Frankly, the totality of this book is overwhelming. I don't see how anyone can read the book and incorporate all of the ideas and suggestion into one's life. It doesn't mean that any idea is bad, just that their are too many them. So I decided to summarize my takeaway into three topics:
1. I should take every chance I get in an instance in which a simple thank you is appropriate to say thank you.
2. The subject matter of "Shawn Anchor TedX Talk (available on YouTube or the TED app) is very substantial in its content. The "talk" basically emphasizes a major choice we have in our lives to be focus on our perspective of happiness. 90% of our happiness is based on how one interprets the events of your life. Only 10% is linked to your external circumstances. It goes to the common viewpoint as to whether one views everything as a glass half full or a glass half empty. I was try to view life as half full and never half empty.
3. Whenever I encounter undesirable tension and stress in my life, I just refuse to let it bind me in any way.
I was not able to complete every challenge but I did read it and fill it out daily. Some challenges were skipped or modified due to monetary reasons, or time, but I can say that in the time I used this, I look for things to be grateful for and try harder to shift my perspective when I see myself taking a turn to the negative side of things.
A really great gratitude journal with mindfulness resources, practices, and scientific evidence made simple. Even as someone who has studied mindfulness and gratitude in-depth, this journal was a useful tool for self-reflection and an enjoyable read.
I LOVE anything made by Habit Nest. This is the 7th journal I have bought from them and I love them all. It's like having a personal trainer, life coach and journal all wrapped up in one.
