She needs a place to stay. He needs a roommate.

Trina is fired after a dating-app hookup gone wrong. On her own and between jobs, apartment hunting is next to impossible.

Her best friend suggests she talk to Dallas, who recently moved home and got a place that's a little too big for just him.

The arrangement is working perfectly... until one night, when a kiss in the kitchen changes everything. They agree on no-strings, but feelings don't care about agreements.

Because of their friendship home has taken on a whole new meaning, but the lure of a job out of state threatens everything they've built together.

Lily Alexander delivers a fun roommates to lovers romance with lots of laughs, sass and a guaranteed happily ever after in this standalone contemporary romance.

Lily is a Colorado native enjoying the fantastic climate of Southern California with her family and cranky cat after surviving more than a decade in hot, humid places where hurricanes get their own season and Winter is a myth.

The written word is her favorite thing - reading or writing, she doesn’t discriminate. Left to her own devices she can read about a book a day; that HEA is a powerful drug!

As an only child she grew up inventing elaborate stories for her dolls to act out. She started word processing on a computer around age 10 and never looked back. After suffering the heartbreak of catastrophic drive failure a regrettable number of times, she has finally learned to back things up appropriately and often.

Follow her antics on social media! (If she disappears for a bit around late August, don’t worry, that’s just her wanderlust kicking in. She’ll be back soon.)

This one probably never had much of a chance with me because the MMC was introduced in a previous book as a bisexual man who strongly preferred men. I gave it a shot, though, and unfortunately the author made them roommates and they both had sex with other people in the apartment while the other was there.

Two incidents made this a deal-breaker for me. She heard him having loud sex with man on one occasion. On a separate occasion she came home to find him on a date with a woman who looked just like her. That same date also ate the last of the cookies the h had baked for herself. I don't know which was more off-putting.

Two stars because the writing was good.

Of course I was going to give this book 5 stars!! I would have given it 5 stars even without reading it... why? Because I've been waiting patiently for Dallas' story!

Since I read about him the first time (my memory is crap so I can't remember if he was mentioned in Image Adjuster or if the brothers were introduced in Winter Bloom... BTW y'all should totally check out the Image and Hollywood Connections series if you haven't read them yet!) I've been secretly in love with Baby Greene!

I just loved the fact that he had a secret that none of his brothers knew and I was dying to know what it was! Sure, I loooove Devon, Daniel and Dennis but Dallas just had that something. And I couldn't wait to see where Lily Alexander was going to take his story!

While reading Spring Breeze I immediately knew who Dennis was going to fall in love with in the end, I just didn't know how exactly. BTW I'm pretty sure Lily got some inspiration from me to create Trina because I'm always saying things that makes people gasp or clutch their pearls! When I met my now parents-in-law for the first time, their dog jumped onto my lap and without even blinking I said: "Ouch, that's my ovaries! I'm gonna need them one of these days so please don't use them as a jumping castle..."

All she needed was a shaved pink hairstyle and that would have been me! Except I don't stress bake... something which I clearly didn't know I would find so entertaining! Every time she started pulling out the baking supplies, I pulled closer the popcorn bowl cos I knew things were gonna get entertaining!

One of my new favorite tropes is one I think Lily invented without even realizing it! I call it the "Zero to F#$cking in 3 seconds!" I was beginning to think that this was going to be the first platonic friendship HEA endings ever written and then BAM!!! I mean there wasn’t even sexual tension between these two! Well... now that I think about it... there was some frustration but not like y'all would think!

All I'm hoping now is that Lily gets someone else to bring into the series so we can have the Autumn book or else my OCD is going to drive me up the walls!

3.5⭐️ I wanted to really like this but it was so slow for me. At 60% I found the audio on hoopla sped through it. There was a lot of build up with Dallas and his ex and then he shows up and it’s a 10 min situation. Really liked the characters and the family. This was just ok for me.

As much as I loved Trina and Dallas as characters, I found their story lacking. It lacked tensions, build up, and even resolution. I don't feel that their issues, what small issue they had, was discussed. They didn't really develop as characters together. Yes, they were friends, but that's all that I saw. I wish there was more build-up of them falling in love and being a couple. As separate characters, they are amazing! I adore the loyalty Trina shows to Addison and vice versa. Trina and Dallas' friendship is also amazing. I much prefer them as friends. To me, they didn't work so well as a couple. Maybe that's just because there wasn't much of them being a couple.

