God of the Impossible: Stories of Hope from the Muslim World

Rate this book
Discover how all things are possible with God! Sharing the gospel with those from different cultures and belief systems can sometimes seem futile, especially when it comes to reaching Muslims. The gap between Christianity and Islam is vast, and bridging cross-cultural values can seem impossible. In God of the Stories of Hope from the Muslim World , you’ll be stirred by amazing testimonies of people from a Muslim background coming to personal faith in Jesus Christ. Through years of work with Call of Hope—a ministry that reaches Muslim communities—Rev. Stefano Fehr and Dr. Samuel Naaman have witnessed countless episodes of God’s saving grace flourishing in the midst of adversity. In these riveting stories, you’ll be equipped with practical ways to reach Muslims and others in your own community, and be encouraged in your faith by witnessing the power and promise of the gospel.

A really beautiful and well written anthology of converts from Islam to the Christian faith, providing vivid description of just how much that costs in terms of sacrificing ones safety, family, wealth, home, etc. Very encouraging and edifying to read these unlikely stories of many times proud and persecuting individuals who experience redemption and impossible grace.

The book also provides direct cultural insight into not just Islam and a fair bit of its history, but you're also able to live vicariously through the missionaries laboring in religiously, politically divisive and war-torn countries like Syria or Nigeria, among a few others. It's a tale of tragedy and forgiveness, forsaking the futile nature of the flesh for the eternality of the Spirit, even if the most immediate result of doing so is exile or death.

This is a powerful testament to the saving grace of God. This short little book contains 10 conversion testimonies of ex-Muslims. Each one is only a couple of pages long and tells the story of an individual; how they got saved and their suffering persecutions from family, friends, neighbors, and others. These are stories from all over the world, even one from the United States which surprised me.

I love reading these stories, especially from people who were saved from other religions. Ex-Muslim testimonies are always so powerful because they are very religious and leaving their religion is very dangerous and painful.

The authors are the president and vice-president of Call of Hope, a ministry that takes the Word of God worldwide. The stories contained in this book are from people who have come through their doors.

I received a copy of this book from Moody in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

I understand a little better about the struggle between Islam and Christianity, and what it costs Muslims to convert - no less than everything. What courage. And how incredibly sad.
