Wild #2.5

Forever Wild

Rate this book
From the international best selling author of The Simple Wild comes Forever Wild, a novella that continues the story of Calla’s journey to the Alaskan wild and a life she never imagined for herself.

The holiday season is upon Calla and Jonah, and with the mistletoe and gingerbread comes plenty of family drama. Jonah is bracing himself for two weeks with a stepfather he loathes, and while Calla is looking forward to her mother and Simon’s arrival, she dreads the continued pressure to set a date for their wedding … in Toronto. Add in one bullheaded neighbor’s unintentional meddling and another cantankerous neighbor’s own family strife, and Christmas in Trapper’s Crossing will be anything but simple.

this is a lovely little novella and the perfect epilogue to jonah and callas story.

its short, its sweet, its exactly the domestic christmasy cheer i needed with all the characters i have come to adore and a place i cant wait to visit. alaska is definitely on my list of post-covid travel destinations.

im so sad that i can only recommend this those who have read the first two books, because its such a delight.

i seriously want to have all the book covers of this series as paintings and hang them all over my house. They’re just so warm and atmospheric!

This was a nice sweet conclusion of Calla and Jonah’s story that put a huge smile on my face. It’s the holiday season and both their families and all their friends and Roy are here and It’s such a sweet lovely celebration.

I don’t read many holiday romances but this one was so sweet and cute specially because it’s about characters I really care about. It was such a nice and cozy holiday read that made me feel so warm. This book is the perfect wrap up of their Alaskan journey. One day though When were are no longer in a pandemic and I’m no longer broke I’m gonna take that trip to Alaska!!

When I saw we were getting more Jonah, Calla, and Trapper's Crossing, I was thrilled. I love this couple and I love this world. The continuation of their story didn't disappoint. It made me so happy and gave me so many feels.

This story takes place after 'Wild Heart' takes off. Calla and Jonah are engaged and it's December. They're expecting both of their mothers and stepfathers for the holiday, so that's fun. Or stressful. Or maybe a little bit of both.

I love books that take place during the holiday season, and I especially love it when they're about characters I already know and love. This series always makes me feel like I want to go to Alaska. The scenery is so beautiful and feels real.

I absolutey adored getting more from Calla and Jonah. This is the ending I wanted for them. And I loved seeing all the favorites from this group. I especially loved Roy's story in this one. I'm so glad KA Tucker is contuning to write more in this world.

Re-reading this novella because Marie’s book is coming out soon. I’m not even excited about Marie’s book, because I didn’t like her much as a side character, but doing it for the ✨ jonahcalla crumbs ✨

“I know I’m not your cool and wild, bush plane–flying dad, but if you don’t mind”—he clears his throat, and when he speaks again, that British lilt is gruff—“I’d like to take you down there to get married now.”
“You’re right. You’re not my cool, plane-flying dad.” I reach up to adjust his tie, an exact match to the cranberry of my mother’s dress. “You’re my wise and patient and dependable dad who will never play second fiddle to anyone. Not even Wren Fletcher.” He swallows, his own eyes misting. “I suppose that’s pretty cool, too.”

No one talk to me right now. That Calla & Simon scene before jonahcalla’s weeding always manage to make me tear up. 😭 I love Simon as a side character so much and Calla telling him that he is not second best is everything my heart needed to hear, cause that poor man was always a shadow to Wren when he is nothing short of amazing and kind. Not me getting more attached to a side character with a handful of scenes than to the main characters who had 3 books. Bye. 😭

Now, it’s Jonah’s fearless confidence that makes my blood race. His unwavering loyalty that makes me search for him in every room. His untamed passion that makes me weak at the knees. It’s everything—inside and out, good and bad—that makes up this wild man’s heart.

This novella had a good balance between domestic bliss between the MCs, family reunion with a bit of drama here and there, and redeemed my faith in jonahcallie after how Wild at Heart destroyed it.

#1 The Simple Wild — 4 Stars
#2 Wild at Heart — 2.5 Stars
#2.5 Forever Wild — 3 Stars

This was a heartwarming, nostalgic, and EVENTFUL Christmasy ending. I forgot how dramatic Calla can be (though not as much as her mom was). She made me antsy. I was wrapped in a sense of foreboding, and this was a (supposedly HEA) novella/epilogue. I SHOULD feel all kinds of warm and fuzzy.

Don’t take it the wrong way! Calla is just not my kind of person. She made me uneasy, and in her presence I constantly felt like she was one step from doing something that would tick me off. I loved her kind, compassionate, and neighborly side. My favorite thing about her is probably her relationship with the cranky neighbor Roy.

