It is saying much when a reader anticipates more for an author and cannot wait for the next book to drop. This one came as a lovely present to me because I have been spending little time online and have been a bad girl in reading emails. So, imagine the one email I opened that day and, "Surprise!", another Protect and Serve book for my enjoyment.
This third installation of Pandora's follows Dallas, the paramedic brother who had to grow up after life fell apart around him, and Saxon, who found himself not sure where he should be when his life went tits up. These men met with animosity on Dallas's side, but Saxon soon showed that he was capable of being a team player. It was interesting watching these two grow together, even when Saxon received devastating news and Dallas was right there with him; until panic reigned. I think because of the dynamic they brought to the table, these two had no reason NOT to fall for one another.
So much happened in this book to cheer about, to gasp, to say, thank heavens. And Mama stepped up to the plate once again and showed superhero efforts. All the brothers were inviting once they got to know Saxon and the team rallied when was needed. The hurricane added a good effect even if it was scary and it was good to see the community pull together.
Patiently waiting for the next book in the series, be it Hennessy or Quentin. Both have interesting backstories and I can't wait to see how Pandora spins their tale. This book I will recommend and encourage new readers to try the series.

We start by diving straight into this story as new transfer, Saxon, does not have the best of starts with brothers Dallas and Ozzy after they are given a heads up about the paramedic. Saxon and Dallas clash straight away and it does make for an entertaining read. When Saxon proves himself on the job, Dallas is forced to reconsider and it doesn't take long to see each other as they truly are. Attraction quickly sparks and it's really sweet with how they move forward with a possible relationship. Both men have their endearing moments but also a couple where you want to shake some sense into them. They share experiences as children that you wouldn't wish on anyone but it's something that helps them to understand each other better and even brings them closer.
There is a lot going on alongside the relationship and hurricane that's incoming. Each man has to make decisions that affect more than just themselves. We meet so very special people that really tug on your heartstrings and bring the family even closer. The family, just what can you even say about them. They seem to be these dream people brought together by David and Mandy under one roof when they decided to foster and then adopt four boys alongside their biological son. Really upstanding members of the community and a fantastic family spirit, always there for each other through anything. It's one of my favourite things about Pandora's writing, the family feel of love and support that they all have for each other.
Saxon's Savior is a very well told hurt/comfort story, it's easy to fall into and go along for the ride with the MC's. Just wish we could have seen/read the men dressed up for Halloween. Another recommended read in this series and from the author.

Although I ended up loving Dallas and Saxon together, I'll admit it did take me a while to warm up to Dallas. And for a good portion of the book, I didn't think Dallas deserved Saxon. The way he and Ozzy treated Saxon when he first arrived at the firehouse was awful and it had me feeling quite sad actually. I get that they are a family and didn't want to replace Hal, but the biggest issue was that it was Dallas's ex, Toby, who had "warned" him about Saxon. I mean, Dallas didn't even know Toby that long and it was already established at the beginning that they knew Toby was a jerk. Despite me struggling to understand their treatment of Saxon in the beginning, Dallas ends up doing right by Saxon - and the adorable little girls who fall into Saxon's life. They made a beautifully sweet little family, and it warmed my heart seeing how Dallas and his foster parents and brothers accepted Saxon without question. The family feels are outstanding, the romance (when Dallas isn't being an sensitive idiot for no reason) is sweet, and the drama during the storm at the end makes their HEA even more satisfying. Looking forward to the next one!

Let me start off by saying... LOVE the cover! *grin*
Now, for the not so loved stuff. ;(
My husband is a paramedic and truthfully I could find no fault with the few procedures that were described... so that was all good and yes there were some VERY emotional scenes (one of the things I love most about Ms. Pine's books is her ability to bring me to tears, whether of joy or of sorrow!) but these three books have been OTT cookie-cutter books that had me questioning why in the world I was putting myself through this torture! *headdesk* :(
The book begins with Ozzy and Dallas acting WAY out of character which in and of itself is weird and then, just like the last book, we have scene after scene of miscommunication and misunderstandings between the two MCs... UGH!!! I fear if I had to pick one word to describe all three of the books in this series so far... it would be PREDICTABLE.
I find myself reading along, enjoying the heck out of the story, and then BAM... it all goes to heck in a handbasket over a situation that isn't even the least bit realistic... grrr
I had said that I was finished with this series, but then I saw the wonderful cover for this book and I talked myself into changing my mind... it probably won't happen for book 4, although... I really want to hear Hennessey's story... *headdesk* LOL!!!

