I'm not entirely sure if the translation I read was just bad, but the plot seemed very confused. There talk about a drug called Maze and them something about Red Hood (Maisie) that seems to be a drug dealer. A woman who has been killed is the daughter of a Diet member who seeks to persecute drug users, but then she is killed and she also seems to be a drug user. Then there's a former case where kids were kidnaped and killed and the detective that had to kill his own partner and the case was never solved and was buried. Then the other police detective who is a double agent for both the special investigation unit and the yakuza. The two detectives confusing initial meeting. The televised torture sequence, and the lead Inspector's reaction to his kidnaped daughter. As translated, the story doesn't make much sense at all. The art is typical Keri Kusabi and racy. Read for the porn, not the story.

Vu l'épaisseur et le résumé, je m'attendais à quelque chose d'un peu plus abouti qu'un BL classique, et je n'ai pas été déçue ! C'est une enquête, bien menée et intéressante pour un BL, mais sans message intéressant derrière, malheureusement. Il y a des raccourcis classiques de police spéciale mais bon, osef de ça. C'est rigolo.

Le vrai intérêt est l'évolution du personnage principal. (Au final, l'enquête sert à son évolution). Est ce que sa manière de progresser dans sa guérison de ses traumas est saine ? Non, pas vraiment. Mais elle reste touchante, et bien faite. La scène où Kairi fait admettre à Tetsuo ce qui le bouffe et le tient dans ses bras pendant qu'il pleure ? I'm here for this shit.

La relation entre les deux personnages principaux est pas particulièrement saine et en même temps, on peut dire qu'ils se sont trouvés, et qu'ils se comprennent, ça leur convient, et c'est le principal. Ils ont un happy end bien à eux, et franchement la scène du parc est d'une tendresse incroyable.

Voir des personnages remplis de traumas et me dire "oui, je pense que ça va aller pour eux, maintenant", c'est d'une douceur ! <3

Another Kusabi Keri work ft. her characters being abrasive in their relationship... plus her amazing smut drawing ability ((—it's kusabi keri y'all, her smut, with no doubt, always great and nicely drawn)). It's okay tho, I like it very much. Kairi was mad hot 🌶🥵

For a stand-alone, the plot was pretty neat and packed. It's gripping and enticing until the very end. Kairi was really well-written, I love his characterization and character design.

Anyways, let me say it loud and clear:

Me ha encantado de principio a fin. Una historia llena de misterio, un caso policial y mucho sexo y tensión sexual. Al contrario de lo que me suele pasar con las novelas policíacas, que me aburren bastante, me chiflan los mangas bl con asesinatos, asesinos en serie y policías buenorros que, mientras investigan, se van a la cama. Y menudo smut que tiene este!!!! Además que la edición francesa de Hana es son censura y una delicia.
La sensei dice en el epílogo que le gustaría hacer otra historia con Tetsuo y Kairi y así contarnos su pasado. Espero que lo haga.

La traducción que leí fue bastante mala y confusa pero así y todo, el plot es medio meh. Me costó seguirle el hilo y todo el contexto lo sentí como excusa y relleno para que no sean todos paneles de s*x*. No lo disfruté para nada, considerando que tenía policías, doble agentes, yakuzas y asesinatos.

Probably one of Keri Kusabi's best work next to her Omegaverse series, Kurui Naku nowa Boku no Ban / Beta / Re. Kusabi sensei is currently working on a sequel to Memento Scarlet, with makes me really happy. Interesting deeper story, drama, great action, and smut. Highly recommend!!

If the translation was a bit better, I could have given this four stars, but there were moments where the translation just made the scenes confusing.

However, this had a lot of potential. The plot was interesting and kept me invested.

I liked the mystery, even tho I knew who was the culprit since their 1st appearance.
The 2 mc's relationship is interesting as well
