The Afib Cure: Get Off Your Medications, Take Control of Your Health, and Add Years to Your Life

Rate this book
Most doctors will tell you that there isn't much you can do to treat atrial fibrillation, aside from taking medications for the rest of your life.

Cardiologists and a-fib specialists John D. Day and T. Jared Bunch disagree.

Atrial fibrillation strikes one in four American adults. Not only do people suffering from this condition suffer from shortness of breath, fatigue, chest discomfort, decreased ability to exercise and do activities of daily living, arrhythmia, and palpitations, but their risk of a stroke, cognitive decline and dementia, heart failure, or premature death also shoots way up.

Today, a whole new body of research—one most physicians are unaware of—shows that biomarker and lifestyle optimization may put half the cases of atrial fibrillation into remission without drugs or procedures. And for those in whom these remedies are insufficient or not tolerated, new procedures, in combination with biomarker and lifestyle optimization, may offer lifetime remission from atrial fibrillation and its devastating consequences.

In clear, accessible, patient-centric language, Drs. Day and Bunch share their revolutionary approach to treating atrial fibrillation, developed through a combined 53 years working with a-fib patients. The effectiveness of their plan has been proven through countless medical studies. And now, in The AFib Cure: Get Off Your Medications, Take Control of Your Health, and Add Years to Your Life, they share that plan with you.

If you're looking for a drug-free solution to your atrial fibrillation, or have a family history of atrial fibrillation and don't want to suffer the same fate, The AFib Cure is for you. Let The AFib Cure show you how to live longer, healthier, free from medications, and free from the fear of atrial fibrillation overshadowing your life.

Wow, it was a dry read, long and at times repetitive but it had a lot of information in its pages, a lot of it new to me, in spite of my long nursing career and a 16 yr personal history with Paroxysmal AFib. It’s a newly published book, 2021, written by 2 well versed electrophysiologists, so is entirely credible. I did think it got a bit detailed in parts and maybe a bit too much information for the average lay person to take in. As for the “cure”: ablation, and lose weight, eat lots of vegetables, no flour or sugar, minimal meat. Sounds like a plan. I did appreciate the chapter about ablation, pros and cons and it convinced me to work on making that happen, having resisted for so long. Here’s hoping!

Absolutely amazing book. Considering how many patients are unnecessarily treated for Afib while so many are forgoing potentially life changing ablation, this is a book that will elevate your health literacy. It changes the way I view and manage Afib though it goes beyond the standards of care, so physicians have to treat carefully. The explanation of muscle fibrosis and its underlying cause is important for anyone at risk of this disease to review.

I was recently diagnosed with aFib. I still have to have more testing done. I thought I had a healthy lifestyle. I learned that there are more things for me to do to. I think it will be difficult to be 100%. I would like to come off the medications. So I will need to reread some of it, to see what changes I can make. It also gave me alot of information so that I can ask my doctor. There is alot of valuable information in this book.

It is written so you don't need a medical degree to understand concepts or treatments.

Provided detailed information on overall health, why some people get A-Fib, what the triggers are and how to control it. Also gave information on remedies for the diagnosis and treatment.

Explained why many athletes have had this condition. Why you want to keep it under control - so it doesn't over stress your heart.

Of course, it's always up to the individual, if you heed the advice, but if you set your goals accordingly, it will help in the long term.

Know Doctors and clients that have used the book as a guideline for their own treatments. Sensible solutions to a chronic condition that is occurring more often since Covid mandates.