I did like this story, but at times I felt like it was a bit slow. I also felt it was missing the usually Pandora touch I love so much about her books.

get me wrong this is a great story and I would recommend it to someone, but something felt off.
I liked how Dallas and Saxon got off to a rocky start and just when things seem to turn around, BAM! their hit with a hurdle. How Dallas first reacts hurt my heart a little, but I understood where he was coming from. I love Dallas’s family and loved that they rallied to help Saxon.

Saxon's Savior, the third book in the Protect and Serve series, is an awesome read. This Pandora Pine book is easily read as a standalone, but the books are all connected and best enjoyed if read in order.
If you enjoy paramedics falling in love, you'll love this co-worker romance. Dallas and Saxon get off of the wrong foot when they become co-workers. But once the pretenses are dropped, and everything is forgiven, they bond over their similar pasts. They make for a fun couple from the start, but when a wrench is thrown into Saxon's life, things get iffy for the couple.
As for the action and danger, good god, the first action scene had me on the edge of my seat. I could feel the heat from the fire. I could see the men and the car. I could feel the anxiousness of the situation. Wow! What a way to start the action. Classic Pandora Pine writing!
The author also excels in developing strong family units, always visiting with them, and making them an essential part of the storyline. Of course, Dallas is one of the many McCoy foster children. I seriously love this family. The bond between the family members is unbreakable, and dear lord, I love Mindy! I love her and her enthusiasm about helping strays. The whole family is just wonderful, continuing to charm me. They alone make this series a must read for me.
But my favorite part of a Pandora Pine book is always the children she creates. They're lovable, sweet, funny, and always add greatly to the story. This book has two adorable kids, with one that will make you smile and laugh throughout. Seriously, Lola is the cutest kid ever!
Written in alternating 1st person pov, the author continues to impress me. Not only are her characters well developed, it's the writing style that always has me consumed. She manages to set a scene with little details here and there, fully pulling you into the moment. She never bogs the reader down with unnecessary details, but rather just little ones that help you see what's happening. It's truly a gift to be able to write like this, as it's a delicate balance to not overwhelm the reader with too many details.
I absolutely love Saxon's Savior. From the first page, Pandora Pine had me hooked. This men in uniform romance is a feel-good, charming read, with plenty of action and obstacles throughout. This is definitely going on my re-read list.

4.5 stars. The biggest issue I had was with Dallas. He knew Toby all of 5 days & that is if they hooked up on day one of the conference. Then Toby ghosts him afterwards, he acts like he lost the love of his life. 6 months later, Toby calls him out of the blue to warn Dallas about Saxon. He is crushed that he wasn't calling for him. Knowing he's a douche, cause of the ghosting, he immediately believes what he says about Saxon and doesn't give Saxon a chance. The minute Saxon walks in the door on day one, both Dallas & Ozzy lay into him. That also seemed unlike Ozzy. Then when Saxon shares his past, Dallas is even a bigger a&& thinking he is making it up instead of opening up to him. Then he is like comparing Saxon to Toby, has he never dated before? When a bad thing happens in Saxon's life, Dallas bolts. But finally he gets over himself and we get to watch these two fall in love. I also loved seeing Dallas put Toby in his place when he shows up.

Why am I still reading these?
This is a similar book with similar problems. Well there were other issues too. There are parts I like but the instalove is annoying.
Saxon was a paramedic at another house, with lots of homophobic members. He was repeatedly sexually harassed by a coworker, Toby, but wasn't really able to report it nor did he want to "shit where he ate". But he was willing to be whined & dined by his supervisor, Dallas.
Dallas goes on & on about how this guy Toby messed with his head. They spent a week in bed together at a Boston conference, basically a vacay f*ck. Sooooo what, that means its china patterns & destination weddings?
Lots of back & forth with heaps of misunderstandings. The tone leaves alot to be desired because I can't figure out where PP is going with the story.

