Seven Brothers. Seven Brides. A revenge seven years in the making.

I never wanted any part of my family’s revenge, but no one asked my opinion when my oldest brother handed out the Brides during Lammas. Now I’m saddled with Monroe, heir to the Amazon clan. She’s as deadly as she is sarcastic, and nothing like the woman I really want. Shiloh. My best friend.

The night Monroe and I consummate our handfasting is like nothing I’ve experienced before. It’s dark and brutal and intoxicating in a way I’m not prepared for. Which means it can never happen again.

But now, every time I turn around, I find Monroe and Shiloh together. She’s spitefully seducing my best friend, the woman I truly want, and there’s not a damn thing I can do about it.

I can’t have one without the other, but letting Monroe close might mean I lose myself completely.

I didn’t like this as much as book one. I did love Shiloh but Broderick was like a weakling and Monroe got on my damn nerves. But as with the first book, the chemistry between all three characters was sizzling.

This is the second book in the Sabine Valley series and Cohen's book. To give a little reminder as to what happened in book one:

The first book started with the seven Paine brothers coming back to Sabine Valley after being in exile for eight years. The first thing the eldest brother, Abel, does is win fights against seven of Sabine Valley's best warriors and win a Bride for each of his brothers and for himself too. It was the only way to gain back some of the power that they lost years ago. Cohen is the second oldest brother and this is his book.

I always have to catch my breath after finishing a Katee Robert book. She's the queen of romance tropes so is it any wonder she's one of my favorite authors ever?

I'm going to list the tropes that are in this book (that Katee herself has listed on social media) for those who are interested to know what they are:

"Forced" marriage,
Enemies to lovers,
Friends to lovers,
Good man gone feral,
MFF

Every single of these tropes was written so well and so spot on, it all gave me heart eyes!

The main characters almost literally took my breath away. I loved all three of them so damn much. Broderick, Monroe and Shiloh has got to be one of my favorite throuples that I have ever read about. It wasn't near easy to get where they were at the end but it was all so worth it. What started as Monroe seducing Shiloh to mess with Broderick ended up being someday way more.

As much as I loved Broderick and Shiloh, Monroe has got to be my favorite out of all three. She absolutely stole my heart and I simply adored how she was with Broderick and Shiloh seperately but also when they were together all three of them. I just love how the author writes her characters, with flaws but the people they're with always accept them with those anyway.

Katee Robert also never fails to make me excited for the next book in the series. We already saw some glimpses of Cohen, Winry and Maddox that made me really excited for Cohen's book. The wait will be a hard one!

Man i love this series. Katee has done such a terrific job of setting up all these unique and interesting relationship stories and dynamics. All the brothers are so different and It’s amazing that in two short books i have a feel for ALL of these peoples personalities and dynamics.

In this one we have Broderick, who has been in love with his best friend Shiloh for years but has never made a move, and his bride Monroe. She’s an Amazon, she’s the heir and fiery and wants to cause problems for everyone. Monroe senses this attraction between Broderick and Shiloh and sets about seducing both of them to hurt them, but it becomes more to all of them and they become a throuple. This had fantastic tension and smut, and I’m superrrr excited for cohens book. And Ezekiel. Tbh all of them - Katee I’m obsessed w this series lol.

Shiloh and Broderick really sucked at admitting their feelings, but it was awesome seeing Shiloh pull it out of them. Spice about a 4

it's katee robert, what did you expect? its slow burn excellence with my favorite sub trope of "its slow burn even though we have been naked since chapter 1", monroe is a DELIGHT, shiloh annoyed me but that's because of when she was being mean to broderick i mean,, i love that man. every book in this series has me more excited for the next. i'm loving what we have seen of the other brothers. it's going to be v fascinating to see how katee will make 5 more books work since the timeline of all the 7 books is the exact same.

dnf @ 44% - I enjoyed Abel’s book, but everything about Broderick’s, from it’s characters to it’s world-building to it’s romance, felt shallow. Monroe was kind of interesting, but Broderick and Shiloh were flat and bland like cardboard. I know this series is on hold indefinitely, but if Cohen’s book ever comes out I’d probably give it a try. And I want to try more of Katee Abel’s books in general since she has a lot of poly romances to choose from. This one was a miss for me though!

Broderick, the second of the Paine brothers, must take for his bride the heir to the Amazons, Monroe, but the woman he would rather be with is his best friend Shiloh. And Monroe knows it, and isn't afraid to take advantage of it.

This book blew my socks off, plain and simple. The relationship between the three works incredibly well, but so do the individual relationships. The slow-burn really pays off, ratcheting up the tension until you want to yell at Broderick and Shiloh not to be so pig-headed - but lucky reader, we've got Monroe to do that. And Monroe is a real gem of a character, vicious with a heart of gold.

Basically, I yearn for the next book, which does not alas have a release date announced. If there's five more books to go I'm going to die of waiting!

Has Katee ever created a better pairing than Monroe, Broderick and Shiloh? All signs point to no. She really stole my heart with this one.

