the way he talks to her and treats her is disgusting , and it's a lot saying this since this is a fast read and should be all hot and good you know? i just didn't like it, AND i hate the fact he actually had sex with her mom, i know he is her step dad , but still, i hoped will be a case where they married for other reasons.

DNF @ CHAPTER 5

I am on a mission to find the best author who writes erotic novellas.

I'd seriously have to lecture myself for even trying this one

Imagine that? Teasing him? The man who has sex with my mother? Talk about gross.

I thought, for the first time, I was reading a novella where the main character isn't attracted to her step-dad. Interesting start.

But the lead-up to the first scene was a little, no very, weird. The situation did not make sense to me. It felt like the step-dad was bullying her and not because he is attracted but because he wanted to use her.

Maybe I knew it all along – that he was attracted to me.

Then came Pixie's a little too early revelation.

Pixie is a complicated girl and the step-dad is a guy who refused to tell her outright what he wants her for. He was just skirting around and threatening how he could tear her with his XL sized dick.

By the way, princess. Don’t even think about telling your mother about this,” he warns me

Wait, what? I thought he would have said he had no feelings for her mother and only her.

But what really made me close the book was:

As if it couldn’t get any worse, Baron’s parting gift is a peck on the forehead, the way someone would kiss their dog. My stepfather. My rapist.

There is nothing more messed up than being attracted to your rapist so bye I'm out.

WTF!? I don't know where to begin with how wrong this one was, but if you like humiliation rape themes, abuse, and sick Stepdad Daughter relationships then this book is for you.

Personally, I couldn't even finish this one, it went way over my boundary limit. I would have liked to keep reading in hopes of finding out that the MC got a HEA somehow but with the way things were headed she was definitely going to end up trapped in a relationship with her abusive stepfather and nothing I had read so far was forgivable under any circumstances.

I didn't read the synapse for this book only the title before reading it, but it led me to believe the MCs love interest would be unconventional (Ruthless Alpha Type) but her protector, I didn't realize that the person she was going to need to be protected from was her "love interest"/stepfather. But this is why you should never judge a book by its cover.

I'm addicted to the forbidden and taboo and the blurb to this one snagged my interest right from the start. A sexy older step-dad and his bratty teen step-daughter? Uh, yes, please!

I knew going in, this was going to be more gritty than I'm used to and I was right. But not being a quitter, I kept on even if some scenes made me cringe (not in a good way) and brace myself (things got crazy, real fast!) for some unpleasantness.

Overall, this was a different read that started off really wrong but along the way, revealed a different side to both MCs that had me glued to my ereader. It still stayed really wrong but the author manages to put her own spin on things to make it more palpable.

If you can keep an open mind remember, things aren't as black and white as they first appear, this book is a quick taboo read with a twist. Not for everyone!

Triggers:

Although I was expecting a dark read and the taboo dynamic between the two MCs was revealed in the blurb, I wasn't prepared for the degrading name calling or forcefulness of some scenes. Turns out those are some hard limits for me. That being said, the ending made up for it a bit and although not my brand of kink, I can definitely see others enjoying this rough around the edges erotic romance way more.

I needed Baron to show he had a softer side. I liked his possessiveness but often times it came off as controlling rather than protective. The epilogue shows you his softer side but by than it was too little too late. I had a hard time reading the sex scenes because he was always determined to degrade and humiliate the heroine. That wasn't sensual or kinky. I get this is a kink for some but for me, I wanted him to move past the anger and give me another emotion that would show his feelings have grown and this wasn't just hate f*cking or revenge to get back and Pixie and her cheating mom.

With that missing, the story felt disconnected and one sided.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

When Pixie pushes her stepfathers limits, she gets more than she bargained for. Baron is entranced by his young stepdaughter, and he'll do anything to have her.

Steamy and features a virgin heroine and an Alpha that will do anything to possess her.

Pixie lives with her mother and stepdad, Baron. Baron is a billionaire who is loves to be in control of everything around him. Pixie likes to push his buttons but doesn't really know why at first. She then understands why. This book is a little dark bully. It is an interesting read.

Stepdaughter/stepfather romance.

Heroine and Hero’s first sexually encounter sucks.. she felt gross after and says it was rape I couldn’t really root for Hero.

