Voxeran Fated Mates #3

Her Alien Beast

Rate this book
Axen fights like a beast. He terrifies me a little. But maybe he’s exactly what I need.

As a doctor, I’m used to thinking logically and staying calm even in intense circumstances, so I thought I was adjusting pretty well to life on Nuthora.

Then the universe threw another curveball at me.

Not only am I stuck on a prison planet with a bunch of blue-skinned aliens… but I’m pregnant.

When the mate bond flares between Axen and me, it’s more than I can handle. I want to get off this crazy ride and go back to a planet where things made sense, where my heart wasn’t fighting with my head, and where most of the wildlife didn’t want to kill me.

But there’s no going back.

This is the path fate has carved out for me, and despite my fears about the bond, Axen is determined to prove he’ll be a good mate.

Can this brutal alien warrior truly be my perfect match?

Her Alien Beast is a full-length standalone sci-fi romance featuring blue-skinned alien warriors, a heroine whose life is turned upside down, and a growly, protective hero.

If you like sexy aliens, steamy romance, and thrilling adventure, you’ll love this series. No cheating, no cliffhanger, and a happily ever after guaranteed!

Note: each book in the series can be read as a standalone, but for maximum enjoyment, it’s recommended that the series be read in order.

I love reading romance, baking (well... eating) cookies, and binge-watching sci fi shows with my husband. I'm a sucker for a dirty talking alpha with a heart of gold, and I write stories about fierce aliens and the strong Earth women they fall in love with.

Short on story!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Romance: 💙💚🖤
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘
World building: 🌎🌍🌏
Character development: 😚😌😉

The heroine: Elizabeth - she is a doctor who volunteered to go on a mission to space to make first contact with alien life. After the ship she was on crash landed on an alien prison planet, she finds that the mission was actually to take a bunch of women abducted from Earth and give them to an alien race in exchange for technology.

The Hero: Axen - a Voxeran warrior who along with his prince and a bunch of others were exiled to the prison planet after a failed coup attempt against the princes uncle who has taken over the kingdom. They have rescued the women and brought them from the wreck back to their compound.

The Story: When the Voxeran village is attacked by a group of rogue prisoners, Axen fights like a beast and saves Elizabeth from getting kidnapped. He is hurt in the battle and Elizabeth is the only doctor, so is responsible for keeping him alive. They find that they are fated mates, but some things from her past come between them.

This book was told in dual points of view and narrated in dual narration where the male narrator does the chapters in Axen’s point of view and the female narrator does the chapters in Elizabeth’s point of view. Cat Auden and C.J. Grey did the narration and both of them had great voices for the characters. Though I do like Duet narration better than dual narration, where the male does all the male voices and the female does all the female voices.

The story in this one was a bit lacking and after the last two books which were much more like adventures, I was a bit disappointed in this one. There wasn’t much going on except inside Elizabeth’s head. She has a lot of inner turmoil about the way she grew up and about something that happened before she left earth and much of the book was about this.

I really enjoyed this read. Axen is a fierce and deadly yet gentle giant. I love how he loves on his Elizabeth, and how he took on and accepted her personal set of circumstances as his own. The true measure of an honorable male indeed.

This one was another intense read, that mainly leads you into what will happen in the next book, but Elizabeth and Axen had their own brand of intense fear as well. I was really scared for them for a minute.

This one only gets 4 stars, because while I like Elizabeth well enough, I don't feel she was the perfect match for a male like Axen. Though they had some sweet and even hot moments, their coupling overall seemed lacking of something for some reason.

But the overall story I did love.

Based on books 1-3, I would recommend this series.

This was a miss for me. Axen started out as such a badass character, and then as soon as he discovered the mate bond, he lost his whole personality. And Elizabeth's reasons for denying him felt over-dramatized. And I just can't get into the whole "pregnant with another man's child" thing. Nope. Not sexy.

Also it was so weird that Gemma and Kzuri got taken, and then everyone just forgot all about them? Like there were no rescues planned or even like a time to mourn if they weren't able to go after them? Everyone just went on with their lives happily and I found that a little bit weird.

Still, 3 stars because I'm hyped on this series, and I'm definitely reading the next one.

Overview: Another cracky good SFR series, it seems to contain the Presley Hall formula - huge, protective heroes who love wearing loincloths and nothing else. The Voxerans were banished to a prison planet called Nuthora and have lived there for 5 years when they see a spaceship crash and, thinking that they can salvage the ship for parts, head towards one of the crash sites. Unbeknownst to them, two human women have just found out that their world leaders basically sold them off to alien warlords as sex slaves in return for alien tech. Fantastic. When the ship they're on accidentally crashes on Nuthora, they also found out that there's a whole bunch of other women on the ship with them. The fight for survival begins, but along the way, you guessed it, we got some fated mate situations happening.

