It’s 1978. Jake Payne—a young small-town trial lawyer— longs to escape his past and practice corporate law on a bigger stage. When he snags an extraordinary trade secrets case, it could be his ticket out. But secrets multiply and obstacles turn nasty. Curious anomalies, anonymous assaults, real deaths. Jake and an unlikely band of allies race against time and vicious ultra-nationalists to foil a geopolitical plot. On the biggest stage of all
Tom Roy has written an exciting, well-researched, and masterful work, full of suspense and unforseen turns. The character development and transformation is exceptional. (I would suggest jotting down the character names and roles/positions as you go along. It'll be easier to follow who's doing what to whom.) Looking forward to the next Jake Payne adventure.
