As art books go, this is a typically gorgeous example. Alessandra Mattanza has done a bang-up job of conducting interviews and assembling this book. As the title implies, Street Art has strong roots in graffiti and mural art. Some of the names in this book--Banksy and Shepard Fairey--were already familiar to me. The rest were brand new. Of the new names, I was particularly impressed with the work of AEC, M-City, Slinkachu, and Vhils. The last two, in particular, are using techniques very different from the rest, and I found their work especially exciting.
I enjoy a good art book, so I was pleased with this one. I don't know that it's significantly better or worse than most though. Worth checking out if you’ve any interest in contemporary art or street art in particular. If art books bore you, though, I don't know that this one will change your mind. Recommended, with that caveat in mind ...