This book is the third installment in the Protect and Serve series, which centers around the brothers in the McCoy family, and the best one so far. This book focuses on Paramedic Dallas Haynes and fellow paramedic Saxon James who is newly transferred to the Gloucester Firehouse where Dallas and his brother Ozzy work. There are passing references to characters and events from the prior books, but it’s not essential that you read them first.
Saxon has been driven out of his prior firehouse by homophobic colleagues and one co-worker in particular, who was creating a hostile work environment for Saxon with his repeated, unwelcome advances. Saxon has been desperately trying to find a place he can fit in, have his colleagues accept him for who he is, and where he can focus on his work. He has been shunned though, and now shipped off to yet another new firehouse - Ozzy and Dallas’s - hoping for a fresh start and a blank slate to forge new relationships. That is of course immediately sabotaged by the vindictive sexual pursuer from his old firehouse who gives Ozzy and Dallas a “warning” that Saxon has an attitude and is a macho guy who won’t work well with them. Much to Saxon’s (and the reader’s) frustration and disappointment, Ozzy and Dallas at least initially buy into the lies that have been fed to them and give Saxon a very unfriendly welcome. This cold, almost hostile reception from Ozzy and Dallas was a point of consternation for me when reading the book because it is so inconsistent with what we know about their characters. It was disappointing, and somewhat implausible, that they would so readily pre-judge, especially given their own backgrounds and sexuality.
Like all the books in this series, this book is an easy read with likeable characters. However, unlike the opposites attract romance of book 2 (Deacon’s Defender), here we have the like-attracts-like dynamic, with 2 MCs who have the same job, similar personalities, and who both have lingering emotional trauma and scars from their respective, scarily similar, childhoods with drug-addict mothers. This book has a bit more action to it than the prior ones, which I liked, and true to the book’s name, Saxon does indeed find himself in jeopardy and is rescued by Dallas. That provides a bit of hurt/comfort, in addition to the romance and sex, and the overwhelmingly heartwarming experience of being pulled into the orbit of the McCoy family.
Both Saxon and Dallas are well-developed characters, and you’ll find yourself attaching to them both. However, one issue I noted in this book as well as in the prior books in this series, is that the relationship between the MCs could have been given more depth. Here. Dallas and Saxon’s relationship felt rushed. In the end, the relationship worked, but it felt like an opportunity for greater depth was squandered and the two MCs are so likeable, that absence was noticeable. Overall, though, Saxon’s Savior is an enjoyable read with a HEA, and contains a family you want to remain a part of for books to come.

Saxon won my heart over from the start. He is an amazing guy, which all the McCoy's realize immediately...except Dallas and Ozzy. Dallas and his brother, Ozzy, were complete assholes to Saxon upon meeting him. I found it odd that Ozzy wouldn't have called to inquire about Saxon from the Chief of the other firehouse. To go off the word of a guy who treated Dallas so poorly just didn't make sense. So when Saxon got hurt protecting Dallas, and then the rest of the McCoy clan showed up to help and support him, I loved how the parents and brothers had no issue letting Dallas and Ozzy know they were jerks. While the entire family embraced Saxon as one of them now, even Ozzy, Dallas was still a jerk. I didn't hate his character, but I definitely wasn't loving him either. Saxon honestly deserved better than Dallas at that time. When tragedy hit Saxon's family, it was incredible how the McCoy's rallied around Saxon, how all of them stepped up....except Dallas. Oh how I wanted to throttle that man. Thankfully, he stops being a fool, and Saxon is willing to give him a chance. From there on their relationship, and the new little family they had together, was sweet and heartwarming. The way everyone was considered family, was treated as family, and was protected by each other was perfect, and it made me wish I could be part of them. There was a couple snags there at the end. One came in the way of a past that didn't understand that that's what it is, the past, and had no business trying to interfere with the present. The other came in the form of Mother Nature, thankfully Dallas is a stubborn man, and Ozzy is a force all on his own, or this story would have had a very different ending. Everyone came out the other side of that storm stronger and closer than even before. The Thanksgiving dinner was so cute and funny. Two little sweethearts made it even more of a wonderful moment. I loved that Dallas became an incredible partner for Saxon. I loved those adorable little sweethearts. I loved the sappy, sweet, happy ending.

