First I want to say that If I were judging this book by it’s cover, it would get 10 stars-a lovely cover! Unfortunately I feel it’s more of a three-star book for me. Lots of repetitive dialogue, predictable storyline (girl saves family bakery from big-time developer and falls in love with him) and characters that I had a hard time caring about. I was really bothered by the editing or lack of editing. At one point Derek talks about barely making it through Christmas after his wife dies. A few pages and a year later he says it is his first Christmas without his wife. Another instance talks about him living in a large “greenhouse”. While trying to picture that, I realized she meant a green house. Big difference. Loads of other examples of editing mistakes were very distracting to the reader. I see that I am in the minority with my opinion.

Now the girls are in their 40’s and life is changing…we see life struggles, deaths, divorces, tears and so much more! This book will captivate you from page 1 to the very end.
Don’t miss this book and can’t wait for the others in the series!

I received a copy of this book for free in a recent Goodreads Giveaway. While I enjoyed reading about Martha’s Vineyard, a place I’d love to visit one day, I felt that the overall storyline fell a bit flat. The characters were very one dimensional, and the storyline held no twists and turns. I felt like I knew everything that was about to occur before it happened. The dialogue also didn’t feel character specific. Instead, it felt like one character was speaking for everyone. I also would have liked more detail about the way the land was purchased as it was never fully explained. Did her mother know about it and simply forgot? Or did Derek really do something sneaky and underhanded?

2142 Green Hollow Road: The Sisters of Edgartown Book 1 is by Katie Winter. This series of three books takes us to Edgartown on Martha’s Vineyard. We were introduced to Jennifer and the Frosted Delights Bakery in the Vineyard Sunset series. Now, we get to see how Jennifer and the Frosted Delights Bakery thrive in Edgartown. This series starts out on a note that keeps it in the same high category as the Vineyard series. Katie hasn’t lost her touch. Her characters are so realistic it is as if they were our neighbors. We want to fight alongside them, play alongside them, and love alongside them. We laugh at their antics and cry at their falls. We want to help them out of their problems. The setting on Martha’s Vineyard shows us how the rich and the not-so-rich can live and love side-by-side. The whole atmosphere helps set the scene for love and family and friendship.
The Sisters of Edgartown are a group of six young girls who have known each other forever and have come to view and treat each other like sisters. When something affects one of them it affects them all. This is their final summer before their senior year of high school. They are enjoying every minute of it. The girls are: Jennifer and Michelle (twin daughters of the Chief of Police and cheerleaders); Camille (spends most of her time volunteering at the hospital; Mila (the other cheerleader); Amelia (into the arts); and Olive (the reader). After a day of sunbathing, the girls headed for Frosted Delights before the bonfire that evening. It was the largest bonfire ever and everyone was there. There was a lot of drinking, except for Jennifer who didn’t drink. Michelle noticed something was wrong with her twin and asked her; but Jennifer said they would talk later. Michelle accepted that answer for now. Max, who liked Michelle, took them out on his boat. They went out and then went swimming. Mila kept Michelle from going swimming because she had too much to drink. Jennifer was upset that she hadn’t noticed Michelle was so drunk. When they got back to shore, everyone jumped out and ran for the party; everyone but Mila. Mila kept asking if anyone had seen Michelle. At some point, she had gone into the water and now they couldn’t find her. It wasn’t until much later that the search team found her body. Jennifer’s life changed immediately when she lost her twin. Her family changed due to that accident. Then there was Jennifer’s secret!
Time has come and gone on Green Hollow Road. Jennifer married and divorced her high school sweetheart and raised their son, Nick. Mila and Olive married, had children, and lost their husbands. Camilla became a doctor, and Ameila works for the City. Jennifer’s Dad stepped down as Police chief and now hits the bottle constantly. The only thing the same is Frosty Delights Bakery. This was Martha's Vineyard a women's fiction story about six girls who bonded together like sisters just like their mothers had and they became even closer after one of them was lost at 17. They have all known loss in this book death, divorces, and struggles in their personal relationships. The book focused on Jennifer whose twin sister Michelle is one who fell off the boat and drown in the prologue. I didn't like that Jennifer jerked her boyfriend and eventually husband Joel around by having Michelle pretend to be her and breaking up with him and then getting back together. Is it any wonder their marriage didn't last. But they were still remained friendly and loved their son Nick. Jennifer has to deal with her drunk father, a mother recovering from a stroke and helping her run her bakery while handling her own business and an outsider who purchased the bakery and surrounding property and wants to bulldoze and develop over it, while starting to develop feelings for someone new. There were a lot of emotional moments in the book and some funny ones with her supportive friends. I would put on so much weight if I worked at the Frosted Delights Bakery sampling everything, but it sounds like the employees burn a lot of calories running around waiting on customers.