Also, Hero actually has sex with heroine’s mom.. she cheated and pulled away had she not would Hero still have been with her?

**SPOILERS**

This is not a classic romantic novel. The reader must be open minded to read this novel to be objective at the momento to read and evaluate this book.
When I began to read this novel, I was expecting a really dark and controversial novel. Even though the theme is not the classic romantic novel single girl, single boy, met and fall in love. In this case, the novel is between the girl and her step father. The author made a really good work describing the situations in a delicate way in order to make this book more realistic that is not easy to discuss.
This is the story of Pixie, an eighteen year old living with her mother and billionaire step-father. The story begins with Pixie trying to challenge constantly he step-father wearing unappropriate short, short pants. But things got out of control when she was going on a date with the prick hokey team captain and handsome step dad, Baron, decides to teach her a lesson. Only that the lesson, involved her to get completely exposed to his dark desires and make her evaluate her whole situation at home. Thigs continue to escalate when Pixie realized that her mother is cheating at her husband and Pixie's feelings getting more disturbed.
The story got twisted when Pixie realized that she had feelings for Baron, however, she knows that her mom is cheating at Baron. They finally ended together and making plans for a future until an unexpected twist arose and Baron ended in jail.
The story continue with a with Pixie trying to make justice to Baron and geting Baron out of jail knowing that he mother was behind all the scheme that got Baron in jail.
The story has a happing ending where all lies and conflicts got fixed.

If you like Bully themes...

*there will be spoilers in this review*Not really sure what to say about this book. It’s not a sweet n swoony romance, the hero is a big bully to the heroine, calling her names and pushing physical boundaries. This will definitely trigger some readers. It’s not my favorite trope, but I’ve read far worse that scarred my soul and I can say that this book didn’t sink to the levels of depravity and abuse that other dark romance books can sink. It was pretty tame and it didn’t go on for too long. A great positive is that the hero doesn’t cheat on the heroine as soon as he decides that she’s it for him.

Hero’s past is mentioned, he is with heroines mother and they once had a sexual relationship—this is a step-dad/step daughter, taboo romance so it fills within the theme of the book. It wouldn’t be very taboo if it wasn’t a real marriage in some ways. Heroine is innocent. There is abuse. There is some brief OM drama, which incites hero’s jealousy. there is no cheating once hero notices heroine as a woman. HEA with epilogue.

Baron’s cold-blooded determination has brought him far in his business. But when his stepdaughter, Pixie, goes too far in taunting her body at him, Baron will show Pixie just how merciless he can be when he gives her the punishment she has been asking for. Pixie’s horror soon turns to red hot lust as she gives into her dark desires. When someone close threatens to tear their relationship apart, Pixie will show just how brutal she can be in getting justice for her man.

I thought that is was a great book! This was Ms. Rose's first time doing a dark book and I really hope it is not her last. This book is told from Pixie's POV and it was great. I loved the darkness that Pixie has to wade through in this book. Pixie had to grow up and "thanks" to Baron's darkness she is able to. I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait to see what comes out next!

This book is dark, the plot is a taboo subject of stepfather and stepdaughter relationship/romance. There are also a number of different triggers in it. It’s amazing how much the author has fitted in such a short book. The characters have some depth to them, and they are not always the most likable of people. You really do need to be a fan of dark romance to even finish reading this book let alone to enjoy reading it.

Who needs words?!?! I loved this book. Yes, it got dark but it was a hot dark. You could feel the heat through the story. Yes, there was name calling....but that was all part of the frustration in Barons feelings. He was trying to save her from herself, right?!?!
I loved it. Highly recommended

An story that seemed more about his dominance towards her in a selfish and dangerous way than a romance. I thought the author took a chance with this story maybe trying to make it a dark romance but it didn’t work for me in that respect. Too much taboo, too much name calling which wasn’t true and was quite distasteful in my opinion, and too much of a controlling, unlikable main character in regards to him.

I requested a copy of this book so I could provide an honest review.

Mild spoilers ahead.

There are so many typos. Also details that were added and then totally forgotten. How does one stomp away with a sprained ankle?

