What if every conspiracy theory you'd ever heard of was true... and it still wasn't enough. Earth is entering a new age of peace. No weapons, countries ready to put down their armies, every home benefiting from megacorp generosity, but if you’re Black Jack Hannigan this sounds a bit like fattening up the calf before the slaughter. He’s seen them, creatures straight out of mythology. Winged tigers, ghouls, werewolves, they all exist; all part of the same millennia-old conspiracy. The “People” are manipulating our society, readying us for sacrifice to their Masters unless Black Jack and his friends can bring their schemes to light. It will take a new generation of weapons being developed by the icy Dr. Rebecca Winter to protect a defenseless world against these creatures, and even then it’s a race. For once the People have opened the Eye of the Apocalypse it’s all over. The Masters will consume the world, just as they have countless others before us. The first of a new 5-book series that combines cyberpunk, magical fantasy, a touch of horror, and a whole lot of paranoia. For this is the story that defines the term "biblical-level conspiracy theory".

But not for long as out of nowhere these violent creatures come out and rip the priest apart as Black Jack tries to take him to safety and here is where our story takes many dark and dangerous turns. Falvy offers them sanctuary why question it? On pages 158-160 the author lets us meet the characters and who and what they do. The Arch Bishop was studying the margin notes in the Bible, Dr.Falvy offered food and lodging plus getting needed to learn about the creatures and more. So many pieces to put into place and a museum that holds or might hold some answers. Every step of the way they are followed and Anya , Rebecca, my favorite character Hyram, Agent Black and Black Jack enter worlds and places that the author created plus unusual weapons shot, creatures that seem almost human in their scenes, actions and abilities, as they encounter guards in the museum, road blocks and hoping that the head of the museum will cooperate, as you find out in page 203. Then Rebecca and Anya have their differences and for some reason the doctor wants to learn more about her psychic abilities and goes about it in a way that takes Anya aback. It gets more intense let’s us become part of the wars, the dangers and we join Anya as her arrogance and her determination goes with Hyram to buy a car with super speed , secret compartments and weapons you’d never believe . Each member of the team has his/ her way of handling situations yet at times as the hitching out, the danger is always there you wonder in the end will they come together as one. The scenes in Las Vegas and in the gambling areas turn violent. The man who Keri’s winning as both Agent Black and Black Jack monitor his actions but no matter where they are gangs follow, creatures appear and you wonder if the will find the answers when the final book The Dig unveils more. Add in Genner, the War Wagon and Hyram plus what happens in the trailer , the technology added in this time period and the events in the turret in the final chapter, you wonder who will survive and hold your breath when Anya goes silent and Rebecca is hurt. The beginnings is just the start of much more. Fran Lewis just reviews
Welcome to a thrilling journey into the world of conspiracies turned up to eleven! In 'Cyberdawn: Beginnings' by Mark Anthony Tierno, conspiracy theories are not just theories; they're stark reality. Right from the beginning, this book hooks you with its audacious premise. Imagine a world where Earth seems to be basking in an era of peace. Countries are gladly stashing away their weapons, and mega-corporations are showering generosity on everyone. But this picture-perfect utopia doesn't convince everyone, especially not Black Jack Hannigan. He's witnessed the unbelievable—mythical creatures like winged tigers, ghouls, and werewolves—all woven into an intricate conspiracy that spans centuries. Things take an even more intriguing turn with the entrance of Dr. Rebecca Winter, working on cutting-edge weaponry to safeguard our vulnerable world from these enigmatic creatures. Now, if I were to nitpick, it'd be about the chapter lengths. Some might find them a tad long, potentially interrupting the reading flow for a few readers. But, let's be honest, that's a minor speed bump when you consider the remarkable level of detail and how this story unravels. It's worth noting that 'Cyberdawn: Beginnings' is only the first installment in a five-book series. So, if you're up for an electrifying rollercoaster ride through a world filled with conspiracies, mythical beings, and an epic struggle for survival, this is just the beginning. Mark Anthony Tierno weaves a narrative that's both captivating and full of twists that will keep you guessing at every turn. Despite those lengthy chapters, this book's intricate storytelling and well-crafted plot make it a compelling four-star read, with the promise of more excitement to come in the series.
