Who isn’t suffering from the “quarantine blues” right now? What can we do about it? Author Julie Schooler has plenty of suggestions in her new book, "Embrace Your Awesomeness." She proposes that now – when distractions are stripped away – is the perfect time to take your life off autopilot and concentrate on more important matters.

Now is the time to let go of fears, to practice self-love, and develop self-worth, self-esteem, and self-confidence, she advices. Time to control your thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and actions. Time to let go of perfectionism, procrastination, people-pleasing and playing small (not living up to your potential, going for your dreams, or taking reasonable risks).

During these stressful times, self-care is more important than ever. And that doesn’t necessarily mean a long bubble bath – I finally found someone who doesn’t find this relaxing like me! Schooler’s words regarding self-care resonated with me – nourish, connect, grow, play, heal, move, give, indulge.

Small nuggets of wisdom are spread throughout the book. Schooler advocates using empowering language. For example, instead of saying, “I need to…” say, “I choose to…” Or instead of saying, “I hope..” say, “I know…” She urges readers to be creative, experiment, and step outside their comfort zone. As Schooler points out: “Just outside your comfort zone is where the magic is.”

This book has tons of tips, suggestions, and challenges that can be used to help you feel in control during these times of certainty and strive to be your best self.

Ok, there are many self-help books out there but “Embrace your Awesomeness” does a really good job of keeping things simple and (pardon the banana pun), digestible. There’s tips and tricks to help you tip the scales on how you feel about yourself. And I mean really feel about yourself.

Julie un-apologetically calls our world Banana-pants crazy and she guides the reader through a labyrinth filled with lizards, bats-in-a-cage and mutant-orange caterpillars. To find out where you fit into this self-loathing spectrum you will need to read the book.

I got a lot out of Embrace Your Awesomeness (and I’m no stranger to self-help books). It shone a light on just how I really thought of myself and let’s just say I can do better. A LOT BETTER. Julie challenged me to strengthen my self-love muscle which to be honest, has been lacking many years of very little exercise and I am sure I’m not alone.

Amusing anecdotes, very poignant observations and simple yet out-of-the-box instructions got me back on track to experience a more fulfilling life. Don’t let the bent fruit on the cover fool you, this is very serious stuff and very relevant to everyone from new self-explorer to the almighty self-improvement professionals.

Clear, fun & encouraging handbook for self empowerment that shares relatable info, easy tips & helpful tools. This is a quick & motivating read, full of practical steps that I can immediately apply to my life. If you want to have all the insight & advice in one place to tap into & let your awesomeness bloom day by day, this book is a great choice. "Embrace Your Awesomeness" presents the awesomeness pep talk that I needed, & has motivated me to challenge myself & take daily actions to form awesome habits for life without regrets. I would have loved a printable page/poster to go with this book for putting my 30 day challenges up in my inspiration corner, but will type up or handwrite my own & will be referring back to the book often. The highlight for me was that I gained a lot of confidence while reading, & I'm already feeling more assertive, creative & awesome daily in my working & personal life.

The title to this review is author, Julie Schooler's first question in her latest book, " Embrace Your Awesomeness: Feel in Control and Be Your Best Self in this Banana-Pants Crazy World."
Ms. Schooler takes you on adventure to a better life and shows readers how to take all the steps to getting back to the "real you."
Easy to follow suggestions and challenges are entwined in each chapter. She adds practical advice and throws in some humor, which is something we all need right now.
Her book will help you, "Dream Big," "Self-Love," and show you ways to, "Step Out of Your Comfort Zone," and so much more.

I highly recommend this book. Readers will enjoy it and they will walk away feeling so much better about themselves and how to get through your daily lives.

And yes Julie Schooler has done it again! She's researched thoroughly, sifted through a myriad of theories and created a clear cut pathway to embracing your awesomeness. In her delightful breezy style with personal anecdotes interspersed with solid evidence, Julie has once again produced a winner. The easy to follow explanations are followed by practical tools, solutions and simple challenges to set you on the right pathway. No need to read endless mindfulness blogs or self-help books as this one book condenses them all and delivers simple and practical solutions to lift you up during these "banana-pants crazy" times!

Julie Schooler has done it again. This book assists individuals to help embrace their "awesomeness". Julie has taken the topic of bettering oneself during the current situation of the world. this book is not limited to the current situation of the world but it can be applied to any time in your life. She address the issue of body image problems and self esteem which really hit home for me! I am grateful that I was able to receive a copy of the book to review. I loved it so much that I then purchased it to share it with family and friends going through tough times!

Author Julie Schooler fills this book with easy-to-follow ideas that will help you not just reach but understand and appreciate your awesomeness. Written during the Covid-19 pandemic, the author gives us examples and techniques to counter those blues and fears we may have. An encouraging book that will be sure to boost your self-confidence for when you need that extra pick-me-up!

Julie has an amazing way of getting to the heart of things. I love that we obviously read many of the same authors on reaching your potential. She takes that information and gives it a new sparkle that can really grab you. I'm ready to take some action in my life because of her.

This is a fun practical book that helps you realize your greatness is within you. A few exercises to push you to reclaim it!! Julie is awesome 😎