It’s so repetitive and juvenile that I could barely keep interest. I get that Pixie is only 18, but she’s so immature. Honestly, her inner monologue makes her come off as an airhead, a total bimbo. I really don’t understand why she has to repeat the same exact thing six times over the course of five paragraphs. It never ends. Each new chapter, she repeats the same mess over and over again.

Also, zero description on what anyone actually looks like. We know Baron’s height and that he’s built. We know nothing about what Pixie looks like or anyone else. Instead of everything being repeated, the author should have focused on important details necessary to this story.

Every single Chapter is labeled Pixie, but we don’t ever get Baron’s POV, so that really doesn’t make any sense.

It’s also really confusing that she called him her r*pist after their first incident. Molestation for sure, but he didn’t r*pe her.

It also flipped out of nowhere. One second she’s literally boohooing in her inner monologue about how awful her step dad is and in the next, she’s pining for him like a b*tch in heat. Suddenly she’s always wanted him and was trying to get his attention.
It makes no sense.

I wouldn’t call this a dark romance. More so a mess that needs serious editing and a rewrite. Everything was so rushed and all over the place.

I would not recommend this book at all.

2.5 stars. I wasn't really into it, and I didn't like much either of the characters. And couldn't connect to them. Or even understand their feelings, how they got from the bulling to the loving. It felt unnatural. There wasn't a transition, it was sudden. One moment he was mean, the next he was all nice and cute. I understand the jealousy, possessiveness, frustration etc, but all those things didn't really excuse his behavior.
Oh, and it wasn't much of a dark romance but mostly bully romance.

Bueno.

Baron is Pixie’s mean stepdad. He calls her a slut for wearing revealing clothing and hanging out with boys. One day Baron’s had enough of her antics and decides to teach Pixie a lesson. He forces her to masturbate with him and promises more to come.

I didn’t think this would actually be dark, but in some ways it was. Baron is pretty assholey and not just in bed. He calls Pixie a slut, whore, and the b-word. I would label the beginning of their relationship as dubious consent, because Pixie doesn’t like what Baron makes her do at first. Then she changes her mind and realizes she does like and want his attention.

So it’s kinda like one of those old bodice rippers with a forced seduction scene because the heroine doesn’t want to first, yet feels pleasure with the hero and changes her mind. Reader beware, I guess.

Safety notes: hero actually married and had a sexual relationship with heroine’s mother. Gross. They are not sexually active at the time of the hero and heroine going at it, and haven’t been for years. But I still wish that hadn’t been the case.

I may reread but won’t keep on my shelf for now just because bully romances aren’t a favorite of mine.

Pushing Boundaries ~

I read the trigger warning at the beginning of the book. It’s no joke. If you think there may be any issue, for the sake of your mental health, skip on by. However, if you want a story that will push your boundaries, and have you wondering where the author is going with this and how far, then strap in for one wild crazy ride. It was so far out there, but well written. So, so over the top, but real close to the end it all made sense, as crazy as that sounds. I’ve read this authors work before, and yes she will push right up to the boundaries, but never, in any book of hers that I’ve read, was it any kind of illegal. This story should make you think, and think hard. But I really enjoyed the ending.

Pretty good

Triggers - does contain a forced sex scene. I was worried I wouldn’t enjoy this book due to some of the reviews I read. But I was intrigued since the book does say it has a happy ending. This is the first book I’ve read from this author and I must say it wasn’t has bad as a thought. The storyline was decent, but I do wish it had more backstory. If you like older dominating men, submissive young female, humiliation, and blackmail then give it a short. I’m glad I did. Definitely for 18+

Omg.

This book is steamy hot.

Normally I don’t really LOVE bully romances but the excerpt tempted me.

I have NO regrets. This book was super rushed so that’s slightly annoying like when she was in the kitchen eating cereal and the phone rang in her nightstand and she went in her drawer and picked it up. That confused me for a few moments lmao but other than that this book was steamy hot.

Pixie and Baron

She doesn't know why she takes so much pleasure in teasing her stepfather by wrestling the most skimpy clothes she can find. There's this thrill she feels every time he erupts, furious and displeased with her disobedience. Until the day he breaks and punishes her by bending her across his legs and spunks her. And her whole world changes. Highly recommended