4.5 stars... This is the third book in the series. It stands alone fine but if, like me, you have Series FOMO (you need to know every proceeding detail) then definitely read the first two books prior to this one. If not, you’ll be fine reading this one on its own.
Dallas is the third of five brothers we will be getting stories about. Four are foster brothers brought up by the 5th one’s parents, Mandy and David. Three of the brother (the first three books) are first responders. Dallas is a paramedic. The book begins with Dallas getting a phone call from an ex telling him that a new transfer coming his way is a problem. Dallas immediately informs his older brother Ozzy, the head of the firehouse. So of course when Saxon arrives the brothers act like jerks. Saxon is confused about his welcome. He was happy to get out of his last firehouse after being sexually harassed and pushed out. Now he’s got both his new bosses all over his case and judging him. It’s a powerful beginning and sets up an interesting enemies to lovers trope.
I enjoyed the progression of the story and all the twists and turns. Dallas is a jerk for a lot longer than necessary and I was afraid I was going to have a case of not being able to root for one of the MCs but he manages to turn things around. The big crisis moment had me holding my breath and my heart pounding. The only thing keeping me from losing it completely was knowing romances always have happy endings!
The ending is sweet and a perfect full circle moment for the themes of the book. As usual with Pine’s books we get realistic and flawed characters who make stupid decisions and have to examine their behavior and their attitude. It makes reading the stories that much more enjoyable as it isn’t all pie in the sky perfection. I’m really enjoying this series and seriously in love with Mandy!

Dallas is the third of five brothers we will be getting stories about. Four are foster brothers brought up by the 5th one’s parents, Mandy and David. Three of the brother (the first three books) are first responders. Dallas is a paramedic. The book begins with Dallas getting a phone call from an ex telling him that a new transfer coming his way is a problem. Dallas immediately informs his older brother Ozzy, the head of the firehouse. So of course when Saxon arrives the brothers act like jerks. Saxon is confused about his welcome. He was happy to get out of his last firehouse after being sexually harassed and pushed out. Now he’s got both his new bosses all over his case and judging him. It’s a powerful beginning and sets up an interesting enemies to lovers trope.
I enjoyed the progression of the story and all the twists and turns. Dallas is a jerk for a lot longer than necessary and I was afraid I was going to have a case of not being able to root for one of the MCs but he manages to turn things around. The firehouse is still feeling the loss of one of their own, which occurred in book one. Because of dragging their feet, they lost out on handpicking his replacement. The one they were receiving had a ‘reputation’ that preceded him. Needless to say, nobody was going to be getting off on the right foot in this situation.
Saxon had an uphill battle from the moment he walked up to his new firehouse, but he was stubborn enough, and good enough, to prove he was the right man for the job. Dallas, his new coworker and boss, did not make a good first impression, either, and they would continue to have a rocky relationship for a while longer. Eventually, things smoothed out, and after things got too close to home on a call, they soon discovered they had more in common than they thought. After a while, their crazy chemistry was too much to go unnoticed, but it was more than that. Could it be more, though? Life kept pummeling them left and right, while they took the time to find out. How many hits could they withstand, though?
I liked this story. There were some aspects to their relationship that weren’t as developed as I would’ve liked them to be, but it didn’t keep me from enjoying the story, or these men. Dallas comes from a great found family. They accepted Dallas as one of their own, whether he liked it or not. I enjoyed getting to know more about the family in the book. I felt like the characters were well developed and very likable.
This is book three in the series. While, technically, it can be read as a stand-alone, I wouldn’t recommend it. It is so much better, and background stories would be more meaningful, if you read the series in order. They share characters, and many become more understood through each book, as we learn more about them.