All in all, I like this series alot more than the previous series I'd read by Ms. Hall, the Kalixian Warriors. The premise of being able to reject the mate bond is still in effect, but I think the storytelling here is better and there's much more character development on the way to that HEA. There's also a cohesive overarching storyline that snaps into place and keeps the reader turning that page to find out if they succeed in their plans. I liked alot more fo the books here. If you're into SFR where the romance is central, then I'd recommend this. Now onto the individual books:

Book 1: Her Alien Prince (Charlotte and Droth) - solid start to the series, romance was right blend of insta and built up love. May have issues for those who would struggle with married heroine. Husband basically helped her get on this flight/no love, and there's no way she's going back, so I'm counting that as his fault, it didn't bother me. 4 stars
Book 2: Her Alien Savior (Sadie and Jaro) - I liked the couple, no external complications, all character driven. Deals with anxiety issues and survivalist action. 4 stars.
Book 3: Her Alien Beast (Elizabeth and Axen) - tender, protective hero with pregnant heroine. Probably messiest of the books with a prickly heroine but I still enjoyed it. 4 stars

**2.4/5 stars**

The women are finally settled in the Voxeran camp and they are slowly familiarizing themselves with their new home. When a company of raiders invade the camp, the Voxerans quickly jump into action and defend the women as much as they can; one of them, Axen gets gravely injured while protecting Elizabeth. While she helps him recover, Axen realizes that Elizabeth is his mate but she refuses him right away, for a few reasons, but one specifically worries her. She is convinced that he wouldn't want her if he knew the truth and tries to keep him at arm's length, but will she be able to resist the fated mates pull?

So I remember attempting to read this book a few years ago, but I DNF'd it when I learned what was going on with Elizabeth. She . And I guess I wasn't in the mood for that when I dropped reading this book. But now that I picked it up again and fully read it, I didn't hate the idea so much. But other things annoyed me more.

The first one was the main character Elizabeth who just couldn't make up her mind about what she wanted. Her thoughts were redundant, just repeating her situation, her reason and what she assumed Axen would do. For being a doctor, I feel like she didn't have control over her emotions and she easily let herself fall in a tornado of worries. In the previous books, she was always portrayed as a good leader and pragmatic. But here? She was a mess.

As for Axen he started out very promising. But his personality slowly faded as the story went on. I liked that he was protective and even happened to be jealous once, which was cute but I don't know. He wasn't all that interesting overall. Their chemistry wasn't bad but the whole story, the push and pull didn't really suit my taste.

No pain in my life has ever come close to this—the terrible ache of finally finding my mate, only to see her recoil from me and flee from our bond as though disgusted by me.-Axen

Another thing that bothered me was the fact that when the raid happened at the start, two people were kidnapped from the settlement (Kzuri and Gemma) and yet, no search party was sent to retrieve them? Sure the story is supposed to focus on Elizabeth and Axen but you'd think that people around the camp would worry about the people missing. Seemed like they just forgot about them. The author completely disregarded/minimized what happened and it bothered me.

The only reasons this has a higher score (not by much) than Her Alien Prince is because they weren't driven by instalust. There was a little bit of development and getting to know each other. Like I said, I know the fated mates bond can be powerful, but I don't understand how humans would feel it as strongly as those aliens who are born to feel the bond in their lifetime. A little bit of push back from the human side is always more interesting and understandable. But that's just my preference. Love > Lust

I believe this series has a main plot that will chronologically develop with each installment, so you probably want to read them all in order.

I read this as part of a box set that I received an ARC of in exchange for an honest review.
As a doctor Elizabeth Banfield should have been more careful than to trust a condom. She should have had backup prophylactics for preventing pregnancy. Especially when facing a trip into space for an unknown amount of time. Oh well. And to top it all off she has to deal with an alien claiming to be her mate on an alien planet full of criminals and monsters. How will he accept another man's child? Her own stepfather treated her like an extra limb. The last part of the story contains a rather dangerous altercation that threatens the lives of Elizabeth and Axen and adds some definite excitement to the story.
I wish that there had been more interactions between the characters, criminals, and monsters in this book and less of the smexy parts but this is why people read these stories. It just gets to be a bit much when reading 3 books of this stuff back to back.

