Excuse me while I freak the f*ck out all over this review. You've been warned. It's about to get shouty.
WHAT. DID. I. JUST. READ?
OMG. OMG. OMG! I'm blown away. Honestly, you guys, I feel book drunk right now. Half of this review probably won't even make sense because it's going to be filled with "ooohhhhsss and ahhhhhhs and gasps and omgs and squeeees." So, if you don't like those types of reviews, look away, cause that's all I've got right now!
HOLY F*CKING SHIT!!
This is a BOOK ALERT if I ever did see one. This is a 'drop your life, you will never be the same, best book' alert. I'm overwhelmed by the ride this standalone novel just took me on. I was NOT expecting that. At all. Not even a little. When I opened Take Me Back I thought I was going to get an angsty story about a couple who has a broken marriage. I thought, "heart break, regret, sadness, angst." And AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! :::freaks out::: It was all that to an extent. It definitely had those feels--the regrets, heartache and emotional struggle--but it was more!
SO. MUCH. MORE.
On top of ALLLLLLLL that emotion, I got the most kick ass plot line, served to me in the best, most seamless POV, past/present shifts I've ever read. The flow of this novel, the way the story unfolded, was riveting. From the second I met Dane and Kat I had an INSTANT connection to them as a couple. I was pulled into their world, completely invested, desperate to know what they were doing, where they were going, what was wrong, and how they were going to fix it. I couldn't breathe, eat, sleep, move, until I was done. I had a case of book fever. And so, as I kept reading, I got more and more buzzed. The secrets, the twists and turns I never saw coming, all took me deeper. Intense. A wild journey.
And no joke, this couple is EVERYTHING. Kat is a hard working, independent go-getter who's addicted to building her business. She uses that to cope with her life problems. And Dane is this strong, completely rugged, amazingly badass alpha-male with some MAJOR secrets. Kat and Dane have been married two years and obviously, they're having problems. Communication between them is shit. And so, as a last ditch effort, Dane takes Kat to a secluded Island in Belize in an attempt to see if they can save their marriage.
From here you think... "OK. I'm going to get a rehash of all painful things they've both done wrong." Yes and no. There's a little rehashing, but MOTHER OF F*UCKING HELL. You get a story that leaves you stunned, slack jawed, on the edge of your seat. Really. The suspense element that comes into play is WHOA BABY. You do not want to miss it!!
Overall, I'm completely high off this book. This is in my TOP READS of the year with Devil You Know, Egomaniac and Pucked Off. The BEST OF THE BEST here. So breathtaking. From start to finish, addicting, intoxicating, heart wrenching and delicious. I LOVED it. I cannot wait for you to LOVE it. Dane and Kat are going to blow you away. 10 zillion stars for me.

OMG! I knew after reading the synopsis for this book, my heart was going to be put through the ringer. To give you a little insight, I received an early copy for this book quite a while ago, and I'm STILL thinking about it. Kat and Dane are two characters that I will NEVER forget and they are two of Ms. March's BEST CHARACTERS EVER! Even though they are struggling, the love and devotion that these two characters have for each other is unheard of. It's magnetic. It's heart wrenching. It's unbelievably heartbreaking. Even though you just know that this author will give us a happily ever after we will never forget, you still can't help but worry for the two of them. It's angst-ridden goodness at its best. Plus, there is a surprising element that you won't see coming that will make you fall in love with this story EVEN MORE!!!

An absolute MUST READ for every single romance reader out there!

WOW! This was so unexpected. I was completely enthralled from beginning to end! I literally sat in one spot and read this book cover to cover last night. I could not put it down! My heart pounded the entire time.
Strap in for a wild ride, folks. Take Me Back is an emotional roller coaster. You will feel every possible emotion while reading this captivating novel. It's funny at times, real and raw at others, and then completely heart-wrenching in other spots. Kat and Dane are exceptional characters. I was immediately drawn in and felt a connection with each of them. Their circumstances and the level of emotions displayed will melt your heart.
This is one of my favorite books by Meghan March. Overall, it's brilliantly written and utterly intoxicating. It's the perfect mix of real, sexy, and suspenseful. All I can say is...expect the unexpected. I highly recommend it.