Aside from that, I was glad to be catching up with everyone. Jonah amused me! Everything he said in this book made me smile and laughed. Seeing him with his mom was adorable and a little heartbreaking. I wish they had some heart to heart moment. Loved Simon and the serenity he brought into the group.

The author informed that there would be a third (Dr. Marie’s) book. Honestly, I lowkey wish it was Roy’s estranged daughter’s book instead. Only because she has two kids, and I’d love me some single mom romance set in Alaska. Though I guess, that’d be redundant considering her relationship with Roy is similar to Calla and her dad’s.

Not a day goes by that I don’t hope the author will write another book about these two and the entire cast. This series brings me SO MUCH JOY and always leaves me wanting more. Honestly, there will never be enough Calla and Jonah for me!

What can I say? I devoured this novella and stayed up until midnight to finish it!

Written for die-hard fans of Jonah, Calla, and the whole supporting cast, this story had me hooked from start to finish. Even so, I still feel like I’ll never get enough of them. The silver lining? It sounds like we’ll be getting more Alaska-set romances in the future, and I couldn’t be more excited!

This novella is brimming with Christmas cheer. Both Jonah and Calla’s families finally come together in Alaska, bringing all the warmth, chaos, and family dynamics you’d expect.

Jonah’s grumpy nature? Still absolute catnip for me. And Calla is the perfect match for him! The way they push each other’s buttons is pure perfection—it’s everything I love about their dynamic.

That said, I wish there had been more quality couple time for Calla and Jonah. As much as I adore the entire cast, I can’t help but crave more moments focused solely on my favorite duo.

Still, I know I’ll re-read this novella every time I revisit Wild at Heart. For me, Forever Wild feels like a wonderfully long epilogue, a heartfelt wrap-up, and a bittersweet conclusion to one of my favorite series and all-time favorite romance couples.

It’s hard to accept that there won’t be more stories about my beloved Alaskan couple, but this one earns an easy 5 stars. 🖤

A heartwarming conclusion to Calla and Jonah's story, filled with a loveable motley crew of family, found family and friends😍

I loved being back in this world, in the beautiful setting of Alaska! I have a friend who lives in Alaska, so I know how gorgeous it is from her photos, but I'm dying to go there! I have a picture in my head of the house, the lake, the cabin etc, and love that K. A. Tucker wrote us an epilogue for these characters! Family bustling around at Christmas time, feuding, bonding, making memories.. I loved it! I wish we got a bit more of Jonah with his mum, but we can't have it all in a novella! To be honest I could read full length books on all of these characters!

I am excited to read Marie's story. As much as I love Calla, it must've been hell for Marie, watching her best friend, and unrequited love make a life with someone else, and I can't wait to read about her finding her own journey!

This was such a comforting read, so I'm happy, and smiling through the tears, as I complete my 2020 reading challenge! 😭😍✈️

The perfect holiday read, the perfect conclusion to a much loved couple, god these two hit me in the feels, this was inhaled/devoured in a matter of moments. Here's hoping I get those same feelings with the next book.

A series I never want to end, and I hope down the track she does a spin off centering on Alaska still because I seriously can't get enough.

It was a great ending for Calla and Jonah. And while I'd really like to know more about them, there's no way I'm reading Marie's book. I have to admit that I read some reviews and the fact that she is still obsessed with Jonah makes me way too irritated.

This was a short, sweet, Christmas novella about our favourite couple in Alaska! We get treated to spending a little more time with Jonah and Calla as they get ready for family to join them for the holidays!

As with all short stories I read, I always want more if I am loving it! In this case, I certainly don’t like leaving this world and characters that I have grown to love in this series.
I highly recommend this series, it is one of my all time favourites!!

Thank you Steph, for Buddy reading this story with me! It truly was a heartwarming experience!❤️

This honestly felt like the long epilogue we all needed. I couldn’t be happier with how Jonah and Calla’s story ended. I’m gonna miss them so much.
I’m predicting many re-reads in the future. I wouldn’t be surprised if this becomes my comfort read.

I also LOVED how Roy’s story ended. He was still the grumpy and block headed person we all knew and loved before but his edges started softening. And he started opening up more which was everything.

In Spite of all the chaos around them, I’m happy Jonah and Calla had some romantic moments between them that made me fall in love with them more.

The novella was all things Christmas and Alaska. Add in all the side characters and this became the perfect read. I’m in love with each and every one of them.

This feels like a bittersweet kind of ending. While I’m sad their story ended I’m also happy about how it ended.
Also, I CAN’T BELIEVE WE’RE GETTING MARIE’S BOOK. I hope K.A. Tucker never leaves Alaska. I’m positive we’ll get to see all of them again and this isn’t a goodbye.

