Indulgence

Something was missing. Deep down, I wasn't satisfied.

It all started with dinner and a blindfold. We led each other down a path we didn't know if we'd be able to return from. We saw a side of each other we'd never seen before. What's more . . . we liked it.

Indulging in our sexuality was the best thing we'd done for our marriage, for ourselves.

Until it wasn't.

I have no idea why I even read this, since I don’t enjoy reading about a married couple that are bored with their sex life, so they decide to spice it up. It always ends with them opening up their marriage and sleeping with other people, then feeling jealous and insecure about it. But I was curious to see if this would go that same route and of course, it did.

Natalie is bored with her vanilla sex life with her husband Matteo so they decide to spice it up. They start off with going to a sex club and having public and anal sex. Then they move on to threesomes. First threesome was double penetration with Matteo’s best friend. Then of course because Matteo is a man, and it is every man’s fantasy to have a threesome with two women, Natalie decides to finally make his dreams come true. So they bring home a random girl and they all have sex with her without condoms and then fall asleep in their bed. The next morning Natalie freaks out with jealousy and is mad that Matteo fucked the girl without a condom. The girl swears she is on the pill but that she will take the morning after pill to be sure she doesn’t get pregnant. The wife then spends the rest of the book angry at her husband and herself for allowing the threesome to happen then they make up and the end.

It’s not a bad book. The writing is good, the characters are even likeable. I never wanted to skim. I just was not a fan of the storyline, which is why I’m only giving it 2 stars.

Listen.

It's not bad. I've only reached halfway in chapter 2 and already I'm cringing. This is too close to reality for me.

And knowing me and my preference, I don't like the marriage in peril trope. So.... Go ahead and take a chance on this. Maybe you'll like it more than I do.

Indulgence is a very well written, emotional story of choices and the consequences that follow. College sweethearts have been married for thirteen years both with full times jobs and two children. This doesn’t leave much time for intimacy and their love life has stalled. They decide to add some spice into their relationship. Decisions are made and lines are crossed, will they be able to survive the fallout? This book was intriguing with some twists and loads of steam. I loved these characters especially Matteo. He was just a wonderful man, husband and father. I highly recommend this story, once I started reading I was riveted and didn’t stop until the end.

Gahhh!! Wow! What an exciting book! I was reading along and then out of no where it took an unbelievable turn and shocked me! Passionate and sensual! Mistakes were made, emotions were high, and tragic events brought them together! K.A. Berg takes you on an incredible journey of experiments gone wrong and the emotional aftermath! Awesome story!!

This book is about a married couple, Natalie and Matteo. Natalie is feeling bored, she loves her husband dearly but doesn't know how to tell her husband this. Matteo knows she's been faking her orgasms and doesn't know why she's doing this. So he does a little digging and learns his wife is craving a little more from their sex life and goes about fulfilling her fantasies.

I loved everything about this book. Two people already in love gives it a different perspective. They know each other well and when Matteo steps out of his comfort zone to give his wife an exciting experience it's done from a place of love. He never shames her for her desires, he embraces this new side of Natalie. Can you tell who my favorite character is?

If you enjoyed The Marriage Diaries from Erika Wilde you'll definitely like this.

Thanks so much the author and wildfiremarketing for this ARC to review.

Indulgence was a great look inside a marriage in peril, and how the choices made in the spur of the moment have long-lasting ripple effects. Even though this book was a sexfest (which I honestly expected based on the description), I thought it was really well-written. When the crap hits the fan, I was able to sympathize with both Matteo and Natalie as they grapple with what went down in their sexual exploration and how they can -- could they even? -- come back from that.

In a nutshell, Natalie and Matteo are college sweethearts, married for 14 years with 12 year old twins. Natalie is bored with their vanilla sex life, and they embark on a journey of kinky exploration. A bit of BDSM, a lot of mixing things up in the bedroom, a M/F/M threesome, and even joining a sex club. But lines are crossed when they venture into a F/M/F threesome, Matt has sex with the other girl, but doesn't use a condom. The ramifications of that forgotten protection has huge ramifications for Matteo and Natalie when she freaks out and temporarily moves out of their home, leaving Matteo floundering and angry and without his partner to work through things with.

I found their search for intimacy really interesting, and I liked how KA Berg wrote the story. I actually liked both characters quite a bit, and I enjoyed the push and pull in the last third of the book following the threesome. Every time Matt tried to talk things out with Natalie, she shut him out. I loved that sit-down with her friends where they told her that she was basically being a bitch with a capital B. And then when Natalie finally came around, he was angry that she had shut him out for so long and then he shut her out. Emotions are high, tensions are high, and I was anxiously waiting for Natalie and Matteo to put their relationship back to rights.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Wow, this was such a great book! I was hooked from the storyline to the characters.

Natalie is a woman in her thirties who is bored out of her mind with her vanilla style sex with her husband. She loves him to death but she just wants, seeks something different, something more that will spike up their love life, she just doesn't know how to talk to her husband about her dilemma.