Can the McCoys adopt me please!
Saxon's Savior is the third book in the Protect and Serve series and I have to say that this one was my favorite! It's now Dallas' turn for his very own HEA but it doesn't come easy and to top it off, it's been a while since one of his own was taken from the Gloucester Firehouse 3, losing a near and dear fellow medic has weighed heavily on the firehouse family and it's no surprise (well actually it is) when Ozzy's procrastination on finding a replacement, has been taken out of his hand and already decided upon by the higher ups, in the form of Saxon. Gossip has reached Firehouse 3 and right off the bat defenses are put up and trust is put to the test. Although Dallas and Saxon have some similarities when it comes to their past, they've allowed their own ignorance's bud heads but it isn't until later that maybe they're not rubbing the right way (wink wink). Saxon's Savior is a great read, with the wacky McCoy family always present and even more lovable than the last book, I enjoyed every part of Dallas and Saxon coming together, putting their immature acts aside and trusting one another to forge their own way. The author has written another winner and it's perfect for those looking for a bit of drama, angst, laughs and love. I recommend this MM romance for you! I cannot wait to see who she writes next! Saxon and Dallas make my heart happy. But it took a bit to get there. This is the third book in the Protect and Serve series and is not a standalone - as previous characters play prominent rolls in this book. I would definitely categorize this one as an enemy to lovers story. Dallas is a paramedic in his brother Ozzy's fire station and with the death of one of the other paramedics, a replacement needs to be found. This is where the trouble starts.... Saxon has been assigned to Ozzy's fire station, with no input from Ozzy, as he has been dragging his feet on replacing a beloved member of the fire station. With minimal research into Saxon, Ozzy and Dallas form a less than pleasant opinion. But as with all Pandora stories, Dallas starts to come around and he and Saxon begin a tortured and troublesome journey to their HEA. As things begin to blossom in the romance department, tragedy strikes Saxon and his relationship with Dallas may never recover. On top of this, there is the side character of a hurricane that is approaching their town. Of course, to find out the answers to these predicaments, you must read the book.
As always Pandora does a wonderful job of world building and creating intriguing and well rounded characters. It was all I could do not to want to crawl into the pages of this story and smack Ozzy and Dallas.... As always, I am looking forward to the next book Pandora releases.

I've loved these men from the word go. This is a great series from this author though I feel it's getting a little too focused on the action and how to make each rescue more dramatic rather than remembering the root of the individuals. The McCoy family remains effing amazingly fantastic though, so there's no complaint from me on that one!
Dallas had a rough childhood. And so did Saxon. Learning to overcome that difficulty took Dallas a good family and amazing brothers who knew just what it was like. Saxon needed that. So when Ozzy, who knows not to judge unfairly or prematurely because of his own life and his partner, and Dallas, who never wants to be judged unfairly either, immediately take the word of a stranger over using their own instincts to judge Saxon I was shocked, appalled, and disappointed. Causing unnecessary drama right in the beginning became something extra to work through and rushed the rest of the plot as well as the romance giving neither a chance to bloom, only to flame into existence.
Everything does come together, of course, and the family saves the day, but while I truly enjoyed the story overall, there were enough little things that diminished that enjoyment. I really like the series, the author, and the men they create so I'm not unsatisfied, I just hoped for better from a man who should have known better. Thankfully the McCoy family and the love they find made it through.

