Rooftop Garden Cozy Mysteries #7

Murder Steals the Show

Rate this book
All that glitters…
Might lead to murder.

It’s spring in the cozy little town of Blue Valley, Tennessee, and that means it’s time once again for the return of the Nottingham Medieval Faire. This year, the faire is under new ownership, and is better than ever, with a fantasy vibe that features fairies and trolls, dragons and wizards, goblins and imps galore.

The Faire isn’t the only exciting thing happening in town this spring. A famous jeweled necklace, known as the Scarlet Lady, is making a stop at the Blue Valley Heritage Museum. The necklace—steeped in local history and lore—boasts a huge white diamond set in rubies. The whole town is abuzz and is waiting breathlessly to view the necklace, but the same day it arrives, it disappears.
A body is found near the museum, and Alice and her friends find themselves wondering if the murder and the robbery are connected. When Little John confesses that he’s been noticing a string of thefts in other towns the faire has visited—and with Luke and Ben out of town on business—it’ll be up to Alice, Owen, and Franny to find out if someone connected with the faire is a thief…and a murderer.

I grabbed this book as soon as it appeared on Amazon because I couldn't wait to get back to Blue Valley, TN and visit with Alice, Owen, Franny, Ben and Luke. Unfortunately Ben and Luke had to go out of town to help a neighboring community so Alice, Owen and Franny stepped up when the worst happened.

A well-crafted plot that kept me turning the pages, several suspects for both murder and theft and a touch of romance makes this a very enjoyable afternoon read. I hope there will be another visit to Blue Valley soon.

Yay! This was a good one. The renn faire is in town and there is a jewel thief…or two…or three lurking around. Alice and her entourage are on the case to help assist Officer Dewey capture the crook and killer. Yep, a murder occurred during the jewel heist. Captain Ben and Detective Luke are out of town, so Dewey is in charge.

Will Alice be able to help put the thief and murderer behind bars or will the person(s) get away?

We have a new person in town who has possibly fallen in love with a local. Is he the killer though? I hope not!

Luke only appears in the ending of this read, but he makes a big splash that changes the entire story and future reads in this series.

Next is book 8 “Murder Turns the Page”.

With Ben and Franny’s pregnancy flying by Ben and Luke have to go out of town, leaving Alice, Franny and Owen to solve a murder without their help. Not only is this a fun book, but the ending is the best!

Great book!!!!

When the Nottingham Faire comes back to Blue Valley it has new owners and managers.
Alice, Franny and Owen are participating in the Faire.
The Museum has a new exhibit that is very expensive, but with no security system.
Ben and Luke has been called away in the next town up in the Mountains ans that's when things start going wrong quickly and badly.
Deputy Dewey is over his head, until Alice, Franny and Owen pitch in and help.
When they started digging for information boy did they find out some very interesting stuff about certain people in town.
There turns out to be robbery, murder, jealousy, deception and revenge.
With all the Faire people in town there was a lot of suspects to ask questions to. What the three had found out was surprising .
You have to read to find out!!

I love this series! There is always lots going on within the stories and random facts about whatever the story deals with are thrown in, making for interesting reading. The mystery was well plotted and the protagonists characters have depth with personalities well suited to their professions and to being amateur detectives.

It's that time of year again when the whole town transforms with the annual medieval fairs. There's also a big exhibit at the local museum that includes a fabulously expensive piece of jewelry. Before the faire has even begun the jewelry is stolen and a new member of the community is killed. With Luke and Ben out of town, Alice, Owen, and a very pregnant Fannie must help the towns police force to bring the criminal to justice.

Loved the Faire when I first read it in the series the first time, and really loved it this time!

I have to say this book definitely kept me thinking about who could have done what within the pages. I was trying to pick through and sort out who could have couldn't have done anything. I definitely enjoyed this book more than the previous.

I seem to be seeing a trend. The more I get through the series the more I am loving these books. I was so beyond excited when we got to see more of Franny pregnant, although I wish there wasn't such a huge time jump between books.

I kind of squealed when other things happened toward the end and I am so beyond excited to see what happens in the future books!!!

We have now made it another year in Blue Valley and with summer comes the
Nottingham Midieval Faire again. This time it's all new, with great new features.
They also get a famous jeweled necklace loaned to the museum that will be
on display throughout the festival. However, before they can get in to view it
the necklace disappears and a dead body is found. Luke and Ben are out of town
helping out the police department in a nearby town and can't make it back
due to an mud slide. Alice and her friends are left to solve this one before
the Faire performers all leave town and the killer gets away.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Blue Valley is such a fun place to take a book escape to, and the Nottingham Faire was back in town under different management but familiar faces. With Luke and Ben out of town, Alice and her pals felt an extra need to help Officer Dewey with the latest murder and jewelry theft from the museum.

Thanks to some clever sleuthing, the friends got their perp again-after a nail biting encounter with the killer. Everyone played some type of role in taking down the guilty party, and there was a very sweet surprise at the end.

The Nottingham Medieval Faire is back in Blue Valley. This time in addition to a murder, there has been a robbery at the museum. With Ben and Luke out of town, Dewey needs all the help he can get from Alice, Franny, and Owen. I thought the culprits were pretty obvious but that didn't detract from my enjoyment of the book. Glad Luke finally proposed to Alice. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Always wonderful to catch up with Alice, Owen, and Franny. It was an enjoyable read with a great mystery. Ben and Luke were only in the margins of this story and I did miss their greater presence, mainly because I thoroughly enjoy the relationships of Ben and Franny and Luke and Alice. A terrific read and I'm already looking forward to the next.

It is faire time and it is under new management. Things get out of hand when a body is found near the museum as a famed necklace goes on display but soon disappears the same day. Is it coincidental or is it?

Watch as the rooftop gang uncovers the truth as Luke and Ben are out of town. A fun quick cozy read.

This series gets better and better. The faire is coming to town and so is a very expensive necklace. Things start to go wrong as soon as Luke and Ben leave town. Alice and the gang are out to help Dewey find the culprit before too much is of the faire is disrupted and before Ben and Luke get home.

I usually enjoy the books in this series because I really like the characters but I just couldn’t get past the author having a major museum loan a piece of jewelry worth millions to a small museum that basically has no security.

Surely you jest!

Another fine book in the series. The headline refers there to there being a Court Jester in the book! A well-written mystery. Lots of laughs. Lots of romance. And of course of murder! Kept me guessing right till the end! And a nice surprise at the end!

Fabulous

I loved every minute. I just couldn't quite put my finger on who the murderer was until close to the end. I am glad it wasn't who I thought it was.

A very readable cozy mystery series set in Blue Valley, Tennessee with a group of friends who have ro grey involved in solving murders which happen in the small town.

The books are easily read in a couple of hours and are best read in order of publication to preserve continuity of the characters and series.
