Definitely not my favorite Alexa Riley. Still good compared to other authors, but lacking the classic AR pizzazz. The characters were okay and the plot was meh. The pacing and length did not match up well.

This was another lovely short read by Alexa following Erin's best friend Jenna.

Jenna has put up with her new boss Reed for months now. The man is bossy and knows what he wants, which is her.

I really liked this book, it was steamy and so sweet! Little Lucas was a treasure and I really loved the connection that quickly turned them into a little family.

Sweet steamy read with lovely epilogues and a bonus short story.

Yashhh!! So this is book short novella that you can hear free on readmeromance podcasts or get the ebook.

I listened to it. Jenna is Erin's best friend in book one and shes dealing with her bossy boss who she thinks doesn't like her but deep down he only bought thr coffee shop because he wanted her. But he's been letting her have some space because she has alot on her plate a child (he thinks is hers which it isn't thats her brother) now the tension is high when he finds out she's going on a mini vacation and he's afraid someone might take her away from him so he tags along to the wedding. And he's finally making his move and showing her shes his.

Ebook has Epilogues so if you want that woo!

No ow/om drama, No cheating, slight secondary character, sexy times, virgin gal and no manwhore

Jenna ha tenido que cuidar a su hermano pequeño a una edad en la que solo se piensa en salir con amigxs, así que se ha mantenido siempre en el trabajo tratando de sacar adelante a ella y a su hermanito (adorable por cierto), hasta que un tipo -loco- se queda prendado de ella al verla atender la cafetería, y como buen loco, compra el lugar solo para estar cerca de ella. Pero Jenna, contra todo pronostico ni lo pena porque tiene demasiado en mente (digo que no lo pela pero en realidad se hacía gelatina a lado de él). Es sexy como se espera, pero después de leer Snow and Mistletoe o Flight Risk, me subió las expectativas. En fin.
Este es un libro Insta love, como la mayoría escritos por Alexa Riley, aun que esta vez el libro fue un poco aburrido. Creo que sabemos en que terminará el final del libro, pero a diferencia de otros (que te mantenían mas ensimismada en la historia y te daban un poco de sorpresas), este fue largo y difícil de prestar atención. Anyway, no me puedo quejar cuando se sabe que es corto y "rápido".

if you read lovely neighbor, you know about reed and jenna but not their entire story. jenna works at the bakery owned by reed. working hard to raise her younger brother, jenna isn’t entirely comfortable with trusting others or accepting help. also, she isn’t thinking about going into a relationship but her hot boss is making her question everything as he barged into her life. it was short, sweet, and steamy.

'Tenía muchas expectativas con esta historia debido al libro anterior, o sea, me dejaron con la gran intriga porque AMO los libros donde queda implícito que no se conocen desde hace unos días sino meses. Aunque fue un poco corto para mi gusto definitivamente vale la pena y el bonus al final es impactante, pero no les diré de quién es el bonus, sería spoiler, solo les diré que tengan la mente abierta y que no esperen algo clásico de Alexa Riley.

Este libro trata sobre Jenna y Reed, una pareja que ha bailado uno alrededor del otro desde el momento en que se conocieron.

Jenna no tiene tiempo para enamorarse, tiene que cuidar a su hermano Lucas porque su madre lo abandonó desde hace mucho. Cosa que no sabe que Reed conoce. Reed sabe todo sobre Jenna, incluso algo tan importante. Reed intenta avanzar lento pero seguro en cuanto a Jenna se trata pero cuando ella pide tiempo libre por una semana para ir a la boda de su mejor amiga solo aparecen locos pensamientos como "¿Acaso en las bodas no es que se enamora la gente?" es así como decide dejar en claro que ella es de él y hará todo lo que sea necesario para reclamarla, cosa que no es tan difícil, ya que Jenna está loca por él pero no lo acepta.

Lucas se termina encariñando con Reed y al final a Jenna no le queda de otra que aceptar sus sentimientos sabiendo finalmente con seguridad que Reed nunca podría herirla. Son tan adorables.

I didn't enjoy this one. Normally, I like the instant-love and angsty hero that's hard with everyone but the heroine but this wasn't just it. I can't even begin to say the things I found wrong with this book. After reading it, I let my feelings simmer so I would be able to give an impartial review. Alas, I haven't found one good thing to say about this one.

First things first; I love the cover of this book!
Lovely baker is book two in the lovely series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Reed has wanted his employee since he bought the business she works at. Will he ever make a move?
The chemistry between Jenna and Reed is clear to see and I liked them together.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read.