I loved Elizabeth and Axen! Their story was adorable. And I'm glad Axen reacted the way he did to Elizabeth's secret

I can't wait to see how Gemma and Kzuri survive being taken by the rogue aliens.

This whole thing was just kinda awkward in it's awkwardness. I mean, I enjoyed it, but... it takes forever for them to actually get together and even then you wonder what they actually see in eachother. I dunno... cute and an easy read, but not quite one I'd recommend.

Elizabeth Banfield and Axen’s story details the fear, passion, and ultimate love of the human doctor and the alien Voxeran warrior who are both trapped on a hostile planet for criminals. To compound the danger, Elizabeth is pregnant, and it’s not Axen’s baby. They continue the battle for survival against vicious planetary animals, evil alien felons, and hazardous plants. Just the day-to-day living is a threatening situation as they protect themselves and others while trying to stay healthy. When the community is attacked by other aliens, Axen is wounded, and most of the book is about him recovering and her taking care of his injuries while fighting the bond that pulls her toward him. She is not used to anyone loving her because her parents never did, and knowing that she is pregnant by another man, Elizabeth feels that Axen probably won’t love her either. However, Voxeran culture is more accepting of babies fathered by other people; they believe all life is precious, and Axen not only professes his love for Elizabeth, but for her baby as well. Just when everything seems to be working out for the two of them once all the secrets are known, Elizabeth is attacked by a giant, poisonous creature, and Axen must kill it to get the tongues that secrete the anti-venom. Yes, he is wounded too and almost dies. Elizabeth, however, gets him close enough to the settlement that the rest of the Voxerans are able to help. Though the trope is predictable, the story is a sweet afternoon read, and booklovers who are into the alien/human couples will like Hall’s story.

Book three of this series by Presley Hall finally delves into the story of Elizabeth, an important supporting character in Her Alien Prince.

I gave this book only two stars because the "flavor" of the series changes from simple alien romance to alien breeding kink romance during this story. I personally do enjoy the breeding kink trope but not when it is tossed in after the feeling of the series was already set with two prior books like this one was.

Elizabeth was not the most believable or likeable character either. I have never met a doctor as lacking in confidence as Elizabeth. Doctors, especially doctors who can make it into a NASA like program, have worked so hard and for so long that their confidence has to be at the top of the charts to ensure a successful mission.

I will not be continuing this series.

I was disappointed

Gave it 2 stars initially, dropped to 1 on a re-read.
He is a big, sad himbo (which I adore) and she was kinda annoying. He deserved a better story.

Spoiler,

I was rooting for the snake bite aborto.

I was in a bit of feeling invested, having read the first two of this series because I enjoyed them a lot, especially the second one. Rated them high. So I moved forward to the next.

A bit disappointed though. I don't know, I wasn't so much interested in reading Elizabeth's book, from the onset maybe because even from the beginning of the series, I find her uninteresting as a woman, who'd fit for a love story of her own.

I also didn't like Raina actually, another woman survivor who unfortunately, I'd have to read to complete the series. This one annoyed me a lot from the first book, acting tough and in control, being on an alien deadly planet. Don't get me wrong. I like my heroines a bit feisty, strong, independent and brave, especially when facing a jerk hero, yet reasonable and not stupid. There was Charlotte, the heroine of the first book, already attesting to the goodness and kindness of the Voxerans. The fact she was still alive and returned for them. Here was this Raina who was negating the obvious.

Anyway, I'm veering off from Elizabeth the heroine. Maybe I was judging a fictional character or I was stereotyping lol. I've met a lot of women doctors in my life, even my two relatives are, and they're both tough and far from sweet but yes dependable😛. I'm not generalizing guys okay. Elizabeth was smart and a good doctor yes, even a good person and a leader to the women survivors of the space craft, yet I find her flat and unappealing in my head. So matter of fact, being a woman of science, being a doctor, her personality suited her. Interested mostly in studying some facts, dynamics etc. concerning life on the deadly planet they were on. So I didn't see her in a romantic setting or any romantic scene. It would be clinical and boring if ever for me.

So I wasn't that far off in my reservations, if I was to read Elizabeth's story, after finishing the book. This bored me a bit. Coming from a high, reading the second book, this paled in comparison. I got annoyed a bit with Elizabeth, getting out from characterization, being a doctor who was supposed to be in control of herself and any situation. In here, she was a mess. 'Though I understood her predicament. I was only interested in Axen anyway the alien hero, who also got out a bit of character, but he saved the book for me. Such a sweet beast of an alien😛. I understood the effects of the mating bond, making him a softie. Only to his heroine. He was still a fierce beast despite wounded when angry.