Saxon's Saviour is the latest in the Protect And Serve series. This time it's Dallas who's given the Pandora Pine treatment of extremely well written action, family drama (or maybe Dallas might say helpful family interference) and romance.
Dallas just can't seem to help antagonising or insulting Saxon when they first encounter each other...theirs is not a romantic meet cute in the slightest. Once Dallas has gotten over his hangups about Saxon joining his crew at the firehouse, and Saxon can acknowledge that Dallas isn't a complete jerk, their relationship starts to develop. It's a rocky road, though, with drama (external events) and melodrama (mostly from Dallas' past and his resulting hangups and behaviour) putting a spanner in the works. Of course, the two men do manage to overcome the challenges they face and their bond deepens.
As ever in the Protect And Serve series, the main theme is found family. I love how the whole of Dallas' family rallies round for Saxon when he needs all the support he can get. I just LOVE the McCoys in general, though. I'd be delighted if they were my parents-in-law!
This is another strong addition to the series - a well crafted, easy to lose yourself to it story with engaging characters and a great plot. 5*

This is a favorite author and I’ve really been enjoying this series. I love the brothers and strong found family that steps up to welcome and support new members, plus the camaraderie overall all in the first responder community that they are all a part of.
Lots of strong, heartfelt emotions in this book. Dallas and Saxon struggle some with their connection. I think they are so alike in experiences but so different in how they have handled those and matured that it is a connection but also an obstacle in sone ways. Plus they have other external challenges to overcome. However they get there and that makes their HEA all the sweeter.
What made this a 4 star instead of 5 star for me was the timeline and pace-though I’d have given 4.5 if possible as I did enjoy it very much overall. There were a few times where mentions of time passing seemed contradictory to me...implications of more routine time passing in between events but also seemed like, no it was all happening quickly. Almost too quickly. Although I enjoy fast paced action it felt rushed in places.
Overall a very good read and an excellent series. It’s not going to be my favorite book in the series but still loved it, just not as strongly as usual. I am very much looking forward to more in the series too and love every visit with this family of brothers and their men.

Saxon’s Savior had everything I was looking for in a gay romance story. There was chemistry for sure. There was also drama in the form of a natural disaster. Lately, there was a slow heat meaning their feelings were built and not instant.
Dallas Haynes’ life has never been easy or simple. Losing his mother to a drug overdose, made him want to help people and prevent the same fate from happening to other kids. Saxon James has a similar childhood which helps both of them bond.
Dallas does not want to like Saxon, he is replacing a friend on the medical team. But then things begin to change slowly. Then bam, Saxon becomes a step in parent for his sister’s kids after her death. But Dallas does not think he is ready to be in a child’s life.
There is no doubt that Saxon and Dallas have incredible chemistry. No one has ever been able to calm Dallas down from an incident like Saxon. But that does not stop Dallas from trying to deny it. But, in the end, it only draws them closer together.
In Saxon’s Savior, there were not really dull points. Each page and chapter helped to keep the plot moving. I was able to read the book in one day which shows that it really kept my attention. Overall I really enjoyed the book.
The characters were all three dimensional and believable. The setting all made sense and seemed like the story could take place in the real world. Nothing in the book really stood out as being unbelievable. Like I mentioned before I really enjoyed Saxon’s Savior and look forward to going back and reading the other books in the series.

Another McCoy finds love.
This, the third book in the series, tells the story of Dallas and Saxon.
Dallas had an than ideal childhood, until it wasn’t, and he was then fostered by the McCoy family. Saxon’s upbringing wasn’t stellar and although he and Dallas share this commonality, they certainly did not have the perfect start to their relationship.
Both are very likeable characters who work together as paramedics when Saxon is transferred to Gloucester Firehouse Three. They are at the very beginning of the dating phase when Saxon’s circumstances dramatically change and this leads to a bit of a stumble by Dallas before they get their HEA.
The McCoy family once again come to the fore and show what family really means - a major theme throughout the series - and they have huge amounts of love and wisdom to share.
Although Dallas and Saxon have an almost instant attraction, the chemistry builds up for a while before they get into some sweet and tender moments.
This is a very engaging, well paced read with a wonderful cast of main and secondary characters, a dash of angst, a bit of drama, an endearing romance, all held together by the wonderful writing ability of Pandora Pine.
I highly recommend this book and the series as a whole.

