Both stories involve unsuspecting fathers and how they learn of the children.
In A Father's Promise, Wes has been searching for the woman he meet and lost track of but never knew he fathered a child. Now that he knows, can he come to terms with it as he has promised to go help in a foreign country for a year.
A Baby for the Rancher, Ben has been in a coma and discovers the child has been left for him when he gets home. He doesn't even know who the mother is.
Both books have strong characters and a lot to work out.
