, it might be my favorite of the series.
Mason is delicious. He's a bad boy bounty hunter with one goal...return the spoiled runaway wild child to her father in exchange for a much-needed paycheck. He's so sure he knows everything he needs to know about Lyssa, aka Wild Thing. But of course, this is JA Huss, so nothing is quite what it seems...
Lyssa has escaped her father's machinations for the past few years, but she's run out of luck with Mason (who just happens to be the most attractive guy she's ever seen). Their attraction is intense, but he has a job to do and she needs a plan to escape her fate. My lord, this book is hot and I couldn't get enough of this couple!
I was spellbound to the end, and loved when all the secrets started to unravel. It's a wildly good read!

Pretty Thing:

You know the term ALL THE FEELS? Well, this book is a shining example of...ALL THE FEELS!! I smiled, I cried, I felt what the characters were going through every step of the way. I can't ask for more from an author than what JA Huss gave me with Pretty Thing.
This book is near perfection with all the heart and emotion it delivers...and it wouldn't be a Huss story without some mindblowing passion! 5 perfect stars for the hot and sexy scenes, the wonderful characters, the unique spin on a brother's best friend story, and all the heart wrenching emotion my soul could handle.

Three books in one steamy box set! I've read all three of these books individually and they are SO good!!

Pretty Thing: What an emotional read this was! Pretty Thing was a departure from the type of storyline we usually get from JA Huss but it was still classic Huss all the way through. This one is more of a classic contemporary romance, injected with Julie's usual punch in the gut realism.

I wasn't sure what to expect with the brother's best friend trope, but as is typical Julie, she brought us an emotionally charged, heartwarming story, plus so much more. I felt SO many emotions while reading this!

Sweet Thing: J.A. Huss brings the heat with a very sexy, hot older man, sweet young girl forbidden romance that is sure to leave readers hot and bothered.

Julie is a master at writing about a topic that is usually taboo but she writes the story in such a way that has you rooting for the couple all the way through. I wanted to see these two break through the stigma people tend to have when a couple has an age gap like these two do. But Ryker handles the situation like a champ, even though he's the last person on earth who was looking to settle down with one person.

Wild Thing: I have been really enjoying these short, sweet stories Julie has been releasing over the past few weeks. The first was sweet and very emotional, the second was sweet and very sexy, so I figured the third would be sweet and...something, but in typical Julie fashion, she threw a curveball at me with Wild Thing.

Yes, Wild Thing is about a girl who is pretty wild and her father needs someone to tame her down so he can get her married off as arranged, but this story doesn't get anywhere near the "sweet and..." like the previous two books. Oh, there's sweet moments inside, that occur between Mason and Lyssa, but this book has some dark overtones and is layered with confusing clues that Mason tries so hard to decipher so that he can figure out who Lyssa truly is. Is she really like the Wild Thing he saw in the club that very first time, or is she really a subdued, spoiled princess under her Stepfather's thumb?

Prepare to go on a wild ride reading this book! Strap in tight, because the twists and turns come at you fast and furious!

Pretty thing

Holy moly. I don't know what was JA Huss intention but I bowled like a baby!!! It's so emotional, so beautiful and the memories..gosh!
Kali, Kyle and Aiden grew up together. Aiden has always had a crush on Kali but Kyle was against it..now tho he is gone and in their new reality they might find a new connection!
I will just say two words..otherworldly app..and let's leave it at that ;)
The story was also very sweet and the chemistry was off the charts. I totally enjoyed the story and fell in love with the characters. Can't wait for more!

This story was really so sweet..hot too, but def sweet!
Ryker and Aria, despite the age difference and the different lives they are living, work well together..at the beginning I was unsure but this man is just so good to her.
Aria might be young and innocent, but she can be adventurous and daring..while Ryker can be the sweetest and the most caring.
Can't wait for next book!


wild thing

After the first chapter I thought I had the story pegged..after all Mason has kidnapped the little brat, Lyssa, and is bringing her home to her dad..but after the first chapter things started to change and I got so so excited... Lyssa is def not who you think she is at first sight and the situation is def anything but normal. Mason got sidetracked into this messy situation and oh boy, it is messy indeed.
Bound to mess with your head, crazy hot, with tender and sweet little moments..def got me hooked and I couldn't put it down!

Pretty Thing
Omg this book gave me all the feels. Once I started reading Kali & Aiden’s story I didn’t want too stop. Beautifully written, characters that you will absolutely love. Kali & Aiden are a couple you will never forget. JA can do no wrong. Every book she writes is a masterpiece and one click worthy because you will never be disappointed. I love every single minute of this book and the ending was perfect.

Sweet Thing
Another 5 Star read by JA that I absolutely love. Aria & Ryker were sweet and sexy and every time they were together I didn’t want to stop reading. Ryker will definitely become your next book boyfriend and will definitely make you swoon. Another amazing story with amazing characters that everyone must read.

Wild Thing

Another amazing read by JA that I absolutely devoured. I was hooked from the start. Lyssa & Mason, I absolutely loved together and loved every minute of their story. This book was crazy good and the twists wow. Amazing story with amazing characters that everyone must read.

Loved these shorter stories. Julie has such a way of evoking intense emotions and leaving you feeling emotionally wrung out but also wanting more!

Wild thing was not totally my cup of tea, that’s just a personal preference, but I absolutely loved sweet thing and pretty thing and would definitely recommend this collection.

So many feels

I loved these books - they were quick reads but so much packed into each one. I loved that they were 3 unique stories no repeats of the same old formula. The characters were all so delicious. The last one - OMG crying so many times but an amazing end.
