As a Doctor in the Terran space program, I never expected to wake up in a cage. When I’m rescued by a handsome Aerilon Fae warrior, I am both grateful and wary. Al’aneo is a Prince of his people and claims that I am his fated one.
He wants forever with me, but I've been through so much. I know I can trust him with my life, but can I trust him with my heart?

1.5 stars DV? I am not sure, he was betrothed to another and she died, I don't know how far they went. safeish (H is emotionally attached to his first love and I think he feels 'love' for the h because they are fated mates) It makes it worse because he chose his first love, without the bond, and the heroine is fate choosing for them, and even though he says he never knew his love for her was stronger than he has ever felt,it could be the bond. I hated that so much. If his first love never died he would not even look at the h, and what would have happened if the OW was alive, would he abandon the one he chose for the h, the one he is fated to? This is why I hate, when the H loved another before the h, it is always a disappointment. no cheating OW (dead but his first love whom he still grieves) NO OM HEA (I don't feel it though) I normally enjoy Jessica Grayson (I don't write reviews on her stories as they are all samey, repetitive but comforting and I think all dual virgins without an OW, and neither fell in love before in most of her books, except this one, which is why I wrote a review on this one.) I hated this one because the H was mourning his betrothed whom he loved. She wasn't his fated one and he holds onto her memory, which makes the h second best. Plus to "protect her" he lied to her and hurt her by saying that he didn't love her and it was just the fated bond he felt, which broker her heart badly. Adding to the fact that he was in love before made her heartbreak even worse. This was NOT a one true love story. This is the worse one aside from another one I read, "The Memory of Forever" which I also hated. Will not reread this one.
The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was clean, with no typos that I found and well constructed sentences. The world building was okay, though I wish we had gotten a better immersion in the landscape and culture of the hero’s home world. The characterization was good, with both hero and heroine being sympathetic individuals. The development of the romantic relationship was sweet and romantic. This novel had a heat level of two chili peppers, since it was such a slow burn. The plot had exciting elements, but the stakes felt pretty low throughout most of this novel, which made the pacing drag a bit. The angst of the hero lying to and making decisions that affected the heroine without consulting her wishes was excruciating to read, but thankfully did not last long. I personally felt it would have been a better novel without the poorly executed angst. This novel had the Fated Mates trope and the Stranger in a Strange Land trope. The world building, plot, and pacing were three and a half stars. The characterization was four stars and the development of the romantic relationship was three stars, due to the poorly executed relationship angst. I therefore rounded up and gave this novel a combined rating of four stars, since I did enjoy it despite the problems. This novel had a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger ending, so that was a big plus. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy sweet, romantic slow burn romances. I look forward to reading the next book in this series when it releases. I will probably not buy myself a keeper copy of this novel.

The human, Holly, has been a slave of the A'kai for about a year (think space vampires). She passes out and when she opens her eyes again, an Anguis jerks on the chain attached to the collar she wears. He looks like a cobra with scales and fangs, and a long tail. He drags her to a dark room and poisons her with a paralyzing bite. He was preparing her for his mating rut when Captain Al'aneo rescues her and the others.
Al'aneo is a Fae-like winged Aerilon Prince. When the mercenaries appeared in their territory, Al’aneo’s crew boarded their vessel, and finding they are slavers, executed them as their law demanded and rescued the slaves. Holly is among those rescued and Al’aneo immediately knows she is his Fated One. Holly had been having recurring dreams of Al'aneo and she recognized him before she passed out. No one has ever survived the Anguis venom, but in the morning, she opens her eyes and sees the man she has dreamed about looking down at her. The Healer verified that, as far as they knew about Terrans, all of her readings were good. She had survived! Despite her panics when something reminds her of the A’kai or the Anguis experiences, she begins to heal, and she and Al'aneo bond. Will she join the crew as a Healer since she is a medical doctor from Earth? Will she trust the bond to mean he loves her or is it simply a matter of a chemical reaction that causes his wings to glow? And will that insecurity she feels cause her to reject him?
These are just magical to me. Maybe it is the writing, I don't know I just really enjoy the works of this author. Holly has been a slave with the truly hideous A'kai for about a year. They are the equivalent of space vampires and brutal, ruthless and cold. She is saved by a very varid crew lead by Al'aneo. He is an Aerilon and a prince no less but this is not something that he tells anyone. Strangely Holly has been dreaming of him for years, he was her light in the darkness when the A'kai brought her to the brink of being broken and she has a long way to go before she is healed. As soon as he sees Holly, his wings start to glow signaling that she is is Al'essa, his soulmate. Given all she has been through and the fact she is a doctor can Holly trust that he is genuinely in love with her or is the bond just a chemical reaction which overuns his own senses and makes him want her rather than it be his own choice. After being a slave choice is very important to her. Al'aneo is terrified he will lose her so he also starts to push her away. Can a bond be broken?
I loved this book. I'm reading the Ice World Warriors series, and I love that I can read about other members of the alien species found in that series. This book's alien hero is a fae-like species called Aerilon. Al'aneo is a prince and the captain of a ship who boards a vessel of slavers, executing them and rescuing their slaves- including the human female Holly, whom he immediately recognizes as his fated mate. Holly has dreamt of Al'aneo and recognizes him when he rescues her. As she heals and deals with the trauma of her enslavement, she an Al'aneo grow closer and bond.
While this was not a book with a lot of action and adrenaline, it was one of healing and dealing with one's fears and pasts. There were a lot of supporting characters- all of whom I love and am happily surprised to find most have their own stories already (all of which I plan to read!). A few grammatical errors here and there, but nothing major or distracting. An enjoyable read. I recommend it. 5 stars.
I’ve read the Ice World Warrior series by this author so I knew it would be good. It was everything I expected and more. The main female character Holly was abducted by slavers and was at the mercy of them and the A’kai who are trying to find Terra so they can enslave the humans. She’s rescued by an Aerilon warship. When alien who finds her is a male she dreamt of every night since she woke up in a cage. Al’aneo is horrified when he rescues a human female who has been fatally bitten by an Anguis. When he gets her to his ship and the medbay the healers discover that her body is processing the poison and isn’t dying. When she wakes he tells her she is his fated mate and she tells him that she dreamt of him and it was those dreams that kept her alive. They go through many situations but they fight through each one to stay together and they the happy ever after ending they’ve always wanted.

