When you’ve lived a life like his, the last thing you want is for history to repeat itself.
Lex has teamed up with mad engineers, clashed with technology-obsessed terrorists, and faced murderous robot hordes. He’s even traveled through time. He has skills no one in history has ever had.
He’ll need them.
Devastating cyber-attacks are targeting him. His closest allies are nowhere to be found. Ominous threats from his past seem to be leaking back onto his life. With the help of an off-kilter ship AI and his ex, Lex will have to get to the bottom of it all. If he doesn’t, the galaxy’s days are numbered.
Nova Igniter is the sixth novel in the action-packed Big Sigma series by Joseph R. Lallo.
At the end of Joseph R. Lallo's Nova Igniter, the final volume in his fabulous Big Sigma series, I find myself at somewhat of a loss.
This volume perfectly fits as the conclusion of this rich and inventive series. It exceeds all expectations for excitement, adventure, world building, "science" fiction, technological invention, humor, human and not-so-human relationships, robotic psychological evolution. You name it, it's all there. For my taste, Joseph R. Lallo is a scifi writer of the first rank, among the very best of the breed!
So why am I at a loss? The answer is quite simple. Because, unless I continually re-read it, I will no longer be in close contact with the wonderful cast of characters, not all "human," that Mr. Lallo has master-crafted for the Big Sigma series. I will not feel the softness of Funk fur on my neck. I will worry about how things will turn out for Lex and Preethy. I will not be able to follow Ma's evolution. And I will not have to dodge the flying parts as Karter Dee creates his next inventions.
These characters became part of my personal inner world. That's something only the best writers can give you. It is rare to encounter that feeling and I thank author Joseph R. Lallo for giving it to me! Perhaps he can give it to you, as well!
Why this series isn't at the top of best sellers lists world wide is a mystery to me. Joseph Lallos white board of plot twists and turns and who did what, when and where must be huge. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I do hope there is another
I did feel, however, that this one just fell a little short of the usual fun and shenanigans that we're used to in this series, and the temporal stuff was a little mind bending at times (but then temporal stuff usually is). All in all, it felt like a bit of an inbetweeny while we wait for an update on Lex's love life and racing career. Still a good read though, and we've now ended up with yet another version of Ma permanently in existence: which can't be all bad.
Love this series, but this one just fell flat for me. It felt like sort of a greatest hits of plot points that just never really went anywhere: the whole gang is back together, Mich and her assistant are running around, there's a new funk, and of course we have gen mechs again. They just...didn't really do much? Also, if Michella never showed up in another novel, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't miss her.

A fun and fitting conclusion to the 5 part story. It brings all the loose ends together about the Lex time scenes, something untold until now. The author has a talent for complicated time travel events and keeps the reader immersed in the story. Kudos Joe.
Good read. I like how it blended the back and forth timelines enough fir me to follow but keep it interesting and wondering what was next. I’ve really enjoyed the series so far and this addition is right on track.
Whoop Whoop. Another awesome adventure with Lex and Ma.
If you want action, adventure, cool science, and space, this is a series you will want to read from the beginning. Trevor keeps being the one. Big Sigma is awesome. Keep writing and I will keep reading.
I love the Big Sigma books. The is an imaginative adventure with excitement, suspense, and daring. Lex is a character that you can cheer and laugh at the same time.
"Negative": The book ends very fast after the main plot is concluded. I think there could have been more of an outro. Maybe a reflection of the relationship of Lex and Preethy and/or Michella. Especially regarding the fact that the whole relationship thing started the book. Did Lex even think of her during or after the EHRIc plotline?

There’s only one thing that I dislike about this series. IT’S OVER! It’s a good thing Joseph R. Lallo has more than one series available! Free-Wrench here I come!