In this first installment of the Sisters of Edgartown series by Katie Winters, the main focus is on Jennifer Connelly. She lost her twin sister when they were just teens, and the family has had a downward spiral since then. Her relationship with her close friends (Edgartown sisters) from childhood has helped her face the world and its problems. Derek Thatcher, a newcomer to Martha's Vineyard, has plans to build on the site of the bakery owned by Jennifer's mother. Despite the sadness and darkness of events, the power of friendship and memories determines the upward course of the book. I'm looking forward to the stories of the other "sisters".

The story is full of twists and turns that literally suck the air right out of your lungs...and keep you guessing, too! I really loved meeting the sisters of Edgartown. The tragedy that starts the book off, moves forward to present day and we get to know jennifer Conrad and her family. I really loved seeing her and Derek dance around each other and wonder what will happen. I can’t wait to read more about all of the Sisters and hope they all find happiness in future books.

Interesting quick read !
Received this book via Goodreads giveaway. I had never read anything by this author but I definitely will check out her other books. This book is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone read too. The book starts out when the main characters are seventeen and draws you in from the start. The book has a great ending but also ends where you know that is another book coming in the series.

Just finished 2142 Green Hollow RD. This book was fantastic. I loved following Jennifer’s life. She has had more than her share of downs along with some ups. I love the friendship of the sisters. They are each there for each other whenever needed. This story really touched me in many ways. I can relate to some of Jennifer’s hard times. I am so glad that I started this series. I look forward to reading about each of the other sisters. Thank you Katie Winters for such a fantastic story.

I really enjoyed this book with all of the connections between the characters. I have had friends for over 60 years that were formed in school. So nice to read a book that celebrates that type of friendship. Friends who always have your back thru difficult and happy times. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

The Bakery
The Sisters of Edgartown is truly a great book. Once again Katie Winters has introduced us to another family and once again we will sit on the edge of seats as we turn the pages and find ourselves with these girls through their teens to their forties, through marriages, divorces, deaths, babies, and falling in love again.

Wonderfully writtten
All emotions were skillfully played out. Love, loss, rekindled love, friendships , encouragement for each other, family support. All was beautifully written. I'm a new admire of Katie Winters, now. I will actively share this authors books. Thank You, Katie.

Way too much frosting
Or maybe that is the point. Just like most bakeries today this story has way too much frosting. The sisterhood concept is a good base and the characters develop well. The story line was good, but the handling of the father's character was way off base, allowing a flick of the switch turnaround that doesn't fit.

Sisters
I could feel the pain and loss. The loves they had and lost.
It seemed to me that there was. A lot of communication that if they had made sure others knew the worry, pain, and the misplaced anger.
I loved this book. I know I. Will the love this series of Edgerton sister's.

A beautiful read
This is the first book that I have read by Kate Winters and I loved it. It's a great read, full of fun, laughter, heartbreak, and tears but words every page turn. I love the way the story progresses and changes to keep you guessing what's going to happen next. It's a beautiful story. I can't wait to read the next one. Thanks for a great read, Kate Winters

- took time to finish because of school but I really like the first book of the series. It reminds me of pretty little liars because of the sisterhood and slight talk on the death of one of the girls. But the storyline was really solid. Good amount of romance there not too much to be overwhelming and cheesy

Just delight ful.with a little twist
I enjoyed reading this before slipped into sleep. It was an easy read, great characters, and just a blessing. I.loved testify line and Christmas setting made it perfect.

Pretty predictable happily ever after story.
Unbelievably poorly edited. So many misplaced commas!
This is definitely a light read, not much substance.
I may have rated it a 3 1/2 had it not been for the terrible editing.