The way the story begins, you think you know what lays ahead of you, but oh no, be prepared to have your minds blown! I swear this is my favorite Meghan March book to date!! I can’t wait for you all get the chance to read this gem!
Dane and Kat Cross are taking a much-needed vacation in Belize to celebrate their second wedding anniversary. Things have been more than strained where their marriage is concerned and this trip is Dane’s last-ditch effort to hold on to his wife. After a tragedy hit Kat really hard about a year ago, she threw herself into her business to avoid dealing with yet another devastating loss in her life, but unfortunately, it also caused her to close herself off to Dane. He gave her the space he thought she needed to heal. It was the wrong decision as it created an impenetrable wall to go up between them.
When Dane proclaims that this vacation will determine whether or not they should salvage the marriage, it actually becomes the wake-up call that Kat needed. Panic strikes her hard over the possibility of losing the man she loves more than life itself. So she makes it a point to leave her laptop at home and to turn off that pesky cell phone that always seems to be glued to her hand. Kat is going to take Dane up on this opportunity to get back to that fun and loving couple they used to be. The island of Belize is a beautiful backdrop for their romantic getaway and soon the passion that has always been beyond explosive is once again ignited between them.
I wasn’t expecting this story to completely throw me off balance and I just have to give kudos to the author for that. I’m not going to go into further detail about the plot other than to say that Kat and Dane have been keeping secrets throughout their entire relationship and hopefully that won’t end up destroying them.
TAKE ME BACK releases tomorrow! This is a one-click must! I loved this story so much that I am officially adding Meghan March to my favorite authors list!! Those of you who have read her works and even those of you who haven’t, really need to bump this book up your TBRs!

➦Verra good. In fact, probably my favorite book by this author. From the title you can probably guess that this is a story of a married couple who try to save their marriage.
➦They take a vacation in hopes of getting away from everything and everyone and rekindling the flame. You'd think this would be a depressing book, but it actually isn't. It has a suspense element to it that kept me interested from cover to cover and I didn't really know where the book was going.
➦There are secrets, hot sexy times, may be even shark attacks. (wait, whet?) Because they are somewhere on an island, duuuur! So yeah, if you're a fan of contemporary romances with a bit of suspense, action and steam then this one is for you!

Meghan March has outdone herself with this story. Kat and Dane are not in a good place. They need to get back to what made them fall head over heels, but both have secrets that need to come to light before they can move forward.
This story really hit the spot. It was written extremely well with seamless transitions and excellent pacing and build up. Just when you think you've got it figured out, something changes your whole perspective. Reading this is quite the adventure. I won't give away any plot details because I don't want to taint your experience but I will wholeheartedly say that this is a must have! :) It offered something unique and interesting and packaged in a way that left me wanting more.

5 'Always and Forever' Stars!

Let's give a HUGE applause to Meghan March because she has written a fantastic second chance love story! I am a massive fan of Meghan's books (especially her alpha heroes!) and I was definitely excited for her newest release. Let me tell you, this woman did not disappoint with Take Me Back. It sure is one of my favorites by her!
Take Me Back is the story of a married couple who, affected by life circumstances, are now fighting to keep their marriage alive. Kat and Dane Cross are not in their best moment but they still love each other desperately so they hope to resolve everything on their wedding anniversary holiday. Get ready for this roller coaster of love story!
In fairy tales, the wedding is always followed by and they lived happily ever after. In real life, I do just means the real work begins.
I love when authors make their main characters a married couple. I loved the flashbacks and how they mixed with the whole story. I loved the back and forth between the main characters. I loved their off the charts chemistry. I loved the drama and suspense aspect in it. I loved it ALL!
I cling to him like he’s a rock in the ocean and I’m being battered by waves. The rock I wouldn’t let him be when I needed him most.
“You want this? You want us? You want everything I’m going to give you?”
“Yes.”
“Tell me. Tell me this is forever, Kat. Always and fucking forever.”
While introducing a little bit of danger to the story, Meghan has managed very well keeping her humor touches and those sexy sexy scenes that we love so much between the couple! I loved Dane to pieces. Meghan's alphas are just soooooooo good! I am pretty sure many readers will love this couple and this novel as much as me!
She’s my wife, and I love every fucking inch of her.
Therefore, my rating for Take Me Back is 5 STARS because this wonderful book gave me everything I love in a good second chance romance! I mean who complains on a hot alpha who is willing to do everything to keep his wife safe and loved? NOT ME! I obviously recommend this one a lot, check it out if you have enjoyed Meghan's books in the past or you want a fantastic second-chance love story!

