Lots of practical advice for women from managing your cycle to being healthy to reversing the narrative that's been put in your head by a society dominated by the male perspective. I will revisit this book time and time again. It feels like the sort of book that I wish had been around in my 20s.
I loved this book. Especially the sections on hormonal patterns mirroring the seasons. It has helped me understand my cycle and prioritise my health and happiness.
Every woman should read this book. I wish I read this when I was younger as there were so many moments I was blown away by the information. Reading this years ago would have made a huge difference in my life and understanding how my body works. All women should have this knowledge and I'm so grateful that I can share this with my daughters so they won't have to go through the struggle I did when it comes to the female body. It's written so well and easy to read and totally relatable. A must read.
So disappointing. I thought this was going to provide some practical advice, which it did. But not enough for menopausal women with children who are grown. The information is generic and nothing you didnt already know (i.e. greens are good for you, stay hydrated). It's very much aimed at the younger woman with children who doesnt have enough time for herself and is burdened by being a people-pleaser. If you are this person, this is the book for you, it will build your confidence. But if you already dealt with this shit years ago, dont bother. The 'sparkly' tone really grated as well, but perhaps that is because I'm turning into a cynical, jaded old woman. Perhaps I should write that book myself
I enjoyed this book and I think the information was really useful, and I know it’s called get your sparkle back so I should have expected it to be super ‘sparkly’ but sometimes I wish it was less alliteration and sparkle metaphors and some advice? But that being said I recommend and it’s interesting!!
