We all know that cats can be intelligent (when it's convenient for them)... But are they actually geniuses?
This brilliant Is My Cat A Genius? Book will answer all those important questions: is your cat manipulating you to get treats? Is he changing the TV channel on purpose? Is he purposely behaving badly to fend off your guests?
A visually-rich handbook filled with awesome quizzes, activity tests and games to help you boost your kitten's brainpower, this amazing book will help you increase your bond with your feline bestie and answer all the questions you've always wanted the answer to!
This was a gift. Short, quick and informative read on cat behaviour. Lots of info on cats and ways to train and get to know your cat. Good little coffee table book. Enjoyed. Turns out one of my cats is intelligent and one, not so much. We already knew this, but now we understand why and maybe can work on it! lol. We shall give it a go.
A little book full of curiosities and facts about cats with exercises and tasks for you to test and develop your cat's intelligence. I still need to test a lot of the tasks, but as soon as I tried the first one (which was to seat) my brilliant Ísis didn't even hesitated, proving what I already knew, that as genius go, she is the most genius of them all. My Marie Curie, that has the name of a genius, only cared about the biscuit 😅
It's a fun book exploring various aspects of feline intelligence with interesting facts and tidbits that might surprise even a lifelong cat owner. The pictures are cute and the quotes are... there. The downside is that the book, all throughout, heavily subscribes to the popular and humorous misconception that cats think of themselves as above us. They are the owner and we are their inferiors, or servants. I've never appreciated this ideology as it has the potential to harm our relationships with these wonderful animals by reducing their whole personalities to one, albeit a significant, aspect of their nature - them being solitary hunters and being inherently designed to act in their own interests as a result. They are so much more than this, and they are capable of love and generosity, which is another testament to their intelligence, adaptability and potential as a social species. Exploring this potential and the various layers of feline personality would have made for a much more enjoyable read.
Wasn't for me. Bought this originally as a bathroom reader for our guests to peruse so they could ponder how smart our cats are (one in particular). However, this seemed more like a book that was written by a fan of cats espousing all their splendor and greatness, without any actual evidence. Some of the "facts" in this text are actually just common myths that have been disproven by science, although they still enjoy the status as a "well-known public fact."
Cute little book with lots of pictures of cats. By this one of my cats is very smart, the other two not so much. Throwing a towel over them, the smart cat quickly exits, cat #2 absolutely panics and cat #3 just lays there
