God's Government or Chaos The main reason anti-Christian civilizationists survive and seem to thrive is that Christians have not engaged with, answered, and built a competing alternative culture—THE ORIGINAL CIVILIZATION—founded on the principles found in God’s Word and observable in creation. Moreover, many Christians don’t believe there can be or should be a Christian civilization, so they send their children off to the local government school that is anti-Christian believing that facts are neutral and public education is free. Such thinking comes at a terrible cost. Action by Christians can fix this problem by simple obedience to God’s law. If wolves in sheep clothing are a problem for the people of God, then what should we think of wolves who identify as wolves and want to supplant Christian civilization founded on materialist operating assumptions? There are many Christians who will not participate in civilization-building efforts that include economics, journalism, politics, education, and science because they believe (or have been taught to believe) these areas of thought are outside the realm of what constitutes a Christian worldview. Nothing could be further from the truth.

A good introduction to the theme of Demos vs Theos. If God has given us guidance and commands on how our governments ought to run, and he has, then we have a responsibility to see that those commands are followed both from the government of the state and the family.
One of the reviews of this book described it had a first primer in understanding a Christian perspective on government. A simple explanation that sums up this book perfectly. Fully enjoyed it. The first half describing the Christian ethic in regards to government, I found particularly insightful.
Sooooooooooooo important!!! The content in the government chapters (self-, family, church, civil) alone is worth the price of this book and is supremely important for people to know, study, and implement into our lives and affairs. The whole book is excellent. Only small percentage points off: some of the chapters and topics could and should be expounded on; and it had some minor grammar/spelling errors, I'm assuming from a rushed publication to release it before the election. DeMar is absolutely on point with this one. Highly highly recommend!!
Great read taking a biblical look at God and government, what is the relationship between church and state, what are the different types of God ordained government and a Christian view of politics. DeMar's writing is thought provoking and insightful. He challenges many of today's popular misconceptions and argues compellingly for a biblical alternative. Definitely a worthwhile read and very appropriate book for our present time.
This was a good read regarding our responsibility as Christians in government. It gave me a new perspective. He made a good point regarding how government was through out the Bible. The only thing I would say is some if his political views seem to be a stretch to make it seem like a Christian view. Some things are simply gray areas and I don’t think it is wise to judge other’s convictions regarding it. And one main concern i noticed that was not brought up was how to fix the poverty stricken areas. This is concerning especially since many blacks are in poverty due to slavery. Not all can come out as easy as they make it sound. Believe me, i have family that were successful and some that were not. Not everyone had the opportunity, resources to how to do it, or the funds.
Good book with helpful information. I don't come to all the same conclusions are Gary does, but in general a good Primer on Western civilization and America's Christian foundations, and how to restore it.