Actually this was one reason why I fell in love with these alien men of this author. They were kick-ass, alpha brave muscled aliens, ready to face monstrous jungle beasts and hardened alien criminals, but when it came to their heroines, they were putties😛. 'Loved them. Their stories were written in simple, easy flowing heartwarming words yet passionate, deep and intense.

Also, I liked the series and I'm a new fan of the author, so I'm pushing ahead. I also felt the need to read all books in the series, though I'm sure some would be a chore, since I didn't want to miss anything. Each story is some kind of a continuation, 'though could be a standalone, (didn't seem so to me), but best to read in order. Each couple's love story yes, but the main plot no. Each book is needed it seemed, to be able to finish one whole big plot, culminating into a satisfying ending in the final book of the series. This I observed, as I went over the blurbs and reviews of the other books in the series.

Unfortunately this book didn't engage me much, well not until the last chapters. I'll give it to this author when some good action scenes took my waning interest to some level. However, I didn't like some dream sequences of Axen, one while in his sick bed having been injured during battle, making him realize the mating bond, which was a whole chapter and another in the last chapters. Dreams are always too boring for me in books, because I know they're not really taking place in actual scenes. To think I'm reading already some fictionalized story, then there'd be dreams to make the whole thing more unreal. Added to the pregnancy thing. Oh well.

Nevertheless, because I still love the writing style and the series, I'll be looking forward to more books and couples.

Elizabeth was the team doctor for the crew of their spaceship. Her life has taken a drastic turn in a short amount of time; she’s part of a team that is to make contact with aliens, she’s crash landed on a prison planet, she has survived 2 attacks by another warring tribe and a sexy warrior, Axen, who tells her that she is his mate. On top of all that, she finds out she’s pregnant from a one night stand she had the night before her departure.

On the whole, I did enjoy reading this couple’s story. While I was a bit irritated with Elizabeth for giving Axen mixed signals when she told him that she couldn’t be his mate, I could understand where she was coming from. She had a messed up childhood herself and wasn’t about to expose her baby to the type of treatment she received at the hands of her step father (no molesting, she was just unwanted and ignored). But our Voxeran warrior proved how honorable these guys are and I have to say, my heart melted page after page reading about how happy and in love he was. It was very satisfying.

Can’t wait for the next story! I highly recommend this book, and the series, to any fan of this genre of romance books.

It just keeps getting better!!!!

This series just keeps getting better and better. I was so surprised and amazed that other favorite Earth doctor is pregnant and didn't figure it out until now. Wow I will be the first to say I didn't see this coming! Lol. And she's pregnant by a former one night last fling on Earth! What a wonderful twist. So immediately I'm hooked and didn't stop reading until I finished it. Our sweet, caring and brave Dr. has been the "leader" among the ladies that landed on the prison planet and has been the glue that holds them all together. So when she starts feeling the early symptoms of pregnancy and the attraction to Axen she's in true turmoil. Axen has got to be one of the best alien warriors in the group. He is immediately aware that Elizabeth is his true mate and cant understand her refusal to admit to being his. Gotta say that I felt his hurt and rejection right along with him. But the chemistry is off the charts and soon the two are in a strong, heated and intense journey to see how they will grow to love each other. This is an amazing and interesting plot to the story of the struggles that our couples and warriors are dealing with plus plenty of action to satisfy all the SFR readers out there. I love that the author keeps coming up with new ideas and I admire her so much for continuing to grow the story and still make each one unique. You will love the romance and sexy times as much as I have and I highly recommend this entire series. Ms. Hall never disappoints. It's going to be interesting to see how our couple cope on this planet with a new born human child. But the love this couple share is awesome. And I have no doubts that they will succeed in spite of the bad guys. Loved this so much

Elizabeth is a doctor and one of the women who crash landed on the prison planet. She feels like she isn't contributing enough to the Voxeran village or to the girls. She actually signed up for this expedition a!omg with Charlotte from the first book. Neither one has any knowledge that they were really being sold to aliens in return for advanced technology. She admires the warriors that have taken them I'm and protected them but until recently she's been totally focused on finding her place within the group. Until one day with Charlotte she sees Axen training. As she watched him the air!d taxes around her and only the fierce beast of a warrior remains. She loves every second of it until she faints. Axen is one of the best warriors of the whole Voxeran tribe when ever be fights he puts his all into in he allows his inner beast to take hold and all enemies should quake when he unleashes his wrath. When he notices Elizabeth the human women looking at him he feels a spark ignite inside him. When he sees her faint his beast takes over and get to her before she can hit the ground. Seeing her like this sets off every protective instinct he has ever had. When the village is under attack that's when As an realizes Elizabeth is his bonded mate. At the same time Elizabeth finds out something that can tee her life forever. Her heart belongs to her warrior but her fear is getting in the way. This is a beautiful story of !love, acceptance , and the trails this could will face together to win their happily ever after! Great read totally recommend!💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