Is it me or… the books keep getting shorter, are incredibly fast-paced and have insta-love in the very first pages? What the f*? I was so excited about this book. I had such high expectations after reading the Mosauran duology. (I loved everything about it: the slow burn romance, the angst, and specially the healing process of the protagonists). Sadly this book didn’t delivered. I hate that. I hate when I have such great expectations and I’m so excited, and then the books are just… meh. I really hope the next books get better (cough cough, better meaning V’loryn/Mosauran stories style). Please, please 🙏🏻
This was just okay, good but not great. I’ve enjoyed previous books in this world more than this one. I can usually overlook most grammar errors, and I am in no way perfect with my writing, however, this had my biggest pet peeves. For some reason switching between genders (his and her) for the same person and screwing up the name of the person you are actually speaking of (using sisters name but meaning your mate) just bugs me more than using words like your/you’re incorrectly. This book just did not seem to be edited as well as the 4-5 others I’ve read.
Great characters. Loved him from his sisters book. Do wish the author spaced out the timing and did not overlap so much and repeated same scenarios with different views. As well the repeating theme of traumas of the human women thinking they are weak and the males needing to tell them they are strong, etc. did like the counseling group, should have it for males and others as well. Grief counseling, and lose of family to raids, etc. Would be great if one of the humans introduced action groups idea. Where they petition other worlds to end slavery, and other societal ills.
Holly was captured by the A’kai they are a vampire race and touch telepaths one has been trying to find out from Holly’s mind where earth is so they can conquer earth and drink everyone’s blood. Holly is so exhausted after the monster scans her mind she passes out and dreams of a gorgeous Aerilon she dreams of him every night but Holly knows that it’s just a dream until she is saved by the alien of her dreams but I will let you find the rest out for yourself. I loved this story and the characters and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
A'leano and Holly couldn't be more different one a Fae on a mission to save and rescue those on a slaver ship Holly a doctor who has suffered at the hands of her captors is slow to trust even if the man who rescues her is the same one she has had dreams of. A'leano knows Holly is his fated mate but one little lie could keep them apart. This was well written a little slow in the beginning has some angst and a slow romance with a HEA ending.
I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.
This was a quick fun read which is was a joy to read. The two characters - Holly and Al'aneo, are great. I was glad she was rescued, along with others. Her captive life would not have been pleasant, to say the least! Holly does overcome her insecurities about letting go her emotions and allows the bond to grow between them. I liked that she was a Doctor and would have a purpose with Al'aneo and his people. I look forward to more in this new series.

It was nice to return to this world after taking a short break to switch it up with some human stories, and to finally read Holly and Al’aneo's story.
– Dual pov – Dual virgin (I'm assuming H is because his people mate for life) – Alien-fae H/human h – No cheating or OM/slight OW () – HEA ending + epilogue not too far out
This book was well done. Good plot, good pacing. The sex scenes were tasteful and didn’t overshadow the story itself. The characters were likeable and the dialogue between them flowed smoothly. There wasn’t a ton of fight scenes which personally I like. This is the first time I’ve read anything by this author alone and I would recommend it. I went onto my 2nd book. As long as she continues in the fated mates world I will definitely be reading more by Ms Grayson
I really enjoyed reading this book. I especially liked the part where Holly was in the med bay and surprised everyone. This book was quite well written and led me through quite a few emotions, sadness, to anger (stupid male), worry and happiness. I hope that there will be more books in this series.

The first book in the Aerilon Fae series a well written story that held my interest throughout. Holly a Doctor in the Terran space program is kidnapped and then rescued by Prince Al’aneo a Aerilon Fae warrior who she has dreamed about. I enjoyed seeing this story come together. Yep. Hero is packing some extremely unique equipment. It is what stuck with me the most from the book. Hero was a super awesome guy. A little misguided in his attempt to protect his mate, but his heart was always in the best place.

I enjoyed reading this story. It was full of deep thoughts and wonder. Each of the couple overcome pasts that have pain and loss. My favorite line in the book, "Life is so short. I understand now that only after experiencing sadness can we truly know what joy means."
This is an awesome sci-fi romance! I am so in love with the world and characters that this author has created. Romantic, sweet, and a wonderful adventure! Truly stunning!

I think this book out if this series is my favorite. I’m so glad Jessica gave Al’aneo his own story. I really liked his character. Jessica your books just keep getting better and better. I highly recommend this book and others in this series.
I really love this series. Hopefully there will be more in the near future. Enjoy the grandmother. He presence in the story made this such a joyful experience of wisdom being shared and learned from. She was fierce and also loving.
Sci-fi romance meets fantasy in this engaging with just enough world building and great characters. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Loving this series by Jessica Grayson! This is the third book and it feels like there is a lot more story to tell, I hope she will add more to the series!!
