From what I can tell, my opinions on this manhwa clearly fall into the "unpopular" category. The art is amazing, no doubt, but most of the story itself irritated me. I mean, everyone spontaneously falls in love with Elise, and not a single person dislikes her despite her fame? She solves all the problems that the empire faces (partially due to her knowing what will happen in the future) and no one questions it?? The prince is liTERALLY THE BLANDEST ML I'VE EVER ENCOUNTERED??? THEY DON'T HAVE CARS BUT THEY DO HAVE AED'S???? SOMEONE MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.

Yeah. I was certainly expecting more considering just how much hype surrounds this, and while I did make my way through the entire thing, I never really got what I was expecting, or anything even remotely near it.

دیدن دو قسمت اول انیمه باعث شد جذب داستانش بشم و بیام سراغ خوندن این مانهوا
داستان خوبی داشت ولی نتونست من رو تا انتها جذب خودش نگه داره ، تا چپتر ۹۲ (از ۱۴۳ چپتر) خوندم و نیمه رهاش کردم و رفتم چند قسمت آخر رو خوندم.
از پایانش هم راضی بودم .

Read up to chapter 120 something

It started off strong and though the world building wasn't solid, they did mention key snippets that (conveniently) made sense when put together- and it's an isekai so I went along for the ride. I loved how we got a horrible rich heroine who got killed and reincarnated as a orphan child on Earth in present-day Korea (though this is only shown as flashbacks). We get to see how and why she changed both, her attitude and dream as we follow her training to be a doctor after she dies again and gets reincarnated in her old body. I really liked this arc - I mean we get a kickass heroine who show cases the intelligence and medical advancements she learnt over her 30 years on Earth. Super binge worthy reading her defy odds and expectations

But... then this became tiring as we see feat after feat of incredible yet repetitive medical advancements, procedures and surgeries amidst the snail-pacing of political drama and wars going on that dampened my interest.

The key flaw for me was the pacing. We're thrown in situations where the atmosphere is so tight and yet it gets resolved both, far too tediously and then way too quickly for any pay-off. Coupled with how slow the romance was and how girlishly cliche Elise would become as she wondered about the Prince, it got too much and I had to quit for fear of excessive rolling. It didn't help that all the male blond characters literally look alike - HELLA HARD distinguishing the brothers from Mil (at least Ron had his sparkles).

Ta bueno, como no identifico muy bien dónde termina uno y dónde inicia el otro daré mi reseña aquí mismo cuando termine de leer todos.

No sé cómo abordar esto al cien porque tengo opiniones diversas, por un lado me encantó por como me hizo sentir y lo bonito que es de leer y por el otro pues es excesivamente perfecto, con perfecto refiriéndome a qué todo es muy conveniente para la trama y a Elise mágicamente nada le sale mal, no que me moleste pero está para considerarse.

Puntos positivos (fangirleo askffksñajfhwdfghjklñ):

-Se me antojaron todos los postres.
-Como Elise se enfoca tanto en seguir su pasión es muy bonito y motivador.
-Mil es un personaje muy bonito, su descenlace me dejó un poco triste pero espero el también encuentre a alguien que lo haga feliz.
-Toda la guerra me encantó, como le dan tanta importancia a curar a sus hombres, que Elise haya ido para salvar a quien amaba, basta, amo.
-Tenemos una heroína dorada, ella de verdad brilla solita, no necesita a nadie, Linden es su Ken.
-LINDEN ASDFGHJKLÑLAKDDJJD, lo amo mucho, es que basta, como se enamoro de a poquito, el verdadero "she fell first but he fell harder", Y COMO HIZO COMEBACK EN LA SEGUNDA VIDA AÑGKSJGGJSLALAKAK.
-El dibujo final donde ponen todos los títulos/honores/logros/comosediga de Elise, Ayno me encanta, Y EL ÚLTIMO LOGRO DE LA LISTA!??? "LA AMADA ESPOSA DE LINDEN" BASTA LES JURO QUE LLORÉ ES BUENÍSIMO, LINDEN TE AMO, NECESITO ALGUIEN COMO TÚ.