Meghan March definitely knows how to give you the element of surprise when it comes to her stories and “Take Me Back” was the perfect example of how much she not only grew as a writer, but her ability to make you feel what these characters were going through was downright impeccable. This was not your ordinary love story about two people falling in love and living happily ever after. This was a story about what happens when you’ve already found the love of your life and said the vows, but LIFE itself gets in the way.
They say marriage is real hard work. From the moment you say I do”, that’s when the work begins. For some people, the honeymoon phase can last for months, while others could go years. But all that’s going to do is put you in this false sense of hope and denial and let me tell you, the only thing that will get you is a reality check quicker than you can say divorce. For Kat and Dane, their honeymoon phase is long over but one thing is for sure, the love that these two have for each other is still there. They just have to find their way to get back to each other.

From the beginning of this book, I knew I was in for one hell of a ride with Kat and Dane. This was a couple that captured my attention from their very first word and seeing how they not only interacted with each other, but made such a huge effort to save their marriage was awe inspiring. Dane and Kat loved hard but man they fought HARDER and I loved seeing that. Too many times we read a story and everything is so cookie cutter that we literally gobble it up but real life doesn’t work that way. You have to put in the work, you have to be there, you have to love, you have to know that sometimes you’re going to have bad days but remember for every bad day, you’re going to be getting a lot of good ones with the one you love.
I know this review is very vague but it is absolutely necessary and you’ll thank me. This is one emotional journey you have to experience with arms wide open and if you read any spoilers, it’s going to take away that element of surprise for you. This author delivered her absolute best when it came to these characters and they’re going to stay with me for a while. “Take Me Back” is a story not to be missed so buckle up and enjoy the ride.

They say marriage is real hard work. From the moment you say I do”, that’s when the work begins. For some people, the honeymoon phase can last for months, while others could go years. But all that’s going to do is put you in this false sense of hope and denial and let me tell you, the only thing that will get you is a reality check quicker than you can say divorce. For Kat and Dane, their honeymoon phase is long over but one thing is for sure, the love that these two have for each other is still there. They just have to find their way to get back to each other.

From the beginning of this book, I knew I was in for one hell of a ride with Kat and Dane. This was a couple that captured my attention from their very first word and seeing how they not only interacted with each other, but made such a huge effort to save their marriage was awe inspiring. Dane and Kat loved hard but man they fought HARDER and I loved seeing that. Too many times we read a story and everything is so cookie cutter that we literally gobble it up but real life doesn’t work that way. You have to put in the work, you have to be there, you have to love, you have to know that sometimes you’re going to have bad days but remember for every bad day, you’re going to be getting a lot of good ones with the one you love.
I know this review is very vague but it is absolutely necessary and you’ll thank me. This is one emotional journey you have to experience with arms wide open and if you read any spoilers, it’s going to take away that element of surprise for you. This author delivered her absolute best when it came to these characters and they’re going to stay with me for a while. “Take Me Back” is a story not to be missed so buckle up and enjoy the ride.

5+ -- Always And Forever -- stars
WOW! This book is phenomenal! This is my twelfth book by Meghan March, but she still surprises me with each book and she still makes me fall in love with every single character. Once I start a book by her, I find it nearly impossible to put it down and it wasn’t any different with Take Me Back. I love every single one of her books and I highly recommend them all!
Marriage should part of the happily ever after, but Dane and Kat’s happily ever after isn’t going as they expected it to go. They go on vacation to talk and decide whether they should stay together or not. It’s the first time I’ve read a romance book about a married couple. That made me think that maybe I wouldn’t love this book as much as Meghan’s other books, because I love reading how two people meet, fall in love and have an happily ever after. I shouldn’t have been worried.
I absolutely loved the setting. I wished that I was at that tropical island and I wouldn’t mind it if Dane was there with me. Dane is a perfect alpha male and I loved him! I also loved Kat. They are both strong, determined and fighters. They love each other and they don’t want their marriage to be over. But they have been keeping secrets from each other that could tear them apart. I desperately wanted to know what those secrets were.
I was a little sad to read the words ‘The End’, because I didn’t want this book to end. I absolutely loved this book from the hot, gorgeous cover until the words ‘The End’. I loved every chapter, every twist and every turn. I was sometimes staring at my tablet, being shocked at what was happening and then I couldn’t stop turning the pages. Amazing characters, fantastic plot, great setting and superb writing, do you need more? I know I don’t.