"C’mon, handsome. You owe me a dance.” Trina reached out a hand.
My body flared with surprise. “I do?”
Her playful smile was impossible to resist. I accepted her hand, realizing all too quickly I should have put more effort into getting myself up instead of allowing her to pull me. She overbalanced and, to save us from landing flat on the pavement, I had to wrap my arms around her and twist. I took the brunt of the blow by landing on my ass, Trina sprawled across my lap in a straddle.
“Oops.” Trina’s laugh was a high-pitched giggle. “Sorry.”
She wiggled and slid across my body in her efforts to get up. I was forced to sit for a long moment once she was on her feet, because my body didn’t discriminate over where the caress was coming from; it just appreciated being touched.
“Can I still have my dance, please?”
“Yes, ma’am.” I took a deep breath before climbing to my feet, dusting off my hands before taking hers in them.
The music was much more subdued thanks to the late hour, so I swayed with Trina in my arms, her floral scent filling my nostrils as she leaned her head on my chest. My body was sending out signals for either lust or distress; I wasn’t sure quite yet. She smelled nice and felt good under my hands, but it was just a dance.
I repeated those words to myself a number of times.
“You’re a good dancer, Dallas.”
“Thanks, you are too.” I spun her away from me then back again, her steps graceful despite her intoxication.
As the song ended, she gave me another bright smile and then dropped a kiss on my cheek.
“Appreciated, sir.”
“The honor is mine. Need a drink?”
“I got it. Thanks though.” She skipped toward the coolers, saying goodbye to a few guests on her way there and back.
The party was pretty much over shortly thereafter, and I was left with Trina near the fire pit in the quiet. She was clearly on the drowsy side of drunk.
“Where’d my bestie go?” Trina glanced around for Addison. “I haven’t seen her in a while.”
“I… I think she had an appointment.” I smirked, handing her one of the fleece blankets.
She pulled herself out of the low-slung chair she’d been occupying so she could wrap it around herself before sitting back down.
Her deep exhale ended in a grunt as she leaned back against the chair, groaning, “My buzz is fading. That sucks.” Her face screwed up in confusion. “Wait, an appointment? Who has an appointment this time of night on a Friday?”
I stared at her meaningfully, understanding slowly dawning on her face.
“Ohhh. A dick appointment. Got it. Good for her! She deserves it.” She blew out a hearty sigh. “I wouldn’t mind having one of those myself. I deserve it too.”
The measured up-and-down assessment she gave me with her eyes made me throw up my hands in a defensive pose.
“I don’t doubt it, but I’m afraid I can’t help you.”

I loved this series, 4 brothers run a foundation for dog shelters. This one is on Dallas and Trina.
Trina is transferred back to Birmingham Al where her friend Addison and her went to college. Addison is with Dennis and works for foundation. Trina’s first day at work she is let go. She had slept with the bosses boyfriend, she didn’t know it was so was let go saying it was down sized.
Dallas just got a new apt that was to big but he loved it. Addison suggested they move in as roommates. They decide to do it. They all help her move in. As Dallas as Trina spend time together they get along well have a banter that’s easy. They start to notice each other in a new light. They watch TV together, she backs and he loves it all. They are really settling in. Trina is having a hard time finding work. Dallas get her on at the fountain. The walk at night together and end up sleeping together. It comes out that Dallas’ last release with a man. Trina is cool, no strings attached. She gets a job interview in Orlando. Dallas isn’t happy he fights with her as she’s leaving.
While she is gone they both realize what they have together is real not just sex. When she gets back they say they love each other. Go to beach and plan to meet her parents.

Wow. Just wow. I honestly have no idea how to even put my feelings about "Summer Storm" into words. It caught my attention from the very beginning, then held it throughout the rollercoaster ride of events that took place and all the way to the end. Personally, I love that Dallas and Trina both have very deep, and maybe even dark pasts because that's what makes them so relatable. On top of that, I think those "raw" parts of each of them make their relationship stronger when they come together, and it seems more realistic than something that came out of a Hallmark movie, so to speak.