Puntos negativos (no que sean muy negativos pero que me dejaron de que ¿bro?):

-Aún no existe el teléfono pero tienen rayos x por un supuesto mago doctor alquimista(?
-Elise se aventó tremendas operaciones improbables y TODAS con éxito, mínimo nos hubieran mostrado algunos fallos para hacerlo más orgánico.
-Nunca vimos como Linden le decía a Elise que él era Ron, ¿PORQUE? yo quería ver una escena bonita al respecto 😡
-Chris y Yulian, re forzado, o sea yo ya los shippeaba pero pues no sé porque si casi nunca hablaron en toda la serie, los apoyo pero me hubiera gustado ver más.
-Todos se enamoraban de Elise, ok si, es súper guapa y bien linda, capaz yo igual me enamoraba, pero es que en algunas ocasiones no aportaba, ¿Para que ponían al pobre doctor a enamorarse de ella? Si jamás le iba a hacer caso, todavía entiendo que pusieran a Mil a enamorarse porque pues eso hace que Elise tenga como otro guardian(? Pero el doctor nada que ver, lo pusieron a sufrir de a gratis.
-Ya no nos volvieron a mostrar al hermano de Yulian, me hubiera gustado saber cómo seguía... Bueno mejor así, capaz también se enamoraba de Elise.

Read this because of the anime but i still think the anime was better.
The beginning was strong and addicting but the plot progressed unreasonably and was kinda dragging toward the end of the manhwa.

از اولین مانهواهایی که خوندم و وای
در کنار ژانر فانتزی و عاشقانه و تناسخی ای که داشت، اطلاعات پزشکی جالبی هم داشت.
هیجانش عالی بود. روند داستان خیلی خوب و اتفاقا به نظرم به موقع بودن. آرت این مانهوا هم خیلی زیبا بود. با ارت های مانهوا ها احساس زنده بودن میکنم. چون بی نظیر زیبان:))))
همه ی شخصیت ها به نوبه ی خودشون دوست داشتنی بودن.
الیزه شجاع بود. ولی گاهی اوقات هم میترسید. لیندلن جدی بود ولی گاهی اوقات هم گریه میکرد.
همه اینا برای همه کارکترا باعث میشد حس واقعی بودنشون رو حس کنم.
این مانهوای رو بی نهاست دوست دارم. کامل هم اومده و کامل هم ترجمه شده.

Un Webtoon de drama histórico, con un toque de romance y una pizca de magia; su dibujo lindo y visualmente atractivo lo hacen agradable de leer.

Doctor Elise, es como dice su nombre, una chica que reencarna en su antigua vida con conocimiento que adquirió en su vida moderna, estos son médicos; su viaje para revolucionar el siglo y convertirse en una gran doctora inicia aquí.
La trama es tranquila y hay poco romance, pero su ritmo suave la hacen fácil de leer, aún con los términos médicos tocados de una manera muy superficial.

Second read-through of this series:

This series goes for a more intermediate 'isekai'/'transmigration'/'villainess' set up. She previous existed in this not-London world, lived as a villainess, died, reincarnated on earth, lived as a doctor, died, transmigrated back to her previous life around the time she was 16, and tries to improve this time around. Being used to these tropes makes it much easier to follow the story and see how well they overlap/compliment each other. Either way, the setup works well to explain Elise's fear of going down the same path while also justifying her confidence in problem solving.

Like most transmigrations, once Elise is settled in her final life, she hits the ground running on fixing the future. You can see to some degree that the writer planned out the events of the story ahead of time as Elise lists out almost every issue she'll tackle in the story. I personally enjoyed the fact that the series includes her love for her family and relief that they're all alive in this timeline (and there's no beaf with the step mother)

The series decides to focus on the element that makes it unique first before delving into the romance, in fact, it makes the romantic interest a point of conflict for the first half of the series. The beginning focuses on getting Elise into a hospital and showcasing her skills as a surgeon. It does slightly shoehorn in the fact that she's aware of the future military conquests and her knowledge influences those results rather promptly. That aside the series magic really begins with her being assigned to a family hospital were she masquerades as a noble named Rose. Her abilities are underestimated and she starts from the bottom showcasing both her knowledge of modern medicine and clinical practices as well as the writer's detailed understanding of the medical world. Despite there being a lot of jargon involved, the writer conveys the solution to medical issues in such a way that any reader can get the gist of what occurred. Overall it's and enjoyable read filled with drama, suspense, and heartwarming moments.