Elizabeth is a doctor. She and Charlotte became friends when the Foreigner II took off. Now the Foreigner II has crashed and the government secrets or out in the open. Several weeks have gone by since they crashed on the alien Prison Planet.
Axen is one of the Voxeran's put on this prison planet for following Droth the exiled prince, banished to Nuthora after starting a rebellion against his tyrant uncle.
What a surprise never would have thought about it. Both Elizabeth and Charlotte were on the diplomatic voyage to make first contact. They became fast friends during take-off. But during the voyage, Elizabeth found some unbelievable evidence, while showing it to Charlotte the Foreigner II crashes on an alien prison planet. After Charlotte is taken by a large bird Elizabeth and the woman awakened from the stasis pods start to protect the Foreigner II as best as they can.
I read a lot of books. Some I like some I love. When I read a series I normally write the review before I go to the next book in the series. But when I come upon a series that I can't for whatever reason put down I read (and forget) to the end of the series. This is one of those series. The aliens, to the planet, to everything in between just pulled me in and would not let me go, so now I'm playing back up.
Each book in this series can be read as a standalone, but for maximum enjoyment, it’s recommended that you read the series in order.

Great love story, exhausting everything else

Axen, the mighty warrior, and Elizabeth, the doctor, find themselves thrown together in the Voraxen village. After he saves her from being taken when the village is attacked, she stitches him up. She’s been attracted to him for awhile, but she realizes something after stitching him up. She’s pregnant for some nameless guy back on earth. When Axen finally wakes up after be8ng unconscious for several days and announces their mates, Elizabeth is t happy with that news. Axen isn’t happy either, when she refuses the honor.

The two dance around each other for awhile until she finally comes clean and she realizes, finally, that these Voraxen men are truly men of honor and not the same as those she dealt with on Earth.

There’s quite a bit more story to go at this point...like maybe half or more of the book. While I enjoyed the book and have enjoyed the series to date, it seems to have fallen into a bit of a rut with the big bad alien monsters and the bad plants, anything and everything out to get them. I realize that a prison planet is likely to be just that way, but it would be nice to see something good, other than sex and a mate, happen to these people on this planet. (and I realize that sex and a mate are fantastic things to find, but all and all, you’ve got to be alive, not wondering what’s going to kill you constantly, have the knowledge that you know where your next meal will come from, etc., also.)

I guess my point is to give these people a break.

Next in the series - Highly recommend if you enjoy alien PNRs

Written for mature readers only (18+ years old) due to subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, steamy intimate scenes and violence.

This is the third story in the Voxeran Fated Mates series and is focused on Elizabeth, a human female doctor, and Axen, a Voxeran warrior. Elizabeth was part of a mission to supposedly make first contact with aliens that crashed on the prison planet inhabited by the Voxerans and other alien races comprised of mainly criminals. Axen is there because he was exiled from his home planet of Vox after supporting the rightful Prince / King (first story in the series).

While this could probably be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend it be read in series order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers. This story begins immediately after the end of the others, with reoccurring characters and an overall storyline arc.

The story universe becomes even more developed during this story and more animals, planets, etc. are introduced to support the storyline and characters. This really added a lot of depth to the series and made it even easier to become immersed into the story.

'Her Alien Beast' tells the story of Elizabeth and Axen. For scientific reasons, Elizabeth is very interested in the mate bond that has already formed between Charlotte & Droth and Sadie & Jaro. But she would rather not experience the mate bond herself. But suddenly the events come thick and fast: A completely unexpected surprise awaits Elizabeth and then Axen, the strongest warrior in the village, opens up to her to be her fated mate.
I was very fond of Elizabeth and Axen as characters and as a couple.
I have to admit that I suffered with Axen when he confessed to Elizabeth that he was her fated mate and she turned him down. I felt really sorry for him. I have to say that the inner turmoil and the split feelings of the two are described and presented very well and credibly.
Still, I found the first two books in the series a bit better, maybe because there was simply more speed and tension in the stories. That's why I would give this book 4.5 stars, simply because I thought the other books were even better.
I really like the book series so far and I'm already looking forward to the next book and thus to Gemma and Kzuri's story.

