The Enneagram is an ancient personality typology using nine points within a circle to represent nine distinct personality types. This sixty-day devotional is for Enneagram Three, known as the Achiever.
This book will help Threes, and those who love them, better understand how God created them and how best to use their unique gifts to serve Him and love others. It features an explanation of what the Enneagram is, how it benefits people, and a full description of what it means to be a Three, including the Achiever’s deadly sin and their greatest strength.
Some attributes of the The sixty days of this devotional are split into six ten-day topics that include uniqueness, weakness, strength, pain points, and how Achievers react in times of stress and growth.
Another thoughtful Enneagram Devotional by Elisabeth Bennett! Although I am not a 3, as a 9, I go to 3 in health. It was fascinating to read how that could look and relate to other parts of the devotional as well. It also opened my eyes to what it might be like to be a 3. Achiever, we appreciate, love, and admire you just the way you are, without needing to have proof of how amazing you are. I hope you know that, and can florish even more by slowly walking through this book!
I read and loved two of Elisabeth Bennett’s other Enneagram devotionals a while ago and was super excited for this one to come out because my husband is an Enneagram 3. I loved reading about the ways that Enneagram 3s uniquely reflect God’s character by taking action as well as their strength of encouragement, which I can definitely see in my husband. I also appreciated the insight about how 3s exhibit the loyalty of the Enneagram 6 in their times of growth and the sloth-like tendency of the Enneagram 9 in times of stress – and how those can look for different people.
I find the Enneagram fascinating as a tool to learn more about people and how they naturally process things and tend to show up in the world so I can better understand them, and I appreciate that this devotional gives me the opportunity to learn more about the way Enneagram 3s process and view things, where they struggle and are most vulnerable, and where they tend to shine and lead. But more than that, I love that this is a devotional that includes scriptures and prayers and reflection questions to help the reader dig deeper in discovering who they are individually and who God has made them to be. This is not a fluffy devotional but one that gently challenges as much as it affirms, calling the reader to not just learn about themselves but to use that knowledge to continue to grow in service of Christ.
I highly recommend this devotional if you’re an Enneagram 3, love an Enneagram 3, have a 3 wing, or go to a 3 in either growth or stress. You won’t be disappointed. :)
I can't even describe how life altering this book is! It's like Bennett was inside my head pointing out memories from my past, giving them names and context. I was able to learn why I did the things I did and felt the things I felt, from childhood to present. Some days I was left in shock, some days I cried, some days I journaled fiercely, some days a prayed for forgiveness, some days I called up friends apologizing, and today I feel like I'm at the start of something very meaningful. I loved that there were scriptures for every day to hold on to, to guide me.
The enneagram has blown my mind, and I don't have words to explain how strong I feel being able to label and dig into the things that make me me. Knowing how to combat weaknesses and highlight strengths can only make the kingdom of God stronger.
Read this series! Read this series! Find your type and read this book!!
I came to this book having already read a fair bit about my enneagram type, but I’d never really considered it as a tool for spiritual growth before.
That’s why I found this devotional so refreshing - it’s not just more self-help advice, it’s a tool for spiritual growth as you explore your specific personality type, and grapple with all of strengths and weaknesses that it brings.
At times, when I was reading this I felt my habits, tendencies and motivations were reflected so well, that it felt like the book had been written just for me!
Needless to say, if you’re a 3 like I am, I can’t recommend this highly enough!