I loved the storyline in this one,I was hooked and I really wanted to know what happened with these two. Kat and Dane have been together for 2 years but things now aren't the same so they decide to take an anniversary vacation to get back what they once had.I loved watching them trying to fix their problems and my heart ached for them.
Kat and Dane had some heart wrenching, fun, adventurers, intense and some really hot moments! Dane is the perfect alpha male! I fell in love with his personality. He is perfect for Kat! I loved them, both were stubborn, funny, sweet and sexy!

It has been a minute since I read a Meghan March. And this one was written in 2017. So I'm not quite sure how or why this suddenly popped up on my radar...or why it never has before...but no matter.
This was about a marriage on the rocks, a romance trope I am here for ALL the time. EVERY time. So if you have some good recs, hit my up.
Otherwise, I enjoyed this well enough and will definitely re-read (and probably upgrade) it at some point.

You can read this book during one sitting. It's so addictive and totally worth it! I am so in love with characters. I want more! Just one of the best this year!

You are safe to know that Dane and Kat Cross are married. They go through problems in a relationship. The secrets and tragic events distanced them from each other. That is why he decided to take her on vacation on a secluded tropical island where they will try to put together their marriage. And that what's going to happen there will blow your mind.
From beginning to end Take Me Back is a suspenseful and incredible story. Even if you are able to predict certain things it is still refreshing and surprising. That's what keeps you reading until the last page.
I'm not a fan of throw backs in the story, but here, it's very well written and bring a lot to the plot. It allows you to better understand the characters and fall in love with them more and more. And I really love them. Kat is really cute but feisty heroine. And Dane, damn it!, another alpha hero who can very easily appear in not one of your fantasies. Their love in the sheets is sexy and slightly wicked. I don't have to say that I loved it!
But it's not just that what you get here. Actually a much more. Just better to read it yourself and collect your jaw from the floor with twists and changes in action. I really could see the whole series here. Several mysterious supporting characters who I would like to explore closer. I hope that it is not off the table.
Definitely recommend for anyone who fancy an exciting, full of twists and emotions reading.

The book wasn’t what I expected and what I actually understood from the blurb.
I wanted a story about marriage, feelings, reconnecting of the couple etc.
But I got action, suspense, kidnapping and more action.

THREE FINDING LOVE STARS.
"We might be broken, but we’re not done."
Meghan March really knows how to get her readers riled up and ready for a good time. I had no idea what to expect when I picked up this book. And in hindsight I'm glad that's how I approached this novel; with little knowledge of what this book was going to feature. And even though I didn't fall completely in love with the latest from Meghan March I certainly appreciated her reach for something a little different.
What did I like?
There was an authenticity to this story telling that I really liked. March, evidently had a story to tell and it shows in her writing. I loved the setting of the story telling and I was also curiously, intrigued from the start. The hero provided the swoon and the heroine had just the right amount of back bone. All in all a likeable, quick novel that I enjoyed I just didn't tip over into loving my time spent with these characters.
Why not five?
For some reason I never really felt 'settled' into this story. I felt like I needed something more to convince me. Did I like it? Yes, yes, yes. But I felt like the chapters were a little on the rushed side. I'd be getting stuck into where March was taking the story and then I felt like I'd be whipped away to another time or location. More meat on the bones and some lengthier time spend with these characters would have lead me undoubtedly to a higher star rating.

If you are looking for a book in a beautiful setting. With a second chance vibe sprinkled with a little suspense then this novel may very well be your next five star read. Enjoy ... kisses.

This story is about a couple, Kat & Dane, who like other couples have problems. So they decided to go to a ten-day vacation for their second anniversary. And after that they must decide to want to be with each other or prefer to separate.
Kat is always buried in work. Dane thinks when she is with him, she is not present. He used to be proud of her work ethic but now, he is frustrated because it’s why she’s shut him out. But it’s not the only reason that their marriage is endanger. Dane has secrets he didn’t tell her.
Well, it was not what I expected. I really need a romantic book and when I read its blurb I think yes, that’s it! but nope, not happening. I liked it be more about marriage and their feelings but it was more action/suspense than romantic. Don’t get me wrong. It had some hot scenes but still. I just didn’t think the story goes that way. I must add there is flashbacks to the past but they are not much and annoying and the story is a little fast-paced. All in all, I enjoyed it.

