Are you searching for God’s presence in your life but don’t know where to look? Are you sure that God is out there somewhere, if only you could find the time and space to explore? Brian Grogan, SJ, shares a simple God is already here—in nature, in prayer, in your relationships, even in experiences of evil and trouble. God is at home both in the micro- and the macro-levels of reality. And God’s loving plan encompasses everything that exists, including and especially you.
In God Is Right in Front of You , you will learn how to find God in every aspect of life and how to use these discoveries to grow in faith. Each chapter is brief enough to be read in a single sitting and ends with an exercise grounded in Ignatian spirituality and designed to help you understand and appreciate that God is all around you every minute of the day.
A good read, it was a very practical Field Guide to Ignatian Spirituality of “Finding God in All Things.” In reality it was a short-book-length Examen, or short chapters of where to look for God & meditate on that in the Examen. It was an easy read & leisurely & even semi-therapeutic, filled with practical ideas & applications. I deem it could likely be worth a reread & I would highly recommend to friends & family. This is the type of stuff that should be taught at parishes to adults.
I took my time with this one. A delight to read devotionally as Father Grogan has some beautiful imaginative contemplations and questions he offers at the end of each chapter. I have experienced the exercises (retreat in real life, week by week for 9 months). I also have read a number of good books on Ignatian practices and I found this one to be delightfully accessible to both veterans and newbies to Ignatian spirituality. Highly recommend.