Did I love The Forever Wild as much as I hoped I would? Yes, yes, a million times, yes!

Calla and Jonah return in this novella, the third installment following The Simple Wild and Wild at Heart . Not that I needed reminding, but I love this series and these characters so much!!

Christmas is almost here in Trapper's Crossing, Alaska, and Calla and Jonah are getting ready for a full house of guests. Jonah’s mother and stepfather are coming from Norway, Calla’s mother and stepfather are coming from Canada, and Agnes and Mabel are coming, too. Calla can't believe it's been a year since her family dropped her off at the airport so she could begin her new life.

Of course, there’s family tension to be had (Jonah is not a fan of his stepfather), but the biggest topic of conversation is when—and where—Calla and Jonah will get married. Throw in some meddling from Muriel and some typical curmudgeon-like behavior from Roy, as well as a massive snowstorm, and it’s going to be quite a holiday!

The Forever Wild was just so good. Everything was familiar, sure, but K.A. Tucker hooked me from start to finish. If I had any criticism it was that the book was too short, but luckily she has a fourth book featuring Marie, a recurring character and former almost-flame of Jonah's, coming in 2021.

If you like romances with sexy pilots and stories that take place in Alaska, pick this series up. I wouldn’t mind a movie version to see what Jonah would look like in the flesh!

This series…this series is special.
Spoiler Alert!
The Simple Wild series will definitely be on my list of Best Books of 2020. The Simple Wild World is special. This series will no doubt hold a special place in my heart forever because the characters in this series are sublime. So it’s really no surprise that I was really excited to read this novella.

Forever Wild (The Simple Wild #2.5) brought back a rush of emotions. Set in the middle of the Christmas festivity in Alaska, Forever Wild is beautifully written.
The characters and I (Yes, I’ve joined this fictional family) have come a long way since the first time we met.
I feel so close to these characters .. It brings a smile to my face when I think back to the time when Jonah picked Calla from the airport…we’ve come a long way since then, haven’t we?
Who would have thought we’d get get to ‘witness’ all this, right?

When I heard that K.A Tucker was writing a novel, I legit squealed. The anticipation of their wedding, reading about how they’ve been.. I’m clearly a little too invested but come on! These characters are GEMS. From Calla to Jonah, Roy to Muriel, Simon..they have become living, breathing beings in my mind.

The Simple Wild world definitely goes beyond these two dynamics characters and I honestly get butterflies when I think about this world. My heart is full and I cannot wait for you guys to read it too.

In this cute novella that concluded Jonah and Calla’s portion of the Alaska Wild story, they’re having quite a few relatives over to stay with them for Christmas, and negotiating wedding plans. As in, imagine two meddling mothers trapped in a small cabin with you while both want you to have your wedding in their hometown instead of where you currently live. Awkward! This had all the makings of a great Alaskan romance. Quirky Alaskan men. And women. Moose roadkill! (loved it!) And Jonah and Calla got their happy ending. And I am sooo happy to see another favorite side character will be continuing this series. This is one of my favorite KA Tucker series and I love Alaskan romances!

I hope you've all read the first two books in this amazing series! This is 'just' a holiday novella about our darlings Calla and Jonah - but I would hate for you to miss out on those first two adventures! READ THEM FIRST PLEASE. ASAP!

OK. FOREVER WiLD.
We're back with our two darlings. It's been a year since they've moved into their adorable cabin outside the little town of Trapper's Crossing in Alaska.
Jonah is still flying and Calla is still doing her things. But she's also busy with the town's holiday events and with her cranky neighbor and his family problems.
But the best and worst is that both their parents are coming for Christmas. Jonah hates his step father and Calla doesn't want to hear another word from her mom about finally setting a wedding date.

LET THE FUN TIMES BEGIN ...

Will we get a merry Christmas or will it be pure chaos?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT ☺

Ugh! My heart.

I was sooo looking forward to reading this novella. Even though I didn't really need it. I was pretty happy with the first books. I could've lived with that ending. But of course we always want more - I always want endless epilogues. And that's what we get here. The MORE after THE END. We almost never get that in books! I just love that Kathleen wrote this!

I just adored this book! Like with the first books, I felt like being right there with Calla and Jonah. I could smell the fireplace and all the decorations and the snow and the goats and the food and cookies. Ugh. I just love this time of year - in books and in real life!