This was a very emotional story, full of love and forgiveness. It was told in dual POV and there was a lot of back and forth between the current day and the past, but it was seamless in its presentation.
A charming and steamy story of a married couple that hit a wrong turn and are forced to decide whether or not they can recover. Great action and adventure too! Dane and Kat are explosive together! It's always amazing to see a big, strong, sexy alpha man treat his woman like fine china, to see him admit his faults, and ask for forgiveness.
The author delves into the issue of marital trust, forgiveness, grief, despair, as well as inter- and intra-personal issues. Good book, but it kind of dragged some times. Overall, this is a heart-felt read of a couple on the verge of a break-up that rediscover each other. Prepare to root your heart out for Dane and Kat.

Just because some books ruined my mood, I feel conflicted to pick up this book. I tried to stay away from book with feels, ya know. A second chance romance story with fabulous cover. However, this new Meghan March's book was totally unexpected read for me.
Kat and Dane Cross are trying to repair their two and half years of marriage. Many things cause they drifted away. When Dane "asked" her to go to holiday with him, this is her only chance to make things right. But seeing Dane looks so cold and intense, Kat isn't sure if she worth to back to him.
Kat is really smart, independent and hard-working woman. She has her own business and always buried herself with works. I already sense something's wrong to cause this woman act this way. Moving on with Dane, he isn't a saint either. He seems like an ass at first. They're really awkward like a total stranger. Something definitely wrong.
The story told from 2 POVs between Kat and Dane. There was a bit flashbacks about what's going on between them. Their first met until the sudden marriage. The cause of their problems is communication. They coped with their own grief and sorrow. Both Kat and Dane has serious issues in their life. Of course, the worst happened to Kat. I couldn't agree more. It scared her and I ached for Kat.
After they opened up their feelings, everything's getting better. They joke and flirt again. It was really fun. Like their first date. I loved how detailed Meghan March describe their romantic getaway. The island sounds really wonderful. Yup, finally Kat and Dane has sexy times which was super HOT! Dane was so alpha and dominant and it makes me fan myself.
Of course, they're not really alone in the island. There is another "odd" couple joined them. My spider sense is tingling. As how much the journey, the rest of 50% isn't like what I've anticipated. Totally blown away with the turn out of events. But I already suspect something's coming from Dane's secret.
Overall, I enjoyed the story so much. Totally addicting and well-written; really the author's trademark. I couldn't put this down! However, I wish Kat and Dane has more time to re-build their lost connection. What happened with them is really heart-breaking. I know it isn't easy for everyone to open up. And, they just teach us something about trust & communication in a relationship. In the end, it's a happily ever after ;)

Love when you get a book that surprises you. I was anxious yet nervous for this book. I enjoyed this book, I wish it wasn't so fast like 2.5 days fast. I wish we got more character build, however i still liked it and it definitely kept me sucked it. Loved the ending, loved the epilogue❤️

I highly recommend this book.That is flat-out solid and I definitely won't take it back. Why you ask? My God! I was really not expecting this book to be what it is. That cover coupled with that blurb had me a goner stat. I even had tissues, ice cream, wine and my emotion prepared. But no...hell no.Nothing prepared me for the beauty of this book, because when I finally had the chance to read it? Oh-My-Friggin'-Wow!!! Speechless..utterly and immensely speechless over the fact that this book is excellent in all proportions!
Meghan March outdone herself with this one. And to be honest, up until now I still can't believe what I'm reading!!! I'm still on a Take Me Back bubble and I wanna stay there until I can recover. Don't mind for how long, because seriously this book is the shit! And it's not effing long! But I tell you, what was written, the writing style, and I mean everything was covered. It was condensed in a way that you will feel satiated but because I am a greedy hoe, I am still asking for more! It's not because I wasn't contented but I was so satisfied I don't want the book to end.
Really this book is so satisfying that even with the length of it, I am in a book hangover status. GAHD!!! This never happened to me. As I said, this book is just really is so beautiful. I was hooked and captivated, and if you were wondering, Yes I might have used the tissues I prepared. I needed it, this is my kind of trope and in as much as I was preparing myself over what awaits me, nothing prepared me for the roller coaster of emotions I had with this book. Damn, the twists and turns of the events had me on the edge and I am telling you, that ice cream? No use at all, even the wine I was trying to chug, nada! I cannot put the reader down much less leave for a moment just to drink or eat. I was engrossed and my adrenaline keep me going. And what a beautiful experience I have with it. As I said, book hangover!!!

