Roll around in the rhymes and enjoy Rob Biddulph’s trademark warm-hearted humour.
Cute story about a dog taking his person for a walk in the park, then, on no, loses the boy! The story is told in rhyme from the dog’s PoV. The illustrations are actually better than the story, and are charming.
Excellent! Wonderful rhyming story with a spooky twist told from the dogs point of view. One to read aloud again and again again. So much to explore and chat about in the illustrations. Especially love the last double page spread.
Rob Biddulph took the book world by storm over lockdown, becoming popular among children and parents for his fantastically fun Draw with Rob draw along videos. So you can imagine my own kids delight when Dog Gone, the new children’s picture book written and illustrated by Rob, arrived with us to read.
Teddy is a dog who has a pet human called Dave. If your children have read any other Rob Biddulph books before they will love spotting the Draw with Rob, Odd Dog Out and Blown Away books in Dave’s room. Teddy and Dave head to the park for a walk, but the pair are spooked when they see what everyone says is a terrible troll.
Children love it when books have a slightly spooky surprise, and I so enjoyed reading this to them and being able to give them a bit of a fright (but one that all turns out to be a misunderstanding in the end). After escaping, but then trying to reunite two squirrels with their lost nuts, Teddy loses Dave. The dog sets out to try and find his human, ultimately choosing to face his fears of the scary troll shed, where he meets an unexpected new friend.
This wonderful rhyming story will be a new favourite at story time, expect the little ones to lean in closer to pour over the beautifully bright illustrations and to fall in love with this new waggy tale that teaches the importance of kindness and friendship.
Teddy, aka Edward Pugglesworth, has a comfy life in a lovely house with his pet human. One day while out for their walk, Teddy loses Dave. He stops at all their usual spots but can’t find him, until help comes from the most unexpected place.
I absolutely love this bright and colourful book by Rob Biddulph about kindness that can be found in any form.
Larkin loves to pore over this book’s beautiful illustrations and point out all of his most loved parts. It is already a firm bedtime favourite.
Highly recommend if you and your kids are fans of rhyming stories, animal friends and gorgeously bright illustrations.
From award-winning author and illustrator Rob Biddulph comes another adorable picture book featuring dogs - this time starring Teddy the pug and his human, Dave. What's most fun about the book is the rhymes that fit the illustrations like a glove. It is a pleasure reading this book aloud and becoming part of the story. I will definitely keep this one for my future kids! Another gem is the double page at the end of the book showing the diversity of humans and their owners respectively. ;) Don't miss out on this fun picture book!
This book is so great. One of my daughter's favourites, but her dad and I also love it. It's funny and sweet, there are surprises to be found in the illustrations on every page, and the text is also lovely, super nice and rhythmic to read. My daughter is two and she can basically say the lines along with us because it flows so nicely.
A very fun book with wonderful illustrations. My three kids (ages 2, 4 and 6) all really enjoyed this story, and asked to read it again after we’d finished.
One stormy day in the midst of chasing a squirrel to return acorns, a dog loses his human. From the dog's POV. Lots of hilarious moments and funny dog perspective.