4.5 stars for the book, alll the stars for Monroe!

You know what makes a friends to lovers romance better? Adding in a second, enemies to lovers romance to complete the triangle (circle), so to speak, and take a wrecking ball to the aforementioned friends to lovers dynamic. All while sidestepping the pitfalls of love triangles and so that all the parties involved have a rollicking good time.

Broderick and Shiloh have been BFFs for years and cannot get out of their own way long enough to admit that they has the feels for each other. Which usually makes for annoying time wastage. Enter Monroe, the gorgeous, devious little Amazon princess who lives to push Broderick’s buttons, and show both him and Shiloh what they’ve been missing the whole time. In that process of course, she becomes much more than just a conduit between the two, if not the pillar holding up this throuple. While watching her push his buttons is fun, watching them team up to rock Shiloh’s world is even better. It’s seldom that authors get FFM relationships right, but Katee pulls it off with ease.

Shiloh is supposed to be the glue that holds the trio together, but Monroe clearly is the star of this show, girl is just that magnetic. She is an evil, delightful joy, out to shake things up and rule the world. The ending felt just a smidge rushed, but it wasn’t a big deal seeing as I ate it all up. I love that we get to see the other brothers and their partners get up to their shady shenanigans in the midst of all this, and I’m all amped up for each of the upcoming books in the series.

World building is not great but let’s be honest, I don’t even really care. This polyamorous romance combines two of my favorite tropes, enemies to lovers + friends secretly pining for each other to lovers and serves it up in this most delightful, bananas, sexy AF book. Honestly, this whole series is OTT ridiculous and hot and despite me not wholly understanding the world building, I’m 100% here for ALLLLLL OF ITTTTT.

I have zero idea what is going on with the plot and world-building in this series. Zero. But let's face it, I'm only reading these for the s3x. 🌝

Anyways, this was very spicy. I enjoyed the character dynamics here and had an easier time with the 3 POVs than I did with Abel. I look forward to reading more!

2.75/5 stars, listened as an audiobook. Incredible steam, as always and as expected from Miss Katee. However the plot here and the characters were a bit annoying and cheesy for my taste. Love the whole 7 brides for 7 brothers trope though.

Thanks to the author for providing an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

Reading the books in the Sabine Valley series is like a fever dream, I start reading and then boom I already finished. I'm loving how the author is spoiling us with polyamourous romances and the fact that we get 2 women 1 man is amazing. This book is great if you're looking for something with a little plot and lots of quality time.

The story takes place after the first book, even though it begins right when they first get together, and it's deliciously steamy while also introducing easy to love characters that have an amazing dynamic together. I definitely enjoyed this throuple more that the first one because they're all so different from each other and yet find themselves falling for the other.

There are A LOT of brothers so I'm really interested in continuing on with the series so I can finally meet them.

The truth or Dare scene??? YES PLEASE!

Happy release date to this amazing book!

Thank you Katee for the arc!

It’s no secret that I love Katee Robert’s books, and this was no exception. This is the second book from the Sabine Valley series and it’s about the second brother, Broderick. And Monroe and Shiloh ofcourse.

We did not only get enemies to lovers in this book, but also best friends to lovers. The tension was so well done between all 3 of them.
I loved the different dynamics they all had with each other. You could tell that they needed every person in this relationship to make it work.

The characters were very interesting and I loved how much dept there was in the amount of time that we were with them.

And Katee did not disappoint with the spice! She knows how to keep it interesting even after all these books.

The next book will be about Cohen, we got little glimpses from him in these two books and I can’t wait to see what will happen!

"It doesn’t seem to matter that my legs are longer than hers. The woman is a menace."

This book. Just *chefs kiss*

It is valid to say that much like the first one I felt like the ending was a little hushed and that I'd like to see Broderick and Monroe relationship further explored, their feelings to be accurate.

But the foundation is there, the possibility, ya know?

But them as a throuple - Shiloh, Monroe and Broderick - are everything.

I always enjoy how Katee Robert's books are so open and the naturality involved when speaking about relationship, sexuality and one's decision about their own bodies are.

We don't see it done enough in romance books and it's a praise. It's not there just for the sake of inclusivity, it's just there.

I'm super excited for the next one and for her other series set in this world. I just know it's gonna be a blast.

I didn't enjoy Broderick quite as much as Abel purely because of the characters. Monroe in particular felt a little under developed. We can see that she's a badass but I'd have liked more background as to where her confidence comes from. I can infer it from her upbringing but a bit more fleshing out would have helped. Broderick in general is just not my type. I can't with the self-pitying type and that's how he came off to me. So that's me, not the book. Shiloh was well-written and just enough.

Overall, 3 stars for me. 3 stars is good! I'll continue the series and I'm actually looking forward very very much to Cohen's story as well as how the events of Broderick will affect the overarching plot of Sabine Valley.

Katee Roberts is the queen of making me feel things for characters.

