If you like the way the Maze Runner was written, but want a completely new story, this is the book for you. It’s so intricately woven that it’s certain to keep you on your toes the whole time. It’s a book obviously written to be mysterious and encourage the readers to think a lot. The secret code in the back is especially intriguing, and I’ve slowly been figuring it out.
This entire book is so intricately written! It kept me on my toes and thinking constantly, in addition to movement in the plot with the incredible characters. It has a similar writing style as the maze runner in some ways, but one of my favorite parts is how well the third person omniscient point of view is used to give insight into so many characters. Something that I haven’t seen before really in other books that made me really enjoy Over Earth was the post chapter dialogues that hinted at switches in the plot, but didn’t give too much away. The whole 349 pages were so suspenseful and mysterious, overall incredibly captivating to read. All in all, it was an incredible book, and I can’t wait to read the sequel when it comes out!
Started out really strong but then got weird and the characters started to not make sense. Didn't really flesh out certain characters to make them stand out.