Overall, Dallas and Trina's story was absolutely incredible and I definitely enjoyed reading it. If I didn't have another ARC to read and review after this one, I'd definitely be stuck in a book hangover because it's just that good. If you ever get the chance to read this, or if you're even just thinking about it, dive right in. I promise you won't regret it. ❤️

wow i really enjoyed this book and this series!!!

i’m not gonna lie, i was the tiniest bit disappointed that dallas did not end up with a man, but i also appreciated how he and trina were such twin flames and so compatible so whatever.

really loved the overall presence of all the characters i’ve met through the past books in this story! especially a good ol post-addison dennis! so fun.

lily alexander’s writing is great; i’ve thought so this entire series. her stories don’t lack originality, even when consisting of basic tropes. nothing will beat dennis’s and addie’s story in my opinion, but all three books in this series were written with so much love. and the drama in this one was so good! i love stubborn people who don’t know how to admit their feelings to one another! chef’s kiss!

This is definitely my favourite out of the series. This one just blew me away which rarely happens with the trope. I loved both Trina and Dallas, especially Trina. She's so sassy, witty and funny, you'll laugh constantly. Their banter is one that you want to look forward to because it was so hysterical.

And there's Dallas. Just like the rest of his brothers, he's another swoony hero you want to add to your long list of book boyfriends. I loved how their friendship grows and shift to something more. It was just so sweet and works perfectly for them. I loved how they cared for each other. Their story is definitely one you don't want to miss out on.

I was thoroughly invested in this romance with its engaging plot and relatable characters.

Written in dual perspective, the narrative is full of humor and real-to-life moments. I was caught up in the world of Trina and Dallas and the host of equally interesting friends and family who add layers of laughter and love to the story

This is a new to me author; her writing is easy to read and is descriptive without being overly so. I shall be searching out more of her books in due course.

A thoroughly enjoyable read…. I received a copy of this book from the author via Quirky Blind Date with a Book

Summer Storm, was all that, it took me by a storm. I have not read anything by Lily Alexander before and I loved this book. While this is the third book in this series I did not feel lost about what had happened previously, though I now do want to go read the first two books. I loved this book and the characters. I laughed at the witty banter, I got frustrated at some of the characters' decisions. I cannot wait to read the next book. This book is well worth your time, also did I mention that there is some spice as well. Overall a 5 star read.

Alexander did it again! Her writing is so unique and flows so beautifully, I forget I’m reading a book and not living the story! Trina is hysterical and everything’s I want in a strong sassy heroine. And Dallas? Well the rest of the Greene brothers were swoony, so there was no doubt he would be too. The way they care for each other as friends first, then to have that relationship grow… so sweet, so hot, and just perfection. I’m obsessed with Lily Alexander’s writing!!!

Good read

I'd give it 3.5 stars, good read, humor, heat and feels. Trina moves back to her college hometown, back to her bestie. A snafu with her last bit of fun fines her out of a job and without housing. Bestie to the rescue, well bestie's boyfriend's brother needs a roommate so Trina and Dallas struck a friendship. Friends to lovers story with a lot in between!

This was a good friends to lovers story. Trina needed a place to stay, Dallas needed a roommate. With mutual family and friends as well as similar personalities, it was inevitable they would fall for one another.

This book was cute! The beginning was a little slow and I didn’t realize it was a part of a series or I would’ve started in the beginning. By the end though I liked the characters and the plot. The ending felt a little rushed but it was a cute little beach read.

Lily once again nailed the slice of life aspect with her newest book.

It was delight to read with some giggle-worthy moments as well as some groans. (In the sense that you know bad dates/matches happen, you've been in those shoes a time or two.) I also very much loved the fact that she also had some queer representation in this book. And not just a side-character either.

I don't want to praise her story too much because I don't want to spoil any of the fun bits, but if you need a good weekend read with some delicious spice to it, you can't go wrong with this one. I recommend pairing it with some desserts too.

I loved Dallas in the second book in the series but I knew that there was more to the eye when it came to him. I wanted....no more like needed to know more about him. So of course was so excited when I found out that Summer Storm was where he was one of the main characters. He did not disappointment in his own book. He was still quirky and still loved to pick on his brothers. But to see them dish it back to him in this book was perfect. I have to say though, some of the history that you learn about Dallas and his relationship in book two helps make him more well rounded. You don't feel like your missing anything. I also love Trina in book two and love her in this book as well. I am so glad that we get to know her even better as she is an amazing best friend. She is well rounded and quirky as well so it made their relationship so easy to picture. Also let's talk about this amazing plot. This plot was so easy to flow from their friendship to lovers. It was so nice to see how they built this amazing friendship so it was an easy slide in. Of course there is some drama but what relationship doesn't have drama. I absolutely adored this book and highly recommend checking this out once you read the first two in the series.