Voxeran Axen fights like a beast which frightens Elizabeth a little. She was a doctor on Earth and so she is used to being logical and calm but is currently going through the adjustment to life on Nuthora. Then she is completely thrown off her normal mode when she discovers that she is pregnant. So when the mate bond flares between Elizabeth and Axen it is more than her brain can handle at some time. There is no leaving the prison planet and so she has to go with fate - Axen is determined to prove to her that he will be a good mate but will the brutal warrior accept her and her unborn child?

I enjoyed this story which contrasted the brutality of life on the prison planet and the gentleness of a healer who found herself having to live with it daily. I did find Elizabeth's concern about talking to people strange - I know she was very independent but I would have thought she would have wanted to find out more as that would have appealed to her intellect. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

The doctor and the warrior

Elizabeth is one of the survivors from Earth that survived a crash landing on an alien planet. She is a doctor and was on a mission to make first encounters with other alien lifeforms. Now living in the Voxeran village she does all she can to feel like she’s making a difference. Axen is a warrior living on the prison planet of Nothura when he realizes that Elizabeth is his fated mate. Elizabeth has seen the other women find their fated mates, but denies it for herself because she holds a secret. A secret that may ruin any chance of love she may find with Axen.

I like the action in this book: warriors fighting to protect their village and a big giant snake monster against an angry warrior. That being said, all the action lands Axen flat on his back for a large portion of the novel. Looking to the future this man cannot possibly last into old age.

As usual Ms. Hall ends the book with an epilogue that always lets you know the next two characters that will appear in the next book.

Her Alien Beast by Presley Hall is a captivating story about Elizabeth, a human doctor and Axen , a fierce Vorexan warrior, and is written in dual POV. The passion between Elizabeth and Axen is all consuming, the characters and their reactions are realistic, which makes them even more appealing. Elizabeth is strong, compassionate and determined to help in any way she can, while Axen is protective, caring, understanding, thoughtful and so sweet that is impossible not to fall in love with him! In this book I found everything I was looking for, drama (but not too depressing), love, passion, action and of course an alien gentle giant with a lot of love to give.

Elizabeth had volunteered to be the doctor aboard what is supposed to be a first voyage for the Earth and the US, a space voyage to find aliens and make allies.

Little did she know that the ships hold was full of women in stasis pods, women to be sold or traded for military materials. She was wandering about the ship when she found the hold full of pods of women, just minutes before a wormhole opened up in front of the ship and sucked them through. The wormhole dumped them out on top of a planet, too close to escape, the ship broken by the wormhole and the asteroid ring around the planet both, makes a very hard landing in multiple pieces. There will be no rescue, no fixing this ship, only doing what they can for themselves and the women in the pods. There is a happy ending, and new beginnings, and they meet more than one kind of alien, these two dozen female survivors on a new, harsh, planet.

Mate rejection due to mild childhood trauma makes hella more sense.
HEA. Standalone or In Series Order. Epilogue teaser for next couple.
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ ½ 3.5/5: Romance with several explicit sex scenes, with generally milder language.
Tropes: Doctor Patient, Virgin Hero, Fated Mates, Rejected Mate, Alpha Male, Humanoid Aliens
Setting: Primitive settlement alien planet
Subplots beyond the main & romantic plotlines: The comparatively shorter length best lends to focusing on moving the couple and the world story along.
Character Elizabeth: Analytical, Driven, Confident, Doctor
Character Axen: Predatory, Powerful, Selfless, Exiled Warrior
Best Rimworld Gameplay: Raiders have decided to kidnap who they can and leave.

Note: I provide full star ratings for books I complete, aiming to accentuate their strengths while refraining from negative critiques.

This one is my favorite so far. So here we have Elizabeth and Axen's story. She is attracted to Axen and vice versa. She is wanting to be useful and learn more about the planet and what can heal the vox as well as humans. However, she keeps getting sick and has no idea as to why until it hits her like a freight train. So now she backs off and tries to limit her time around Axen. Now he is a fierce warrior and when he fights its like he has something that takes his ferocity to the next level. Then something happens and its a matter of life and death. Axen is not going to let anything happen to Elizabeth. She will do what she can to save him. Now what will happen when he finds out her little secret? Will she continue to push him away. Well I can say this book is full of some good stuff and is a great add to the series. So I guess you can say the she gets a happily ever after.
