The writer Nicola Nonhoff's illustrated biography of Paul Cezanne is a beautiful introduction to the “Life and Work” of Paul Cezanne. “Life and Work” is the subtitle of the book. The book is part of the Art in Focus series. Phil Greenhead translated the book from German into English with the help of the firm of Goodfellow & Egan. Cezanne lived between 1839 and 1906. The last chapter is the artistic legacy of Cezanne. Each of the chapters of this short book begins with a timeline of events in Cezanne's life and the history of the world during his lifetime. The book is only 91 pages but covers a great deal of ground. The book includes a glossary of terms used in the text, including concepts such as avant-garde, the Commune of 1871, and others. The book covers many aspects of Cezanne’s life and artistic influences on Cezanne’s work. The book covers Cezanne’s relationship with the impressionist art movement. The book also includes Cezanne’s relationship with abstract art, which started in the late 1890s (Nonhoff & Geenhead 70-71). The book covers the artistic legacy of Cezanne. The book has large print text and is very readable. The book has eight chapters. The book is a beautiful introduction to the “Life and Work” of Paul Cezanne.

If you want a high level overview of Cezanne's life, this book is for you. It has a lot of pictures and timelines. The book also provides comments on the different phases of the painter's techniques.