The art is one of my all time favorites. The sketchier style mixed with very clean coloring is quite pleasing. The series has an excellent balance between majority pastels and bright colors and use of jewel tones occasionally. It also transitions well into the more intense moments including expressions, blood, and horror. Perfectly captures a more feminine style while still having a dramatic and dark tale.

Overall it's a delightful read and quite pleasing to look at.

J'étais un peu sceptique au départ, mais j'ai su me laisser entrainer par l'intrigue autour d'Élise qui revient à la vie, mais avec l'âme d'une doctoresse de notre monde qui lisait cette histoire.
La voilà bien décidée à changer le destin d'Élise qui va tout faire pour soigner les gens et intégrer une école de médecine.
J'ai bien aimé le scénario qui ne me parait pas bateau et les dessins sont plutôt sympas. Affaire à suivre 😊

Usando o primeiro da história para dizer que história perfeita. Uma das melhores leituras do ano. Ela é dividida em 3 atos:
1) A volta ao mundo, mudança e conquista médica - me diverti horrores.
2) A guerra - amei acompanhar, adrenalina a mil.
3) A luta dos irmãos - me doeu muito e fiquei preocupada por 50 capítulos, a mais difícil de ler.

I won't be reviewing every single volume because it's not worth it. This was a string of conveniences and plot-holes. The MC was so badly written I don't know what to begin with. For someone who's gone through three lifetimes, amounting to over 60 years, she had the mental age of a 16y old. The rest of the characters weren't much better. They were mostly flat.

Premis cerita bertemakan reikarnasi secara umum adalah merubah nasib di kehidupan kedua. Premis ini banyak ditemukan tidak hanya pada komik-komik reikarnasi asal Korea Selatan, tapi juga novel-novel asal Tiongkok. Awalnya kisah-kisah semacam ini sangat menyenangkan untuk dibaca, tapi lama kelamaan akan terasa membosankan apalagi jika alur nya mirip. Tewas di kehidupan pertama, bereinkarnasi di kehidupan kedua dan merubah nasib dengan menikahi pria mapan. Namun ada beberapa yang merubah nasib dengan memutuskan hubungan dengan sang pria dan memilih profesi lain (The Abandoned Empress, contohnya). Doctor Elise termasuk ke dalam kategori ini.

Pada kehidupan pertama, Elise merupakan anak bungsu di keluarga Marquess Clorence dan terkenal memiliki sifat buruk. Dia tewas setelah mendapat hukuman mati karena dianggap berkhianat. Kemudian di kehidupan kedua, Elise bereikarnasi menjadi seorang yatim piatu bernama Song Ji Hyeon. Di kehidupan ini, Elise merubah nasibnya dan berhasil menjadi ahli bedah terbaik di Korea Selatan. Akan tetapi sebuah kecelakaan pesawat merenggut kehidupan keduanya dan dia kembali terbangun sebagai Elise Clorence.

Ini pertama kalinya aku membaca kisah di mana karakter utamanya bereinkarnasi dua kali. Bagian ini menjadikannya berbeda dari kisah-kisah reinkarnasi lainnya. Selain itu, latar tempat Doctor Elise juga berbeda. Setelah membaca beberapa episode, aku berpikir latar tempat Doctor Elise merupakan kerajaan Inggris namun dimodifikasi sedikit.

Awalnya ku kira desain pakaian yang dikenakan karakter-karakter Doctor Elise terinspirasi dari Elizabethan era. Karena ada teater Romeo dan Juliet di salah satu episode, jadi ku pikir illustratornya mengambil fashion style era Elizabethan. Tapi desain pakaian yang dikenakan Linden dan Raja sangat berbeda dari gaya pakaian pria di era Elizabethan. Mungkin illustratornya mencampur beberapa gaya pakaian dan membuat desain baru. Ini bukan sesuatu yang illegal, sebenarnya. Tapi jujur saja, otakku berpikir sangat keras mencari referensi apa yang digunakan illustrator saat mendesain karakter Doctor Elise.