Another exciting story in this series.
Saxon's Savior is the third book in Pandora Pine's Protect and Serve series. The story kept me on the edge of my seat for a lot of it and I loved it. While this is the third book in the series it actually would stand alone pretty well. I do think you'd enjoy it more if you read the series in order, though.
Dallas and Saxon are paramedics who end up assigned to the same firehouse. It definitely isn't love at first sight. I wouldn't exactly call this an enemies-to-lovers story, but their relationship does get off to a rocky start.
Both Dallas and Saxon have similar backgrounds with addicts in their families. The author drops a few hints along the way so that one aspect of this story didn't come as a huge surprise but how it was dealt with really made for a good story.
I didn't remember reading about the hurricane in the blurb so that came as a surprise. It provides one last challenge for this couple and made the story that much more of a nail-biter. I hope that the remaining brothers in this family eventually get their own books because I would love reading about them.

Saxon James wishes to make a good impression as a new employee. He needs this - a bright new spot in his life. Especially since his last place of employment left him with an unpleasant moniker. Leave it to his new boss to throw cold water on that idea of a sunny disposition.
Dallas' initial view of Saxon is one to substances that do not mix no matter how often you try and force the uneasiness. That surface opposition is actually an underlying burning desire. An absolute disaster in the making for an employer/employee.
Took some bonding, trust, angst, and smoldering desire for these two to come to grips with what was inevitable. Gloucester Firehouse will never be the same.
Before beginning this series, Pandora Pine was a new author to me. I highly recommend reading this book, but indulge in the first two books as well. Mentions characters from early writings. Completely worth it.

This is intense, dramatic, emotional, sweet and romantic. Saxon has been pretty much on his own since he was 20. When his parents died, his big brother took off out west, and his sister turned to drugs. He talked to her and his neices once a week, and saw them regularly, until the man who was harassing him at work managed to get him transferred. That's when he met Ozzy, his boss, and Dallas, his partner for the ambulance. They're also brothers, and things didn't start off well between the 3 of them. Both his new teammates were raised in foster care, along with 2 other men. Their parents "adopt" Saxon into the family immediately. Both Dallas and Saxon are drawn to each other, but there are trust issues. They just get started on a relationship when tragedy strikes. It pulls Dallas's family and Saxon together. Both are stubborn, both grew up with addicts for parents and both live their lives to help others. I didn't like Dallas in the beginning, but he eventually earned my respect. Saxon was awesome from the first. There are so many things that happen, and most of them are unexpected. I loved this and having it occur in Massachusetts was great, but the Sox comment was not appreciated.

You think he is going to be this playboy, but he really just wants to find the one, without realizing that is what he wants. Like all the McCoy's he has a tragic past that pretty much shapes how he reacts to current issues.
Saxon is the new paramedic on the scene. He doesn't get a warm welcome from Ozzy or Dallas, due to an old coworker spreading lies. He is made out to be "know it all" and not a team player, but it is incorrect.
Even though these two don't get off on a great start we get to see them slowly warm up to each other. It doesn't hurt that one gets hurt for the other.
Both of these guys have similar pasts that help them to bond together. Just as we see them start to take their relationship further, tragedy strikes that makes them take a hard look at what's important.
This book is just as entertaining as the others in the series. Both Dallas and Saxon and hot headed guys that lock horns but are able to put issues aside when it comes to work.
I definitely recommend this book. I would suggest reading the other books first, so you have an idea of all the relationships.

Awesome story with strength, passion, overcoming the odds and finding love. i really fell in love with Toby, what an amazing man and great character with depth, soul and passion. I was so glad to see these guys quickly overcome their misperceptions and miscommunication to create a friendship and partnership of honesty and love. The strength of heart that both these guys have is impressive and inspiring. I loved the made family and how awesome Dallas's family steps up and makes a real difference.
The writing really flowed and the pacing was great. My interest never had a chance to waiver and I did read this in one enjoyable afternoon. Dallas and Toby bring a lovely mix of steam, heart and strength to create really memorable characters.
This is book three of the Protect and Serve series and can be read as a stand-alone. However this is a wonderful series and I would recommend reading the books in sequence for maximum enjoyment.