Matteo has a niggling that his wife is bored with their sex life, but he just doesn't know how to exactly please her so he starts snooping around and when he see's what she's into, he gets an idea about how to spice up their love life, once she admits to him how bored she has been with their love making.

Once they start going out of their comfort zone and start trying out new things, it's all fine and dandy until something they do out of their planned agenda and things get out of hand and hearts start to get broken and one or the other starts freaking out about what they did.

These two were great characters who are a married couple for over 14 years with two kids and live a comfortable life until they spice up their bedroom habits and things start falling down the barrel.

Can they overcome their insecurities and get back to normal or will this tarnish their marriage???

It was definitely hot, sensual and certainly spicy.

Emotional, raw and compelling story about the choices we make and it’s consequences.
When a happily married couple seek alternative ways of spicing their marriage, they got more than what they bargained for!
Natalie and Matteo are at a crossroads in their marriage. They’re happily married with the home, the kids...yada yada yada.
Natalie is bored and wants a change, Matteo loves his wife and will do anything to make her happy!
Be careful what you wish for!
Their attempts at spicing things up led to a unique, emotional, and compelling story that had me screaming at this couple...What are you doing???
Well written with well developed characters, the writing was strong and so on point it was easy to relate to the story and their struggle!
What you’re willing to do for love is put to the test as a stupid and careless mistake during a night of debauchery has them all questioning their decisions.
This story was equal parts sensual but also so realistic. As painful as it was to read, I couldn’t put this book down to discover how it all played out.
Well worth reading and finding out what happens!
4.5 stars!

This book messed me up.

I was seconds away from throwing my tablet across the room. It could've been bad, it's been a long time since a book gave me that reaction. I'm still in my feels over here.

After over a decade of marriage and a set of twins things between Natalie and Matteo have kinda fizzled out in the bedroom. Instead of jumping to crazy conclusions, Matteo sets out to fix things. They both are very much in love they just need a little spice. And boy does the spice happen.

Idk what I enjoyed their spice or the fact that this book is about a married couple who love each other and are still highly attracted to each other. Like I'm just gonna go with the latter. That just does something for me. So often stories like this end up cheating stories ( i have no complaints about those i love them too.) it was a nice change of pace for that to not have happened here.

K.A Berg is another author that I'm a big fan of, so she's a go to for me without reading what her books are about. In this case, it didn't do me any favors because this was a story that isn't quite for me. I'm going to try to write this review without giving too much away because different strokes for different folks, but I'm not one who likes to share her toys. Natalie & Matteo have gotten complacent with their sex life, so they decide to spice it up. Now, I'm not upset about them trying to work their marriage out at a club, but there are elements they took on which wasn't my cup of tea, and the fallout was a bit too dramatic but again, that's just me. I hope y'all remember that this is only my opinion not fact so I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you decide for yourselves!

This is a new to me Arthur that I will be going back and reading mire of her work. This was an emotional journey about to college sweethearts. They have been married a long time and lead busy lives.

Matteo was such a lovable character and great husband and father. All he wants to do is keep his wife happy. He can’t figure out what’s going on when it comes to their intimacy. It doesn’t take him long to find out, the only question is where do they go from here?

Lines are crossed and it’s hard to know what’s right and wrong. There were times I would be reading and then something would happen I didn’t see coming. I really enjoyed this book and will be reading more of K.A. Berg’s books.

So, I loved this story. Gets you thinking, hmmmm, do I want to spice up our lives? What can go wrong, might go wrong. And, if it does, can a long term marriage survive?

Do Natalie and Matteo want their marriage to survive?

I have not read many books by Berg, but I'm hopeful to read more. My TBR list is growing by leaps and bounds, but my free time is not! So glad I used some of that valued free time to indulge!!!!

I received an advanced reader copy, and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Indulgence consumed me from the start and refused to let go until I read the last word. K.A Berg delivers what just might be an interesting and intriguing book I've ever read. Very well written and has the perfect amount of steamy sex scenes that's exactly describes the whole story as it revolves to the couple who's spicing up their sex life. I never thought I need this book until I read it. K.A Berg is a new author to me and I most definitely will read more of her books.

This is a must read !!

To spice up or not...

Looking for ways to spice up your marriage has consequences. That holds true for Natalie and Matteo. At first - it seems fun and exciting and "the best thing we'd done for our marriage...Until it wasn't."

Be careful what you wish for.

This was entertaining, steamy, and challenging. You need to read with an open mind about couples who want to bring in others to their relationship. This shows the cost of those decisions.

This book was like a sexual awakening for Matteo and Natalie. It started off strong. But unfortunately went down hill pretty fast. I didn’t know what to expect when I choose to sign up for this book. I kinda thought it would be a married couple trying to spice things up. Then something happens. But, no... it kinda went off the deep end. I didn’t like that.

In the beginning...