Aspek lainnya yang membuatku tertarik membaca Doctor Elise adalah ilmu medis yang menjadi “jantung” cerita. Fokus utama pada Doctor Elise adalah bagaimana Elise merubah nasibnya serta masa depan keluarga dan kerajaan dengan menjadi dokter. Pengetahuan medis dan contoh kasusnya pun dijabarkan dengan sangat detail, tidak hanya sekadar “bagaimana bisa dia melakukan itu?” atau menggunakan deskripsi berlebihan seolah-olah Elise sangat jenius. Tidak seperti itu. Pada Doctor Elise, kita bisa mengetahui kemampuan Elise sebagai ahli bedah dari caranya menjabarkan gejala dan pengobatannya. Sejujurnya, sekarang kalau aku menemukan narasi yang melebih-lebihkan kemampuan si tokoh utama tanpa menunjukkannya, aku menganggapnya sebagai “lazy writing“.

Secara keseluruhan, meski premisnya sedikit membosankan, namun Doctor Elise memiliki keunikan tersendiri dalam menyajikan cerita bertema reinkarnasi.

La nota serían 2'5 estrellas, pero redondeo hacia arriba. La obra tenía potencial, pero se queda en poco. Elise, la protagonista, quiere dedicarse a la medicina y para eso usa sus conocimientos avanzados de su otra vida en la Tierra como cirujana. Eso daba para una obra médica y para luchar por mejorar la medicina. Pero aún así les veo los siguientes defectos:

- A Elise le sale todo demasiado bien. Aún con conocimientos avanzados todo el mundo comete errores, pero ella no, ella es perfecta: puede hacer cualquier operación sin importar lo difícil que sea (que vale que tenga conocimiento, pero una persona con los conocimientos modernos igual iba a poder hacer poco en las cirugías del siglo XIX al no tener la tecnología, limpieza, etcétera adecuados), nunca pierde pacientes, acaba con epidemias en días y todo el mundo se enamora de ella. Al final no hay ninguna emoción porque sabes que simplemente Elise se sacará algo de la manga. Cometer fallos es humano y que no salga todo perfecto mágicamente hace las historias más creíbles e interesantes.

- Hilado con lo anterior, la evolución de Elise ocurre fuera de cámara. Se supone que fue una villana en su primera vida y murió ajusticiada por ello, pero nunca se cuenta qué es lo que hizo que supuestamente era tan mala. De forma que cuando la historia comienza simplemente ya es un ángel en su intento por redimirse y de ahí no pasa. Ver su evolución y cómo decide redimirse habría sido mucho más interesante.

- La magia sobra mucho. Es algo que no se explica y sólo aparece mágicamente (valga la redundancia) para salvar a la pareja protagonista en un momento en que hace falta y luego se olvida. Porque si se usara medicina mágica al menos sería interesante.

- La relación. Lo siento, no puedo. No trago que alguien que mató a Elise en su primera vida sea el interés romántico porque de pronto sí se enamora de ella y que ella corresponda. Por favor, la QUEMÓ VIVA en su primera vida. Da igual lo que hiciera tan terrible (que nunca se cuenta), ni siendo una genocida (y por lo que se intuye era simplemente una niñata mimada que quería atención, mientras que él hizo matanzas, ¿por qué es ella la malvada villana y él el pobre que la tiene que aguantar y no al revés?) habría merecido Elise una muerte tan cruel. No puedo creerme que Elise sea capaz de sentir nada por él a parte de miedo, asco o trauma. Y es enfermizo que ella lo excuse siquiera. Sin contar que la relación sobra mucho porque habría quedado infinitamente mejor que Elise se dedicara a su pasión de la medicina. El romance es relleno.

- Las tramas secundarias de guerra y conspiraciones están muy poco desarrolladas. Cuentan tres detalles sueltos y ya. Que se enfoquen bien en la visión médica, por ejemplo, habría sido muy interesante Elise reflexionando sobre el horror y lo innecesario de la guerra al ver el sufrimiento en el hospital; bien en las conspiraciones y las guerras por poner, pero contar ambas por encima sin darles importancia no.

