With the Exhibition Matches out of the way, I’ve won for myself a sponsor. The enigmatic and likely certifiably crazy Igor Chaosbane has drawn runes into my frat house’s dungeon. Now that’s out of the way, we can really get to training for the War Mage Games.
And don’t think I’ve forgotten about my other training methods. There’s a fetching potions tutor who’s got me wondering just what Infernal magic can do…
This continues to be one of the most disappointing series I've read within this genre. Unlike most of the other series I've tried, I still think this one actually has quite a lot of potential within the world it has built. It feels like more than a passing thought was put into developing it. It's not just a lazy rip-off of Harry Potter, like Scholomance is. But practically everything else about the books drag it down. I hate the main character, Justin. He's a gigantic shithead. The author writes about these fraternity brothers acting like the most stereotypical douchebro types you can imagine... but it's not written with a hint of satire. I think the author legitimately thinks that type of person is cool. It's rather sad.
The plot is nothing special. It does the thing where it sets up a situation but then doesn't bother to write a believable solution/conclusion to the situation, and instead forces an ending to the situation that doesn't really make logical sense, because they want to keep moving forward. But other than that, I don't have a whole lot to say about it. Nothing special, but nothing egregiously bad, either. Just meh. But I will say that the sex scenes are too rushed for my tastes. It's not like they're overly frequent, so skipping through them as fast as they do is lame.
I'll probably keep reading this series eventually. I think I just have to accept that this author will always be slightly off the mark for me. The problem is that he's close enough to it, that it becomes a shame.
Frat test flight, running into the nunnery, just as they are about to break their 2 month "fast".
Dungeon training, gaining spells.
Trying to get Arun to get them a poltergeist, Arun gets killed. Death Mages are invading the prison, while the council is trying to take over the prison and has thrown Janet's father into a cell in his own jail. Professors and students band together to defeat the Death Mages, rescue Janet's father, and get a poltergeist out of it. Janet's father takes up refuge in the frat's prison.
King is just knocking these books out the park! I really liked this addition to the series. It had a couple hiccups but it sure was funny. Justin can sometimes think outside of the box. I’m kind of curious though as to why he doesn’t morph anymore of his other spells or really use them. It was shown that he used flame barrier then made it into a sword etc. that would come in very handy. Also, he still hasn’t put two and two together that igor called his sabre tooth tiger a changling….meaning she can change forms, we already know she can speak English so its a good guess that she was the one in his bed with the athletic build and the tail. Other than a couple small details the book has been fantastic. Let’s get on to the next one! Onward lads!!!
As a Creation Mage, trouble finds you more than you looking for it, but by having sex with 1, 2, 3, and/ or 4 increadabily sexy female Mages, you gain newer spells along with their type of magic. Saves learning magic the old fashion way, as all other mages do, reading about them or being given them.
It's hard to become a war mage, but harder to break into and out of a magical prison. Yet, it still happens. The fights are fun and the sex more so.
Just read this really fun story. It's great from cover to cover and I couldn't put it down.
Can't wait to see what or who our Sex Mage does next.
What can I say? The highjinks continue in book 3 at about the same pace as books 1 and 2. There were sent a where I was laughing so hard I almost couldn't breath. Dante King is a master of understatement and building situations to the point of absurdity that really make sense in a weird and twisted way. This book is a great addition and sees all the main characters grow as well as add some more background to the world. Overall an amazing addition to what has quickly become one (if not the) best series I am currently reading
This series is becoming very interesting. It kind of makes me think of like Amore action Pact / adult / badass version of Harry Potter going to college. It doesn't take from that series or anything of the sort but it does have the magic aspect as well as the Eccentric characters that are very interesting to learn about and get to know. Eager to see where the story takes us in the next book. Can't wait.
Things are becoming more interesting for Justin and his merry band of misfits! A new sponsor, some fun with Nuns, not to mention a hot succubus, Justin's spell count is rising! Following the faculty into a prison break and getting a poltergeist, this is an eventful book! Seriously the book \series is well written with smart and sarcastic dialogue. I'm enjoying it a great deal and I'm sure that you will as well!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. This time around, Justin faces a theft, a date, and the possibility of finally obtaining poltergeist for the dungeon. Every step is wrought with danger. The story and characters were intriguing and in as they continue to grow. I look forward to reading more about these characters and their further adventures. This book is definitely worth reading.
I gave book one a poor review because it sucks. Unfortunately I had already bought books two and three so I went ahead and read them. Two is a lot better than book one it actually has a plot book three is better than the 1st two. It advances the story line and is actually written decently. So make up your own mind about the series
Following Justin in this brilliantly roguish adventure is so absolutely fun. I love Donte’s storytelling and this story Check’s off so many boxes for putting me in my happy place as I read, not to mention the hijinks the frat gets up to that cracks me up. I highly recommend this whole series.
Fast-paced, humor, magic, and a side of debauchery
The third in a series of fun books. I’m only taking a pause between books to write this before I grab the 4th book. A lot of humor mixed into a magic college setting. It’s Harry Potter all grown up … fun reads. Yes, it’s harem lit. If that’s a deal breaker, don’t read it.
This is, simply, a fun book. I really enjoy the world that King has built here. Yes, the main character doesn't have many real difficulties, but real life is full enough of those. This is a book where the main character wins the day, says a funny line or two, and the credits roll.
The author has kept me entertained with the plot as it slowly unfolds. The pacing is good and I liked the world building aspect of the series. Overall I enjoyed it.
I just love the Creation Mage series. It's just so fun to read. In book three I especially love the bit where Rick first tries riding a Broom Stick. It's totally hilarious!
There is a good story under all this garbage. I've read Dante King books, and it seems each new ones is written worse & worse. It's like he thinks the demographic for these books are college age frat boys and dumb ones at that.
This is a good book. You shouldy read it. I like the story. The characters are fun. The book is a good read. i enjoyed it alot.. Download or buy it today. why not?
Excellent series!! Read this book in one sitting. Funny, and plenty of action. Great characters and the storyline keeps you on your feet. Can’t wait for book 4!!!