Take Me Back is not what I was expecting, it is so much more. It has the romance, the steamy scenes, and the suspense readers have come to love from Meghan March, but Take Me Back is on another level entirely, the epitome of everything readers love about her books.
The two characters, Dane and Kat, are attempting to salvage their marriage. Both have been hurt, both have built walls, and both have secrets, but what they also have is an immense love for each other and a desire to fix it. With the dual point of view narration, the readers are able to clearly see how much they love each other still and how much they want it to work, which pulls readers in and makes them want it to work out, too. On top of seeing how much they still care and value each other, Kate and Dane are good people. They are kind and compassionate, and they will do anything for the people they love, which makes them even more honorable characters and only serves to form an even deeper allegiance for these two . From the moment readers meet Kat and Dane, they will cheer on their reconciliation, and their devotion to these characters and their happily ever after will only increase with each page that is read.
This plot is one of Meghan March's best. They way she integrates to romance of Dane and Kat with the secondary plot of the story is fantastic. Readers won't see it coming, and once they do, they won't be able to put the book down. They will be biting their nails and reading as fast as they can to see how Dane and Kat's story will play out. What I can tell readers is that Meghan March doesn't let you down! This story is among her very best books EVER!

OH. MY. GOD!!!! I still don't know what the hell I read 2 days of finishing this book. It was captivating, enthralling, and suspenseful. The blurb is not the book but it hooks you in and this review will be the most vague review you have probably ever read in your entire life.
Meghan March, I don't know what happened here but whatever it is, needs to happen more. Because this book has blown my mind away!!! I've always been a fan of her work this this was NOT at all what I had ever expected in a million years. You took everything that I expected and threw it out the window. It was that good!
Kat and Dane have been together for 2 years and taking this anniversary vacation is what they need to get back to what they once had. They're a shell of what they used to be. Every page is something something new; a new adventure, a new mystery. What you thought you knew, you really didn't. There's so many twists and turns, it's going to blow your mind away.
When this book comes out on Tuesday, everyone needs to stop what they're doing and just read this book! It was amazing, suspenseful, and refreshing!!!!

Sexy, intense, emotional and surprising. Wow, Meghan March! What a read!

Once again Meghan March has taken me on a wonderfully intense ride that had me mesmerised from start to finish. Heartbreaking, sweet, sexy and romantic, this book has all the feels, but it’s an unexpected journey so please don’t go looking for details, just dive in and experience it without any expectations. You won’t be sorry!
I love the concept for this story. Rather than your ordinary ‘boy meets girl’ story, this time we are getting the story of a couple who met, fell in love and married in a whirlwind romance and who now, two years later, are still very much in love, but who have let their marriage fall apart.
After two years of marriage they are pretty much living separate lives, so Dane and Kat take a tropical holiday together in the hopes of sorting through their issues, rekindling all that they have lost and finding their way forward together.
Right from the very beginning my heart ached for these two characters. The story is written in dual POV so we can see that they are both suffering, that they are lost and unsure of how to fix their problems. Their marriage has been overtaken by grief, pain and secrets, but there’s this sense of hope that they’re going to work it out, and I was pulling them from the very beginning.
Their time away is intense and heart-wrenching, but there are moments of lightness, glimpses of the happiness that they had (and could still have), and of course there is steamy hot passion. And all of it is full of emotion as everything is finally laid on the table. It’s captivating and unexpected, and I was glued to my kindle as it all played out.
And throughout the book we are given delicious little glimpses of their life together – from their first meeting, to the highs and lows that have bought them to where they are now - and I loved that we got to see those special moments because it adds to much depth to what they are going through in the present.
I love Dane and Kat! Both of them are incredibly strong and stubborn, but they have been through a lot and their vulnerabilities are shown beautifully – both in the past and the present. And even though they have lost their way, their love for each other shines through every encounter, and I loved watching them put their hearts out there to find that again.
Meghan March is an auto-buy author for me, and this book is a great example of why. Sexy, intense, emotional and romantic, her books never fail to suck me in, and I love how she doesn’t always take the predictable route when it comes to her storytelling. It keeps her books fresh, and her stories are always ones that I am keen to dive into.

