Sorry to read the last book in this series though it ended on a good note with two interesting plots resolved. This series has a fascinating group of support characters. The long-term friendship between the main character, Ruth, and her best friend Wren has been particularly real and enjoyable throughout this series. They are an amazing duo.

I received a copy from BookSprout; this is my honest review
-So Sheriff Blevins does have a sense of humor: "Next time you ladies go on a road trip you might want to take the hearse". LOL, bodies do pile up with this trio.
-We had more supernatural here than in the other books and it was intriguing to hear how Cassie interacted with them or what came out of it. Suspense is present from the get-go and doesn't leave you until the end. There's a bit of mystery too. Ed and Ruth are getting flirty. Fortunately, we don't get more than that; it's a mystery after all.
-Okay, so I thought Ruth was literally a stupid female for going out with a gun she doesn't know how to use and not in law enforcement and tries to save either her cat, her daughter or her boyfriend. I wasn't sure which. She doesn't like to listen to orders but Ed was right and she should have stayed put.
-Who was the 4th body? Charley's secretary? No one ever confirmed that one.
-All the other stories and/or investigations were started and finalized in the same book. Not this one. Some research are resolved but one gets away and you really don't know what happens next. I'm hoping the author has a new book coming out soon so we don't lose the thread.
-Editing errors are minimal; except from what I wrote below, the biggest one I found was "came out to here bring your", which is nothing, really.
-Stella was dubbed by Mrs. Dealey, not Mr. Dealey, and the movie was "A Streetcar Named Desire" not "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof".
-In this story, Ruth thinks Dean has been smart to make the place soundproof. In an other book, she thought it was wasting money since everyone were wearing headphones.

I am a HUGE fan of Rysa Walker. I first started reading her YA/Sci-Fi series CHRONOS. When I found her cozy mystery ‘Thistlewood Star Mysteries” I felt like I hit the jackpot! I enjoy Rysa’s writing style. Her technique draws you into the story. When I read these mysteries, I fell like I am writing shotgun with the characters, like I am just another part of the sisterhood!
Comic Sans for the Ex is a fast paced read, full of plot twists, friendship/ sisterhood, forgiveness and family bonding.
If you are looking for a series to immerse yourself into, I highly recommend you read Thistlewood Star Mysteries!

This is my favorite cozy mystery series by one of my favorite authors. Yes, I received an ARC but that is because I have read and loved all of Rysa Walkers books starting with her Timebound time travel book for which she won the Amazon Breakthrough Novel award in 2013.
In Thistlewood book 5, Ruth, Wren and Cassie try to solve the mystery of Ruth’s missing Ex who is presumed to have committed suicide after killing his business partner. There is also a local mystery of a missing quilt to keep the trio busy. These books are light mysteries and a great escape from reality.

Witty characters,gossip location,dumb sheriff ,friendly &OCCASIONAL CREEOY MURDER, like any hometown
I love ALL of Ms. Walter's book. I accidentally read a couple out of order that I was still able to enjoy the book without reading the one before. She has a lot of different books to fit different age groups and/or choose from different genres . I like that the author can provide books from teenage to scary or adult books. I gave her five stars because you don't always see what's coming even though you think you met.🤔 Great book

A great, well written cozy mystery you can't put down. The story is captivating and holds your attention as you try to figure out what happened. The characters are engaging, intriguing and easy to get to know. A perfect read for those who love a good cozy mystery with the right amount of suspense, intrigue and mystery.

Ruth is drawn into a web of lies regarding her ex. Because of respect for her daughter, Cassie, she investigates this mystery. I especially liked the way Ed and Wren supported Ruth in her search for answers.

Love her writing!
Keeps me guessing until the end. Lots of real characters and story lines and fun to keep me reading. She is an author that I look forward to reading her other books

That was entertaining! More bodies than I'm used to, but interesting characters -- people lying, cheating, mother-daughter tension, the whole works. I was surprised by the ending -- and the ex just disappeared? again? huh.

Excellent!
I love, love, love this book - this whole series! Wonderful characters, lots of action, cozy small town setting. I fervently hope there will be more books in this series!

I enjoyed all 5 books of this cozy series. Well written, great characters, modern, strong women, good stories. Good summer reading.