This was the perfect final epilogue for our two darlings. I adored every single word.
I just said the word final. I wouldn't mind coming back to them every once in a while with little new adventure. ☺ And we will come back ... but not for our two darlings - but I'm sure we'll see them again in Marie's book! EEEP! Remember Marie? The vet who was/is/has been in love with Jonah? Yes! She's getting her own book and we'll see all our favorite Alaskans again!

OK - that's it - what more should I say?! If you read and loved the first books - you will definitely read and love this one and if you haven't read the other two ...what are you doing here reading this review anyway?! ☺

FOREVER WiLD was the most adoarable Christmas-happily-ever-after-Alaska-Epilogue Love Story Novella! I inhaled and worshipped every single word!
Run to your nearest amazon for your own Jonah - this one is mine!

Two more things. The cover! I mean. Hello?! So effing beautiful! I want to live in those colors!
And then ... please Netflix. Come and make a show out of Calla and Jonah. PLEASE!

Are there any series that you wish you had so many books in their world?? For me this is where I stay forever, love this romance so much and all the set up.

Forever Wild is heartwarming, sexy and sweet. It was so much fun spending time with these two Jonah and Calla plus all the other loveable characters.

There isn’t much drama in this book. It’s really a sweet novella about love and friends and family .Perfect for this period.

" Quiero casarme aqui mismo, ahora mismo.

JONAHCALLA FOREVER!!! ahhhh I love everyone so much (except you Marie fuck you)

I can't believe this is over 😭

man when I started reading The Simple Wild I didn't expect it to have so many layers. 2 books and a novella later now I'm heartbroken to be parting ways with my favorite characters 😭😩 I thought the best era ended in book 1 but in my opinion this novella is the PEAAAAK. all of jonahcalla's worlds colliding. I was in tears. what a beautiful story. I recommend it to everyone who loves found family, this series will treat you RIGHT.

5 stars for this book, I can't rate it any lower this story is too important for me BUT -100 points for inviting Marie to the wedding. fuck you Marie you pathetic wench

So somehow this novella did what the previous full length installment didn’t do for me. It made me happy, it made me sad, it made me cry, and it also made me excited about a companion book featuring the same cast and crew but with a different protagonist. It was also all that and very festive and lovely for the holiday season, too.

My one gripe would be that there was a dynamic introduced between Jonah and another character that definitely worked as a way to give this short read some angst and tension.. but I’m not entirely sure it wrapped in a satisfying way. Or, like, at all? It also had another suspense/tension element that ties into this and also maybe wasn’t necessary, particularly as the thing that ties it all together was.. again, not quite a resolution. So if I think too hard on that I might be tempted to round down but.. honestly, carrying over from the major positive in book two? Roy. Roy broke me in this one. I had so many feels. I enjoyed the Calla and Jonah romance dynamic too, don’t get me wrong, but was more periphery for me. I was more invested in the whole town/group dynamic. And yeah mostly Roy. My heart..

So if you want something sweet and cozy and maybe also a little sad but still lovely, and you’re already a fan of this series, you absolutely need to fit this in before the end of the year; or at least while still in the throes of winter.

*Reread* This book, this series, is everything!

Perfection. This novella was the perfect ending to Calla + Jonah’s story. I am new to K.A. Tucker’s writing and just so happened to stumble upon it on Libby, shoutout public libraries! This series and its characters stole my heart. So pleasantly surprised and cannot wait to check more of her writing out!
Of the entire series, this was the best book in my opinion. Short, sweet, and tied up all the loose ends. Wishing and hoping for a book four. & If we can’t get a book four is a television series too much to ask for?!

This is my absolute favourite book in the series!
And it's settled, K.A. Tucker weddings make me cry, every time, every series.

I love all the vibes and emotions this book brought. I love how we were able to see so much of everyone without losing sight of what is important.

While K.A. Tucker excelled in making Alaska as much a character of this series as Calla and Jonah, this book shows how the relationship between Calla and Alaska became seamless, and how the setting was a character but stepped down enough for the romance to take front.

Loved this. Loved the truth of it all, and loved how real and raw Calla, Alaska, and Jonah are.

This was everything my heart wanted and more. It's bittersweet to say good bye to Calla and Jonah (though we will see snippets of them in other Simple Wild world novels), but KA Tucker really knows how to make her fans happy. I had a huge smile on my face the entire time I was reading this and though I wish it was longer, it wrapped things up very well. It was wonderful to see all my old favorite characters again (when will Aggie get her own book!?) and I'm excited that there will be more novels in the future. I'm not 100% sure how to feel about the main character in the next book (considering what happened in Wild at Heart), but I do suppose that everyone needs a happily ever after. ;) Sigh. My heart is full <3