I’m sure we all could relate to Matteo and Natalie in this book. Especially if you’ve been in a long relationship with your partner or married for a couple of years. It’s not always like it was in the beginning.... fireworks. After a couple of years and a couple of kids. Sex is kinda put on the back burner. You have it because you need it and want it.... but you just don’t have the time or sometimes energy to be like how it was in the beginning. Life happens. It won’t always be like that. But... as time goes by... we change. We start to need certain things. And Natalie needed something more in her life.

Talk about opening up Pandora’s box! Matteo knew something was off with his wife Natalie. Their sex had alway been good. But he could tell when their connection wasn’t in sync. Something he was doing, just wasn’t fully doing it for her.

So, he started to snoop. And boy.... did he learn something new about his wife! She needed and wanted more.

I didn’t want it to be a regular night of our married sex. The jig was up. I knew what she wanted. What she fantasized about when she touched herself."

I loved that Matteo wanted to give her what she needed sexually. He wanted her happy. Even if he had to push his own boundaries to make his wife happy.

My wife—my beautiful, sexy, secretly dirty wife—wanted more. She wanted different. She wanted adventure."

He was definitely out of his comfort zone. So he was learning along the way. But I felt Matteo overlooked his needs and wants to make Natalie happy. I felt Natalie was blaming Matteo for a situation she caused. And instead of facing the situation like a couple. She blamed Matteo. She was selfish. And once I saw that... it kinda ruined the whole journey they went on. Because even though Natalie started it. And Matteo enjoyed himself. She blamed him right away. Which was wrong.
Instead of facing this big situation as a couple. Natalie made it all about herself. She didn’t care about Matteo’s feeling.

We’re supposed to weather this storm together.

This book was a solid 5 stars until the 63% mark. I hated what Natalie did. You face this situation like a couple.
But Natalie handled the whole situation wrong. I felt bad for Matteo. He didn’t deserve what Natalie was doing to him. And for that alone. I stopped liking her.

The added drama at the the end of this book was uncalled for. And didn’t make any sense as to why it was added. I wish the book would’ve just focused on Matteo and Natalie. They already had a lot going on. The drama at the end just felt like it was thrown in.

And I also was feeling the names Matteo was calling Natalie. And Natalie was calling Matteo.
Matteo kept calling Natalie Darling and love. He sounded like a old man. It made them seem older then they were. They are still young... I kept thinking they were older every time Matteo talked. And the threesome scenes. I felt like condoms should’ve been used. It just felt weird to not use them with people they are inviting into their bedroom.

This book wasn't for me.

I am not going to sugar coat this read - it is rough emotionally. It will hit you straight in the heart.
We all get in a rut sometimes. A little spice, a little indulgence never hurt anyone, right?
Over Indulgence, can pierce your heart, blur the lines and in marches jealousy, fear, regret.
Matteo and Natalie had what most couples envied but even they had become complacent.
Deciding to add something new to their sex life seemed to be just what they needed. Eventually lines were crossed and they couldn't turn back what had already had been done.
Now they need to recapture and return to their original love.
I don't know how to express all the questions and fears that this brought to light. It is an awesome story but you will have so many questions running through your mind about "what would you do?" "who do you side with?" - it a complex story with so much emotion. I advise that you prepare yourself before reading this one as you will be in a state of unrest/ book hangover upon completion.

Natalie and Matteo were college sweethearts. They’re juggling work, marriage, and twins with all kinds of activities. Their relationship seems stable except Nat’s been faking it in bed. The exploration they had was a good way to spice things up and I was all for bringing a little variety into their relationship. However, the introduction of a third person was a hard pass for me even though the experience was consensual. I found it difficult to understand Nat’s reactions when she introduced a third person when she had the opposite when Matt did it. That was a bit contradictory and hypocritical in my opinion. If the introduction of a third in a marriage is your cup of tea, this book is right up your alley.

Amazing Story

A story about a happily married couple was new for me! The author did an amazing job portraying the role of a mom, wife, and full time working adult! The thoughts running through Natalies head while she was trying to focus on an orgasm couldn’t have been more on point! The path Nat and Matteo take to grow their relationship is beautiful, sexy, and brave! I hated Natalie for a bit at the end, but I get where she was coming from!
This is an absolute must read for any married mama who just wants to FEEL a little more! ❤️❤️

Indulgence by K.A. Berg is my first book by this author. I wasn’t too sure how this book was going to play out, but I was surprised by how attached and intrigued I was.

My emotions were all over the place with these characters. Natalie and Matteo have a normal life but things in the bedroom got boring. In the attempt to spice things up; things go wrong and twists and turns are made that took me by surprise.

Overall. This was a good book that will open your eyes to things you always wanted to try. But the question is, would you spice-up your bedroom style?

This was a hard read for me. Natalie has a loving husband, wonderful kids; but she was missing something. Matteo will do anything to make her happy. Unfortunately this will open up a pandoras box. Will their marriage survive??