Para matar el rato está bien y el dibujo es bonito, pero no es gran cosa como obra.

The cover for this manhwa is so misleading that I was encouraged to read it at all. The only reason I did, was after several months of the initial seeing it, and only because I had run out of manhwa and I desperately needed one. I mean come one, the cover shows a girl with a teddie-bear, it just feels too childish!
But it turned out to be really good. It's a very nice combination of isekai genre and medical drama, and since I'm a fan of both, I really enjoyed it. My only issue with the storyline is that Elise could have just given them the information without being so much at the center of attention, but well, that wouldn't work in a manhwa protagonist, would it? :D

The art is also nice, I especially enjoy the clothing, it just inspires me. The only thing I don't understand is why the illustrator has chosen to draw almost all the important males the same way? Her father, her two brothers, the king, third prince and metamorphized version of the first prince all are blond guys. Seriously, how are we supposed to tell them apart when they just suddenly pop up and we have no idea which one of them is it? :D otherwise, the art is really lovely.

Doctor Elise is a book inspired by Florence Nightingale, actually I would go as far as to say that this is basically Florence Nightingale's story with more fantasy, more romance and more royalty.
Most of the events in Florence Nightingale's life are included here (her changing the death rate, becoming a doctor, really the title says it all), if you are someone that thinks reading a book about Florence would be entertaining i recommend that you read the light novel for this manga.
This manga is very entertaining, and the illustrations are just absolutely magnificent.

update: now that i have read more i can with confidence say that this is definitely a Florence Nightingale retelling, i am currently having an essay on here and everything i wrote down in the essay was mentioned here, it made writing an essay much more fun than it would have usually been and i'm really grateful for it lmao

Well, this is freaking cute! I totally recommend! I hate isekai in anime but I love it when it's manhwa!

This a manhwa about a current day doctor named Elise who remembers her past reincarnated self. Something happens to Elise that causes her to go back into her previous life. Unfortunately, she used to be an evil Queen who then gets sentenced to death by her husband, the King. Now that she's back she will do anything in her power to change her future and bring good to the people of the kingdom instead of evil by putting her medical knowledge to use!

Read this if you love romance. Read this if you love cinnamon rolls. Read this if you love a strong women.

Warning: everything always goes right when it comes to Elise. She's always there to save the day. I know some people hate that. I don't.

Me gusta un montón que la protagonista haya decidido cambiar su pasado y que con el transcurso al querer expiar sus pecados encontrase una verdadera vocación, me encanta la situación en la que al venir del futuro sepa de unas técnicas de medicinas que en su vida pasada no estaban y ella revolucione ese mundo. Además, cómo no... Amo al príncipe, al principio le da igual con quién casarse, sabe que al ser un príncipe no tiene importancia sus sentimientos pero va conociendo a ésta nueva Elise y se enamora de ella poco a poco, de su inteligencia, de sus habilidades, de lo buena que es y un largo etc, se interesa por ella y se preocupa mucho 🙈

I really thought that this was just going to be another trying-hard-to-be-medical-related manga and only started reading it because of a friend's recommendation, but boy was I wrong. Being an Isekai, it started with the same plot as other mangas of the same genre but from there built up unique characters of which the readers will surely love. Although, for me, the only downside was the protagonist's (Elise) age. Apart from that, it's a fun read.

This book has been one of my favorites this year. I loved the moments where the main character, Elise, showed bravery and how she showed all the other people of what she was capable of. The romance in this book is also amazing, one of the best romances I have ever read and I would recommend this book to anyone who loves reading the books where the MC goes back into the past and changes themselves to become a better person, and also romance books.

Have to wait until May 5 to read the next chapter (and this is why I am so against reading ongoing stories).

The thing with this manhwa, though, is it took us 100+ chapters for the OTP ship to finally sail (not that I am complaining but there were a lot of fillers). Also, I kinda wish that Elise started from the bottom and slowly ascend her way up in the medical field (that would be awesome).