Broderick, Monroe and Shiloh are an amazing character trio, together and apart. Of course we start off with Shiloh and Broderick having the hots for each other but not the balls to admit it. Until Monroe enters the mix, she's sexy, strong and doesn't give any bullshit. Which is exactly what those two need.

This book features a FFM relationship. The start is just a FF relationship which I enjoyed a lot. I liked the fact that there was an attraction from the start but also that it wasn't just because of a man. Definitely was a highlight of this book.

Again THE SMUT in this is pure filth and it's amazing 👏

The plot progressed so well and moved so smoothly I didn't even notice the book was ending, absolutely incredible.

3.75 stars Broderick, Monroe, and Shiloh. Enemies to Lovers/Friends to Lovers/Good man gone Feral. While Monroe took some to warm up to. Broderick and Shiloh's was nice to see their relationship develop as best friends to lovers. Some surprising unexpected events happened, but of course by the end I'm going to have to see what happens with Cohen's story.

I might have started this game, but it’s rapidly slipping beyond my control. Maybe that should concern me, but there’s something magical brewing between the three of us. It’s hot and sticky and oh so dangerous. I want to see what happens when this powder keg explodes.

An angst filled erotic romance filled with enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, polyamory and stubborn as fuck characters? Hell yeah! Katee Robert gave it all and she gave it perfectly. This is the story about Broderick (the second Paine brother), his new Bride and enemy Malone (who is an Amazon royal), and Shiloh (friend to Broderick and part of the Paine inner circle).
I loved these three and thought they matched each other very well. I will say that I slightly enjoyed Abel and his story more just a tad. Abel was way more straightforward than Broderick. Broderick could talk himself in circles all damn day and it was exhausting. Thank god for Monroe who constantly and unapologetically called Broderick and Shiloh out on their bullshit. Without Shiloh, those two would endlessly tiptoe around their feelings for each other.
This book had more of a slow burn to it especially between Broderick and Shiloh, and while it got frustrating at times I can’t lie and say it wasn’t hot. Because we all know Katee brings the heat.
I freaking loved Monroe and I might have left with a small crush. She is a woman who takes what she wants and is honestly a badass. I loved how Monroe pushed Broderick past his limits and accepted the rougher side of him. Shiloh is a woman who is shy and timid at times about opening herself up to others but considering her childhood it’s completely understandable. I loved seeing her character grow thanks to Monroe (sure Broderick helped some but it took him a while to pull his head out of his butt to do so).

CW: there is talk about past childhood trauma including physical abuse and mental abuse

Overall rating 4 stars
Steaminess 3.5 stars (there are FF, MF, MFF scenes)

I enjoyed this one the same amount as the last one, but it had all of the same problems that I mentioned in my previous review. I loved the characters for the most part, and I loved that this book was spread over a larger span of time so that the relationship felt more like it was growing at a more rational rate.

There were a lot of typos and errors that I felt like were really obvious and wasn't expecting. But my main issue was with the storyline feeling like it needed to be restructured because we are getting little snippets of other relationships that are currently happening but would need to go back in time to get the full story and all of these juicy bits, but also it felt off and like the story was partially stilted because we don't see much if other characters besides the main throuple. The stories feel very isolated and like there isn't much going on besides the theouple's relationship until it is convenient for the overall story to need something to push it forward. It was also a bit annoying that Shiloh hated Broderick getting protective over her, but Monroe could be as protective as she wanted, and Shiloh wouldn't get mad about—she thought it was cute. This was also the same when it came to Shiloh's past and her abuse.

I received an advance copy as part of Katee Robert’s Patreon. This in no way influences my review; all words; thoughts, and opinions are my own.

Omg omg omg this was so good!!!!!! I’ve been looking forward to Broderick and all of Katee’s teasers have just amped up my anticipation. And this did not disappoint in the least! I love Monroe so much; she’s vicious and feral and so full of heart. She is definitely one of my all-time favorite heroines! I love the navigation of friendship to lovers between Broderick and Shiloh, as well as the navigation of all three of them to find a balance that works for them. The ending was so good and ahh I cannot wait for Cohen next! Especially with little glimpses of Winry, I can’t wait to get a fuller picture of her outside being Monroe’s little sister.

YES YES YES YES YESYESYESYESYESYES.

We're here for F/M/F romances. I was thinking earlier that I haven't come across a Robert book with a F/F couple and then BOOM I found this book.

It's everything I needed. Enemies-to-Lovers, Friends-to-Lovers, strong female characters, and spice that no amount of Tums can keep under control.

I had to take away 1/2 a star because of the ending. It felt rushed. Do I love the conclusion? Of course! I just wanted to see the signs on the road before reaching the destination.

This was a very enjoyable read!
I loved the strong female characters in this.
It was another throuple, which I enjoy reading about and learning the dynamics.
The spice in Katee Robert books is always enjoyable!
I am disappointed she decided to put this series on hold indefinitely… hopefully she picks it back up one day because I have really been enjoying it!
