A mysterious death. A vicious gang. And a spectre whose presence foreshadows a horrific fate.
When the Wynne family inherits a house from a deceased family member, they didn’t expect a ghost to come with it.
The frightening figure of a skeletal, wild wraith with a bloodcurdling scream leads the Wynnes to seek the help of psychic private investigator, Sully Gray. Rarely does Sully land simple cases. Where he expects to find one ghost, he instead discovers two.
With help from his brother and partner, Dez, Sully uncovers evidence of a homicide and an extortion plot ripe for murder. Tensions mount when he learns the truth about the shrieking apparition.
Those who see her are doomed to die.
Sully and Dez not only have a murder to solve, they find themselves facing a looming war with a dangerous gang. Failing won’t just spell death for their clients.
It will mean theirs too.
The Braddock & Gray Case Files are a followup to The Sullivan Gray Series—mystery and suspense with a ghostly twist.
Raised on a farm on the Canadian Prairies, words quickly became my means of exploring the world around me and giving life to the one created in my imagination. Fascinated by ghost stories and crime fiction, I have been writing both for well over two decades, drawing on more than fifteen years in a career in a criminal justice setting. When not putting Scrivener through its paces, I enjoy reading, portrait drawing, travel and spending time with family and friends.
Dez and Sully are at it again in The Wynne Witch. They are called in by a family who is being haunted by a scary spirit…or two. The Wynne family has just inherited a very old manor house from a distant relative. But something isn’t right. The father and daughter keep seeing a massively freaky witch and curtains won’t stay open. After one too many things goes wrong, the family calls for an expert ghost whisperer. Sully can see the problem as soon as he visits with the family. It’s up to him and Dez to help the Wynnes find peace in their new home.
I really enjoy the ghost stories in this series. Bayne’s description is always stellar so a reader can feel the tension. The ghosts are definitely creepy and the mysteries are good. I’ve noticed that this new series has some shorter stories. They aren’t as complex as the earlier series. That’s not bad at all. These are just quicker reads and it’s fun to race through them.
The Wynne Witch By H.P. Bayne This is book #3 in the series and enjoyed this a lot. A murder mystery with a ghost, a banshee, a gang of murderers, and a wild poltergeist! Lots going on in here. Great plot and characters! Enjoying this series.
Another great story! I love this series, and I love the characters, so anytime I got a new book on it I know I am for a treat.
And I wasn't wrong, this was great! It starts slow, with what seems a low-level threat, but soon it gets complicated when Sully discovers that he'll have to deal not only with a ghost but with a Welsh banshee too. And it that wasn't enough, there is also Callum, the older son, who has run off and is dealing with a dangerous gang that is causing a lot of troubles.
And talking about the gang... I loved the fight against them at the Forks, not because the fight itself, but because it showed all of them together: Eva, Forbes, Lachlan, Terrence, and even Noisy Ned *laughs* Friendship shining at the hardest moments,
And we even get to see a bit of Paul, always ready to help and lend a hand when it is necessary.
I found the Wynne family really likeable, good people doing their best to get by, even when the circumstances aren't the best. And I had a lot of fun with how awkward Sully felt with Casey's crush.
The mystery was great, although I must say that I guessed who the culprit was before the unveiling (yay, me!). But it was really well done, and the outcome was scary as hell and full of suspense.
Dez and Sully are back in familiar territory for much of this book - even if they might not want to be. What begins innocently enough quickly turns into a complex paranormal mystery with far more going on than first impressions might indicate. It does get dark and dangerous in parts, but overall it is a story of redemption and justice.
One of the things I really like about this series is that the stories are as much about the characters as the paranormal mystery. This book is no different and Dez and Sully find themselves helping this family with both paranormal and real world issues. I love the way the brothers interact and how their relationship has grown and developed.
There is a a lot that fans of the series will appreciate, but this book can be read as a standalone as well. Bayne does a good job of dropping in necessary background where needed. Suspenseful read you won't want to put down.
This is the third book in : The Braddock & Gray Case Files paranormal series
Another nail biter at the edge of your seat and packed with plenty of ACTION we have the brother's getting a visit from a very concerned and frightened father Neal . He and his family have recently moved to his great Aunt's house in order to start over after his son got into trouble with the police . Neal and his wife Drea had to empty their bank accounts in order to play for his son Callum's court fees which meant that they had to sell their home and move into the house that was left to Neal from a great Aunt that had recently passed away . But as we know Sully gets involved after the family is plagued with seeing the ghost of great Aunt Metilda which means since Sully was asked too look into it that Aug Metilda didn't did from natural causes . So the brother's set out to find out what really happened too Aunt Tilly and put things to right .
Dez and Sully are back at it again. Sully has now gotten enough attention that people are looking for him. This family inherit a home that is haunted. They are being scared by two ghosts. Sully has to make contact and figure who murdered the families relative. Then it is revealed that the other entity is part of the families heritage. Scary and heart stopping action packed mystery. Excellent read that you don't want to put down until you are done. Phenomenal series with likeable and relatable characters. She brings the books to life. You care about the characters. Received ARC copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
This book Keeps things fresh as ghost stories go!! Much grittier. The danger is very real on a multitude of levels. Sully and Dez face the dangers of the Forks with all the intensity of going to WAR.. amazing to see the alliances woven out of necessity!! One thing is for sure, you won't put this book down! I tried at 3am this morning and with my down as if to sleep, my eyes were open thinking about it!! I saw the sunrise as I finished the book! Worth the tired eyes chasing after kids today! Lol.. already have the next book downloaded! Being with Dez and Sully is WAYYYY too much fun to be away too long!! Haha!!!