Not being truthful came back to bite them...

I nearly gave up on this story, to be honest, and I only bumped my rating up to three stars because the action scenes towards the end were good. At the halfway point, I was frustrated with the time-jumping, that the main characters were still not connecting, and the eye strain from my eyes just about rolling out of my head.
The storyline was too unbelievable, the relationship between the main characters was a mess (of their own making), and I skimmed over the sexy times because I didn't feel their connection. I hate relationships that start with lies. Admitting to the lies only when their hand is forced and saying you withheld the information to protect them, shows a lack of trust and belief in your partner's strength.
The heroine was supposed to be this savvy businesswoman with inner strength, but she came across as clumsy, doey and very *damsel in distress*. I understand she's faced some pretty horrible losses in her life but they didn't seem to be the reason for her wrong choices.
I'm all for a strong hero who likes to protect his woman, but in this case, not being truthful left the heroine vulnerable. Again, I understood his horrible losses left him reeling but those losses should have been the reason why he kept his wife informed and aware.
Together, these two seemed wrong in and out of the bedroom. To bring role-play into the bedroom when they haven't done it before or been intimate for a long time, seemed weird. I didn't feel the love.
I've had Take Me Back sitting on my Kindle for yonky donks. While it wasn't a success, I'm glad to have crossed one off my To Be Read pile.

“I’m no hero, but there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for you.”
This was a super fast listen/read for me and a very good one. This is one of those books where you’re expecting something and instead you get something else. I was pleasantly surprised though and I really enjoyed it. It’s also one of those books that are hard to review because you could potentially spoil the whole thing. I really loved both main characters, especially Dane. I also loved the whole romance, marriage part of the story. It was so sweet and real. I loved how it was written and how she did the flashbacks, the transitions were great and seamless. So while the first part of the book kept me hooked, unfortunately for me, I saw the second part coming a mile away and I was able to call it. And I say for me, cause it’s a me problem and not a book problem. And it’s probably because I have read similar books, with somewhat similar plots like the one in the second part of this book. So, I wasn’t as excited by the second part as I was by the beginning, which I absolutely loved. This doesn’t take away from the fact that it was a great read. And the epilogue was so sweet! You know how much I love epilogues.
Meghan March is an author that I really, really want to love for a variety of reasons, one of them being that she’s an absolute sweetheart, but I have yet to read a book of hers that I absolutely love. Unexpected and absolutely fabulous!
I had heard a lot about this book before diving in. Not about the plot so much – people were being very cagey about that – but about the unexpectedness of it. How surprising it was… I’ve read a lot of books – a LOT. Honestly, I was skeptical. Not that I didn’t want to be wow-ed – I always do! I just didn’t want to get my hopes up so high only to have them dashed… Thankfully, I had nothing to fear! This story was all that (the chips and the dessert too).
“Kat might have built the wall, but I handed her the bricks.”
Kat and Dane were at a crossroads in their relationship. And that is about the only predictable thing about their story. Their feelings, the way they dealt with them, had me immediately investing in them and their future. This author always has a way to make her characters so real, so relatable, and this time out was no exception. There was pain and guilt, regret on both sides, and I could feel it in each conversation. Yup, there were feels aplenty as their future became even more uncertain… How is that possible? Well, that is where the unexpectedness comes in…
If you are looking for a second-chance romance, one filled with sadness and heartache, deep love and surprises at every turn than you have picked up the right book. LOVED IT! -Diane, 5 stars

Take Me Back wasn't quite what I expected. See, I love me a second chance romance, throw in a marriage in difficulty and I'm in my happy place. Whilst this is what this book was, I felt this took a side seat to the turn the story took in the second half , making the marriage difficulties a side issue that were way too easily resolved.
That said, I liked Take Me Back but just wish the author had concentrated more on their relationship, their characters which I wanted to get to know more, and see them work and fight to save their marriage rather than it all being done in 2.5 days.