Superior Saving Skills. In this continuation of the new (non-paranormal) series from Pine, a lot of people need saving in a lot of different ways, and everyone saves everyone else in their own ways. :D Along the way, yes, Saxon does find a Savior - in more ways than one (though religion is never mentioned, for those worried about that either direction). But you get all kinds of other things too - superheroics during a traffic accident gone bad (think: severe accident, 80s movie style action ;) ), more superheroics during a hurricane to bookend the tale (with a different person/ people being the superhero(es) here), and some subtler saving - saving from preconceptions, saving from bad relationships, saving from family disasters that could have been far worse, etc etc etc. Overall arguably one of the strongest books in this series, and yet another fine example of family coming together - particularly the family you choose. Very much recommended.

This is an excellent addition to the Protect and Serve series and I really enjoyed it. I love Saxon but it took me quite a while to get past how badly Dallas treated him in the beginning. Why Ozzy and Dallas would believe Toby's lies about Saxon didn't make a lot of sense especially considering the history Dallas had with him. After Saxon had to prove himself things were better but Dallas still held back even though he was falling for him. When the worst happens and Saxon's life changes dramatically Dallas is slow to step up to support him. Dallas will have to decide what he really wants and show Saxon that he is all in if they want to move forward with their relationship. I love how wonderful and caring Dallas's parents are and how his brothers are always there for each other. The ending is great and I can't wait to read the next book in this entertaining series.

Gah !! Dallas and Ozzy were such colossal jerks to Saxon on a former fling's heads up but Toby was just stirring the pot. Saxon is starting over at a new fire station and after a not so warm welcome receives devastating and life changing news. Both Saxon and Dallas handle this differently but I understood Dallas's reluctance and got annoyed that no one saw where he was coming from. Saxon was such a sweetie and took everything in his stride and Dallas really stepped up but their happy ever after was in danger in the form of hurricane Toby. I genuinely enjoyed this book and especially loved how all the family supported each other and rallied round Saxon, the little girls Lola and Sophie were a delight even after their colourful antics. I got all emotional at the end when I though happiness was about to be snatched from their grasp but never count out family. Can't wait for the next brothers book, Hennessey !!

This is a great addition to the Protect and Serve series. I love the brothers and their parents, and it makes me happy to see each man find his perfect match. This time, the focus is on Dallas. While I think Dallas treats Saxon unfairly often on their quick road to love, I still think he's a good man who deserves happiness.
Saxon is sweet and caring, and his interactions with his nieces melt my heart. He goes through so much during this story, I hurt for him. As usual, it's wonderful to see Dallas's parents immediately take Saxon in as part of the family. I love these people! The funny and the heartbreaking scenes with the little girls are wonderful, and the sexy moments between Dallas and Saxon are hot.
These characters are lovable and deserving of their satisfying HEA. I look forward to the next book in this entertaining series.

This was the third story in the Protect and Serve series. Each story seems to get better and better. Dallas is an EMT at Firehouse Three and needs to replace an EMT who has fallen teammate. The choice is taken out of his hands by the higher ups. Saxon is sent to take the fallen teammates position. He has been branded a troublemaker and NOT a team player by the higher ups. But when he arrives, and everyone (but Dallas and Ozzy) meets him they realize that the stories might not be true. I love the family dynamics that is woven all thru this story, not only within the firehouse, but also Dallas’s family. The character development and world building in this series is wonderful! Loved it!! I am voluntarily leaving a review form an advanced copy that I received. My reviews are solely based on my thoughts and opinions.

That was a delightful read that was full of lather, emotion, action, adrenaline, and some twists and turns that spiced the reader’s experience. At first sight the two characters seems to be complete opposite and the first impression of each other is terrible thanks to a vengeful ex.
The more time the spend together they realise their feelings but are afraid to voice them. A long string of events and the aforementioned ex try to create a wedge between them but some extreme circumstances brings them together like nothing other.
There are some moments that are extremely charged with emotion where doubt and some past experiences try to create havoc, but also some happy ones like the proposal.
I really enjoyed the book and I’m looking forward to see what happens next.
