I loved that this book showcases both sides of the coin--a married couple, and someone who is single. I loved how the author explored the marital struggles especially when it comes to ministry. I loved the recurrent theme throughout the book which was dying to ourselves, and learning to surrender to God's will for our lives. I also loved the emphasis on not ruling out endless possibilities, and not limiting the hand of God in the way He works. It was beautiful to see how everything unfolded because for majority of the book, I could not predict what would happen next (which is a good thing).
The biggest encouragement I took away from this book was the powerful significance of waiting on God. The last chapter says "Wait and see" and I loved that the ending still left the reader with some degree of uncertainty. I thought that was very realistic because many times in life, we find ourselves in situations where we know nothing for sure other than the fact that we can trust in the God who knows all things.
Great sequel to the first book. My emotions where just all over the place. One great lesson I learnt is how people don't count the cost of what they praying for. I really loved every bit of the books. I highly recommend this book.
I'm enjoyed reading this second book on the series. I like the depth of the characters and how they keep growing in the narrative. Maybe there should be a alert for sensitive issues. All in all a great read.
So the journey continues in 'WTSITW" 2 - Now You know where it pinches with the characters growth and depth in God’s word and love.
I appreciate that there is progression with the characters and see firsthand how they struggle with decisions that has major impacts in their lives. The total surrender to Jesus was for me the highlight of the Book as shown in lives of all the characters.
Tope is indeed a teacher of the word as you can clearly see how she weaves the word of God in its depth with the heart of the characters and their journey.
As always, she tackles real issues - miscarriages, standing for justice regardless, trusting God in Hs fullness and total surrender.
Now You Know Where It Pinches feels even closer to reality than the first book. Honest, relatable, and deeply rooted in faith, it’s a story about surrender, growth, and trusting God’s timing.
