The rise of communism poses a threat to the faithful in the West and the East, and Grace and Dorris are forced to choose which side they will take. The journey they take will change them forever and set the course for their futures.
Jessica Glasner is an author and screenwriter. In her timeless classic World War Two series, The Seabirds Trilogy, Jessica’s love for both story and research shine.
Young and old alike agree that her lively characters, colorful settings, and laugh-out-loud vignettes display the goodness of God in the darkest moments of the past. Known for instilling hope, faith, and Judeo-Christian values through page-turning stories, inspiring tears and laughter, her books are those that are read over and over.
This book is a beautiful story of finding purpose, adventure, love, growth and maturity.
While the backdrop of WWII is an oft-explored time period, the author does a stellar job of traversing far more intriguing and unknown regions during that time: India, Tibet, Afghanistan, and more!
The narrative is well-paced and the characters have incredible depth, making important self-discoveries - and some even finding love - along the way. This book is also great for adults and children alike. Read it by yourself, with your spouse, read it alone, read it to your kids, read it aloud, just read it already!
An amazing historical novel and next chapter for the Grey Goose Gang!
From the beginning, the prose brought me right into the scenes, the characters made me care so much, and I was swept up in the adventures that left me eagerly turning pages.
I laughed out loud, had tears in my eyes more than once, and often felt the need to pause and just hug the book.
With unique settings and thought provoking WW2 insights, Glasner captured the huge scope of the global conflict, while also portraying the intimate effects, courage and sacrifice of the people in it’s time.
I am very excited to read the next book in the Columba Diaries!
This book will draw you in! My husband and I read ‘Saving Grace’ at the same time and enjoyed every step of this adventure-filled, historical journey. I definitely recommend this book (and the entire series) to young adults AND adults alike! This is the type of well-researched historical novel that will cause you to learn about places and events in history that you previously had not known about...which I absolutely loved. And the faith journey of the characters adds a depth to the series that I really appreciate. 5 out of 5!
The artistry of this story is absolutely compelling. A most exciting and perhaps the most exotic of Glasner's writings yet. Her ability to explore the human journey in life, and war, in love and with God, is at the highest-level of its kind.
Poignant, profound. Jessica Glasner takes the reader on a heart's journey to learn about life, but more importantly, learning about living life in faith!
A tear jerker... and a fascinating follow up to The Seabirds Trilogy. The author takes you on a surprising adventure that left me waiting for the next installment. I hope the second book in the Columba Diaries is finished soon!