I honestly wish they would write longer books because I loved the Everything for Her series. It was brilliant and I want more of it.

Reed and Jenna

Oh! I so enjoyed this one. We were introduced to this two in the previous book of this series, though brevely, and I couldn't wait to read their story. And I must say I wasn't disappointed! Reed is a amazing H, totally in love with Jenna and ready and willing to do anything to get her. Jenna has been taking care off her little brother and herself for most of her life. She is no used to in leaning on anybody but when Reed offers her security, support and love she find it hard to resist. Fantastic writing, great plot and likeable characters. Highly recommended.

Jenna work hard at caring her little brother and at the bakery. The last thing she needs is the new owner to be so hot to distract her. This was a fun insta-everything romance.

I love the author and was eagerly anticipating this book but, it flopped for me like dead fish. Girl meets boy; likes boy but keeps to herself because he doesn't seem to like her however boy does like girl and doesn't know how to express it like an adult. They finally get over themselves, THE END! LITERALLY lol. Do what you will with your time.😁

Who doesn't love a good short read when it comes to Alexa Riley?! Jenna is working hard to provide for her son while her new boss seems to be giving her trouble left and right. She doesn't quite realize just how into her he is until she has to leave for her best friend's wedding. Will Reed be just the man she's been looking for or will he tire of her when he finds out about how life is with her son? There were definitely some steamy scenes in this one! 🔥🔥

Gah. Hard-working but struggling lady gets pursued by big-hearted rich guy. It's like catnip! And AR does it so well. Jenna's a sweet lady, running the bakery and raising a child that isn't hers. Her boss, Reed, is odd. Oddly off-putting, and yet oddly appealing. Especially odd when he shows up on the first vacation she's taken in forever. A decadent and delightful story with plenty of sweetness and spice.

Lovely Baker by Alexa Riley

HERO - Reed. Owner of a security business and, as of 6 months ago, a coffee shop. Tattoos.

HEROINE - Jenna. Coffee shop manager. Guardian to her little brother, Lucas. Brunette.

OVERALL THOUGHTS - I’m frustrated. I’m a HUGE fan of Alexa Riley’s works, but this one fell flat. The writing is still good - it’s not clunky or anything - but the details of everything are so vague or nonexistent. This was also one of the least steamy works I’ve ever read by them. They’ve written sweeter reads on purpose before, so I get that, but this one is described as “hot and dirty” in the blurb. Most of my frustrations with this book will be under the spoiler tag.

We’re never given full descriptions of the characters. Reed could be bald for all we know. We’re never told the characters’ last names or their ages. We’re never told Lucas’s age. We never see Jenna tell Reed that Lucas is her brother, just that he’s not her biological son. We’re never told what the deal is with Jenna and Lucas’s mother. Reed owns a security business, but we never see anything happen with it. It may as well have not existed. The novella is called Lovely Baker, but Jenna does zero baking. In fact, for the vast majority of the story all the characters call it a coffee shop. Jenna doesn’t think about baking, doesn’t talk about baking, and in fact, when Reed first stopped at the coffee shop all he ordered was coffee. Baking was literally a non-thing until the very END of the book. What was the point of this book??

Two stars from me, and only because it’s well-written. I enjoyed the bonding between Lucas and Reed. Reed was also very sweet with Jenna. Everything else is a mess.

Reed ha estado enamorado de Jenna desde que paró en la panadería donde ella trabajaba y se quedó toda la tarde solo para verla. Ha tenido que aguantar mucho tiempo esperando una oportunidad para poder convencerla de estar juntos pero se acabó la espera. Una boda es la mejor forma de que salga otra no?

El primer libro estuvo muy bien y le tenía muchas ganas a este pero Alexa hizo esta historia relámpago. Mucho mucho más rápido que las otras, no me quejo, o bueno un poquito solo porque me apetecía leer más sobre estos dos, pero vamos que aún así me ha encantado. Me encantó Reed con Lucas 😍 que hombreton tan mono por favor ❤️
En fin, ya sabéis que Alexa nunca decepciona así que... Definitivamente recomendado!

Thot u shud know....the heroine is a mother ..BUT the baby is actually her brother not her own(HEROINE IS A VARRRRGEEEEENNN)..there is more than 10 years age difference b/w the brother and sister and she has been taking his care from the start coz there mother was a junkie.
