She’s running from her past. He’s broken from his. Barring a miracle, love doesn’t stand a chance.
Edna Williams took a job as a housekeeper and nanny across the country in Colorado, hoping it would be far enough away from her former husband to start over. But some troubles won’t give up, and he follows her west, putting her new employer in danger too.
A widower, Dr. Fredrick Ward’s calling is to heal, but his failures as a doctor haunt him. After some correspondence, he hires Mrs. Williams to keep house and watch his son while he works long hours caring for patients. What he hadn’t expected was the constant need to remind himself not to fall in love with the kind, beautiful woman.
Edna’s worried to love again. And Fredrick’s secrets crush him. However, there just might be a miracle waiting for them in Denver that’s big enough to change their hearts.
This has been a good series. I have loved seeing the guardian angels who are there to lend a hand when needed. I loved how in this book Edna and Fredrick’s sons were what helped to bring them together. I also liked how Edna needed to stop running and trust Fredrick with her past before they could have a future together. I loved seeing the characters open up to each other and becoming a family.
I received a complimentary book from publishers, publicists, and or authors. A review was not required and all opinions and ideas expressed are my own.
This has been a fun series to read. Each of these have been very different in plot and how the angels are used in the story. And each one had Millie and the Reverend Bing as a common thread through them. Secondary characters but still a vital part of each story.
In this 4th book, the angels were used differently because they were there most of the time to be guardian angels for the children instead of there on behalf of the love interests. And there were two angels instead of one. So it was an interesting use. And this one was also different because they weren't cowboys. So I just shrug my shoulders on that one.
The story was sweet and I got teary eyed during the end chapters. I liked both main characters and their children. It was an enjoyable read.
Angels among us! What a good book! Secrets from the past play a big part in this book. However, when there are guardian angels around, one does not have to worry. Edna takes the job as a housekeeper for a doctor who lives in Denver. He is a widower with a young son. Edna also has a son the same age. They become fast friends at the train station. When Edna is taken to the doctor’s house, she realizes they met at the train station as she was chastising his son – which did not sit well with him. Another thing that did not sit well: he did not know that she had a son that he would have to feed. Things get quite interesting with these mischievous boys. What happens when they have to confront the past? Read and see.
This was a sweet historical fiction with a dab of spiritual in it. The story follows a young, single mother, Edna, escaping her past. A situation of proximity puts her in contact with a doctor, Fredrick, who is a widower with a young son. Watching the two young sons become friends closer than brothers was heartwarming. Edna and Fredrick’s relationship develops as you would expect in this trope with a few twists along the way. The only thing I was not a fan of in this book were the angel characters. I felt as though they didn’t add to the plot at all. While nothing new, still a sweet and endearing read.
This is a sweet story about a woman on the run, hiding from her abusive ex husband. She and her son are just arriving in Denver. She is to be the new housekeeper for the local Doctor. Her son is a handful of a boy. Which brings in the angel (Serafina) to this story. She is keeping a watchful eye on him. This story has a lot of growth and development for the characters. Learning to let people help you and to trust others and loving after you have been betrayed. Another great Christian western romance.
Dr Federick Parker and son John Parker have sent for a nanny/housekeeper to help out around the house. John is a typical rambunctious boy who could use a playmate and finds one in Mitch the son of Edna Williams who has arrived to take on the job. The first meeting between Federick and Edna wasn't as smooth as it should have been. Edna is headstrong and protective and Dr. Parker is kindhearted and protective of his son as well. Well written western romance with some intrigue, angels and faith thrown in!
A beautifully written story with hope, love & understanding. It's a touching, moving & intriguing romance. Edna & her son Mitch, are starting a new life in Denver, Colorado. Her job as a housekeeper, is working for the town Doctor. Fredrick, a widower & single father, of John, is not looking for love. As they all spent time together, Edna & Fredrick's heart began to heal. I loved it from the very first page!!
I really enjoyed this fantastic story! Characters you can be friends with. Two young boys who quickly became like brothers. A touch of suspense along with a sweet romance makes this a heartwarming story. Add in two guardian angels who appear when needed and you have a wonderful story! I am looking forward to more in this series! I received an advance copy of this book from the author, however, I voluntarily wrote an honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.
I chose to read and review this book. I enjoyed reading this one. It is a sweet lovely one. It is filled with romance emotions that kept me reading till the end. I liked the interactions between all the characters. It is cute when one finds love when not looking for it or with someone they had no idea could ever love them. I recommend it
Fantastic characters that I instantly fell in love with. I enjoyed everything about this story, some parts had me in stitches with the angels and little boys. Seeing how these characters bonded and cared for each other was heartfelt. The romance was clean and so beautiful. This is a story that will capture your heart and have you wanting more!
2 mischivous boys are brought together at the train station when both boys were misbehaving. Turns out Fredrick is the Doctor Edna is going to work for. After a rocky start they learn to fall in love but it's not all smooth sailing with something in Edna's past that she hasn't shared.
Emotions were drawn out of me making this story feel so real. I found myself laughing and crying happy and sad tears. The final outcome was magical. At first I wasn’t sure how I felt about the addition of guardian angels, but it was a heartwarming touch. Book gifted to me.
I have loved the series that this refers to. I enjoyed the spunk of the mother caring for her energetic son. The angels always add a special touch to the story. Always heartening to see the 'bad guy's get his comeuppance! A feel good story.
I enjoyed every moment of this book! The two boys were fantastic characters who became great friends. Loved the two angels and their dialogue! Then you have the doctor and his housekeeper, Edna. So sweet!
A hard working, divorced, mother of a young son takes a position As a house keeper for a doctor in Denver. I kept waiting for a medical emergency to arise. Everyone is getting second chances. A good love story with a bit of suspense. I recommend this book.
A sweet story of making a family where you are. Can a somewhat jaded doctor accept the woman who came to be his housekeeper but brought het son along without telling the doctor ahead of time?
I believe there really are angels who watch over us in this life. This story was great. The dr.and everyone was portrayed well. The romance was sweet. A good clean romance
Life can be rough but on the run with a child for ten years, divine intervention is needed. Shed a tear or two cause this journey is as sweet as it is volatile. Great read with two boys and their shadows stealing the show.
This series is very well written but are more like short stories created to make a set. I would not have paid to read them as I want some meat for my money
I'm really enjoying this series. He thought he was getting a housekeeper but he got so much more. She was running from her past but found a future. I loved Frederick and Edna's story. Throw in two young boys and you have a heartwarming captivating read. I look forward to more books in the series.
