Inspiring book. Mostly color photographs. The text is general and vague so do not expect clear instruction. My take on the text is more of a tips and thoughts of the author. Obviously, you can't learn how to paint such detail from one how-to book anyway. If you are interested in the author's work and would like to know how she thinks, this book will be rewarding for you. It is worth the money just for the pictures alone. Definitely inspirational!

I love Marie Angel's art and calligraphy. The style I am trying to develop involves a mix of calligraphy and realistic, detailed watercolour animals. I have a different purpose from Angel's (I'm into art as part of memory systems), but I still found this book incredibly informative and inspiring. I learnt so much and finished it with even more enthusiasm for my goals. Highly recommended.