Sully and Dez help a family who recently moved into a family home. Of course there is a ghost involved. But is the ghost malevolent? The family, Neil and Drea Wynne (pronounced "Win"), are terrified of their haunted house. Every time they open the curtains they are quickly closed again. Since Sully was outed in public court in the last book, someone who can see ghosts, Neil seeks him out. I am loving this series. I love the two brothers, Dez and Sully. I'm looking forward to starting the next book in the series.
An exciting nail-biter! This is the 10th book about Sullivan Gray and his exploits, and I’m glad there’s more to come. All the books have been exciting, but this one seemed like excitement on steroids. If you like reading murder mysteries, and you like reading paranormal/ghost stories, this is the best of both worlds. I think each stand-alone Braddock & Gray Case Files books would be great on their own. But, if you start with the Sullivan Gray series, you’ll get a fuller sense of who Sully is, and why his family and friends are willing to put their lives on the line with him.
This is an amazing book. I’ve loved each and every book that Bayne pens. This one is very imaginative with creepy heart pumping ghosts. An excellent plot and a great cast of characters to love and fear. For me it’s like watching a movie so well is everything described, from people to places, the action, the fear, so good. Read it and you will come to love this heartwarming family in dire trouble as well.
Another awesome book, I love the characters and the story that keeps me intrigued from beginning to end. Sully and Dez work so well together, like typical brothers they have their own personalities but their love and respect for each other is so obvious in everything they say and do. The mysterious witches combined with the drug gang keeps the reader wondering what might happen next. I absolutely loved it , can't wait for the next adventure .
As ever, I really enjoyed this story and latest instalment of the B&G files. I enjoy the banter that Sullivan has with his brother, who hates ghosts and ends up dealing with them anyway, and how they solve cases and manage to get paid for them even when they start of doing it free. This story is about someone inheriting a house but it comes with a ghost or two. It's a great read and as ever very satisfying to read.
Oh my gosh. This was such an awesome book! I really loved it! I loved the inclusion of folklore. I loved the close camaraderie that exists between Sully and his friends. I enjoyed the gunfight and even Ned! Ned is a unusual and interesting character. This is one of my favorite book series and main characters! I just loved this book.
The Wynne Witch was scary in the beginning that I would not read it at night, until I had a better understanding of the story of who this witch was. A real page turner as to what was going to happen next. H.B. Bayne had the ability to draw you into Dez and Sully storyline. I loved it....another awesome book.
This series is as awesome as the first! Sully and Dez are such great characters. I love the way everything just flows. I have found that these series that I have read and keeping track of are among my favorites. That's saying a lot since I know my joy of reading has a count in thousands of books!!!! Love this
Wow, what a good read. I love Sully. This series of books is excellent. Once I start reading one I can't stop until I've finished it. Sully sees ghosts of people that have been murdered and his brother Dez helps keep him safe and grounded. I highly recommend these books and I can't wait to read the next book.
Oh my gosh, this book was amazing. I love the characters & how they interact with each other. Sully & Dez, hit the top 5 of my favorite characters. Along with the spooky twisting tales, these brothers bring laugh out loud interaction throughout the series. Thanks!
I loved this book. Hell, I love this author. Every book so far has been a non-stop action of some sort. The characters keep coming back, which I love, and I can't seem to put it down. I have to force myself to remember to take a break and eat. The Sullivan Gray series would make for awesome movies or TV shows. I'm just saying!
I just loved the original Series and this Spin off Series is just Wounderful too!! I got and listened to this book on Audible books and it was well done!! Narrator does a Excellent job on the characters Voices and the storyline. Highly recommend all H.P. Payne's books.
Sully and Dez are back with a new adventure. I loved this fast paced, non-stop action thriller. I hated to put it down. This story will keep you engaged until the final page. If you enjoy paranormal stories, you will love The Wynne Witch. I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest review.
Welsh banshee, drug gangs - Sully and Des ride again
Brilliant as usual. Sully and Des encounter more ghosts and a harbinger of doom from Wales. Sully figures it out, with supporting cast taking the flak.
Very enjoyable read I am just about to start the next book in the series and hopefully book 5 will be coming along soon. Very easy to read definitely out there but thoroughly enjoyable keep up the good work
It’s amazing how an author can scare you one minute then make you smile the next but Ms Bayne has this ability. She’ll have you not only believing in ghosts, but feeling like her characters are part of your family.
The brothers must deal with witches, gangs, an unseen threat and more time in the Forks. Lots of danger, while Sully deals with goes both seen and unseen. As usual Des is there to guard his back.
From the beginning the story pulls you in. It was hard to put this one down. Love how the characters were intertwined from the estranged son to the gang members and the shady lawyer. Enjoyed the whole story.
I love these books. The Wynne Witch pulled in quite a few spirits to add to Sully's experience with this new family. Very interesting and totally engrossing read. Please 🙏 keep writing more.
♾️/⭐️ Another amazingly well paced book, they’re always so hard to put down! As always engaging characters, interesting (and spooky!) storyline and nice to see some of the characters we haven’t seen in a while! Another amazing read, highly recommend!
I hope the author writes quickly, because I am looking forward to the next book in this series. This book was full of mystery and paranormal. It was very enjoyable reading!
