My role as the little blonde haired, do-gooder daughter is only one of the many lies my mother perpetuated after infiltrating the Adams family.
Her obsession knew no bounds, and I was only along for the ride.
Then my mother vanishes into thin air, leaving me with a father that’s a virtual stranger and a family war that should never have been mine.
Now, I’m taking my dark roots to the one place everyone warns me to stay away from. There’s no safety at Banner-Hill, only three corrupt men ready to see exactly how bad this angel can be.
My sister found her freedom at Banner-Hill. Now it’s my turn.
Cassie James is a midwest-adjacent romance author. Her love of happy endings is rivaled only by her obsession with pictures of cute dogs. She has two fluffy beasts of her own that she shares with her real life book boyfriend.
WHAT THE HECK, Cassie James! I had no idea what we had in store for us for Madison- but my goodness was it a delicious, shocking, and unexpected start to her story!
If you’ve read the Truth and Dare duet, you know that this story has some amazingly unusual elements, and that unique spin plays out in Madison’s story, with us finding Madison in a storyline I never anticipated- BUT I AM HERE FOR IT. And Madison won me over completely- in fact, so far I’m loving this even more than Natalie's story. It’s unpredictable, gritty, titillating, and intriguing. And I need more!
While the story did start a bit slowly, the second leg picked up with a shocking pace. Madison ended up having layers that I never anticipated. Cassie has given her an intriguing mix of light and darkness, vulnerability and steel, recklessness and strategic prowess. She’s clearly a heroine that you can’t underestimate, and even though she’s now playing in the big leagues with some power players, I’m confident she’s going to bring them to their knees...eventually. These men are DEEELICIOUS. Diving into a unique dynamic with Madison quickly and unpredictably, I was salivating for each of them. They are sexy, dangerous, and captivatingly mysterious. I can’t wait to dive deeper into their minds.
As always, we have lots of players on the board and a lot of motives- and I’ll just say this- CASSIE YOU HAVE SOME ‘SPLAINING TO DO. I have lots and lots of questions. Just when our story felt like it was REALLY beginning, we’re left thirsty for more. A shocking conclusion fortelling a series and duet finale full of more dark suspense and turbulent emotional chemistry, and now I am ready to SEEK
Maddie's book was amazing! Cassie is a fantastic author and every one of her books have been a page turner for me. This book is no different and I love the character's in this series. Maddie is one kick a** girl who don't take no bull from anyone. She surprised me over and over throughout this book. The guys are all great in there own ways and I can't wait to see what other adventures Cassie's mind take us on with these characters. This book is definitely a must read and I'll be anxiously waiting for more.
The Maddison Adam’s/Milller POV in this Banner-Hill series
In this third book in the “Scandals of Banner Hill the focus is now on Maddie Adam’s. (Madison Miller
Maddie is the younger stepsister to Natalie Adam’s, from the reality TV series “Adam’s Ever After” She featured mainly as a secondary character through the first two books . In this third book she has burst well and truely outside of her “Adam’s Ever After” persona, turning into a girl hell bent on taking control of her life. Putting herself first, while exacting revenge on a self centred, gold digging mother and an absentee father. Who it turns out wasn’t that far away from her after all. Yep. *Spoiler Alert* Turns out, dear old Dad was only Stepdad Ken Adam’s, and the whole Adam’s families, bodyguard Casper. Whom, Maddie witnessed first hand killing Natalie’s sleazy Uncle Murphy.
So the bulk of this story revolves around Maddie trying to get to the bottom of the secret nefarious organisation called the “Trojans” . A group of powerful men. Politicians, and businessmen who trade in sex and secrets. Into the mix we meet Maverick, a young arms dealer that Maddie stole guns from, and who has an attraction to her.
In fact seventeen year old Maddie ( going on eighteen) has a busy time of it in this book, juggling not only Maverick, but her one time stepbrother Drew (Andrew Foley) a journalist, who gets his stories by going deep undercover.
And! Arlo, the dangerous, serial killer for hire ( readers of the first two books will remember that he is the father of Siobhan, one of Natalie’s besties from Banner-Hill) AND, Sacha Hill. (Of the Banner-HILL) Who, towards of the end of the book makes Maddie an offer she is in no position to refuse.
This offer sets up a....quite frankly, weird dynamic between Maddie, Maverick and Sacha.
All this leads up to an ending filled with vengeance and several people killed at the Banner-Hill Sex Club Bar... BuT WHO??? UNFORTUNATELY ...like all good cliffhangers we won’t find out who is dead until that next book... Who knows when THAT will be. This book took so long I had to do a refresh through my goodreads reviews. Hopefully #4 won’t be as long.
Overall, I really liked the character of Maddie in this book. She doesn’t let her attraction to certain guys get in her way - Well, up to a point. Okay!....She gets a LOT distracted by Arlo, ( how old is he btw?) But, for a young girl wise beyond her years in some area’s, she’s not about to let her new found enjoyment of SEX to get her distracted from her main mission.... Well, she’s trying.... Because she is fearless, mouthy, also pragmatic but....very impulsive

I thought I knew Madison Adams heading into Hide. I thought wrong. Thought I knew these characters and their bonds, thought I knew the players and the lay of the land. But I should have known by now, just like Natalie, nothing about Madison Adams is what it seems. Hide turns everything we learned in Truth and Dare on its head, and then inside out just for good measure. Faulty narration, half truths, schemes and secrets abound in and out of the halls of Banner-Hill and the Adams Estate, and it was everything I could have asked for and then some!
I loved every surprising bit we learn about Madison, and as we meet the men and the twisted web she's found herself tangled up with, I'm just gonna say right now, I'm formally petitioning to keep two of them alllllllll to myself, because hot damn, yes please.
This book is best read after starting Natalie's story in Truth and Dare, but can also be read as a standalone. I have to say, read Truth and Dare first, and then come tell me if you hit the exact reveal moment I did where you AUDIBLY SCREAM and realize Cassie MFKN James is an evil, evil genius. Because I NEVER SAW THESE TWISTS COMING. I fully picture her sitting in her house just laughing and laughing and laughing herself silly as we all think we know which way is up as we dig ourselves deeper and deeper into chaos.
And speaking of chaos - MA'AM. WHAT THE WHAT WAS THAT?! WHAT. THE. ACTUAL FUDGE. WAS. THAT. ENDING?!?!?!? What have you done?! Cassie James and the *AUDACITY*
Cassie James has written another knockout. I was obsessed with truth and dare. It was such a different take than most stories I read. Then, she wrote Hide. I was a little leery because all of the aspects of her last duet that I loved I didn’t think would be touched here. I was certainly proven wrong and I am not upset about it. I think Madison’s story may have surpassed Natalies duet. When I tell you that this book shocked me and made me say WTF it was because I never knew what was going to be on the next page. I’m not quite sure how she delivered such an amazing 3rd book to ‘this series’ but holy cow. I’d like seek meow please!
Madison’s story made me a little envious, her men were about perfect and I drooled over each one. They each had attributes about them that distuinged them from one another but together talk about a force to be reckoned with. And Madison, I would have never believed she was the BA that she is. She is not one you want to cross and if you do, watch your back. All in all, if you haven’t read any of Cassies books, start, now. She is an unsung author and has the talent and charm that needs all the recognition. My only complaint is she’s not #teamlogan ;)
4.5⭐ rounding up because I loooove anti-heroes and these have me panting 🥵
You can dive into this story without having read the prior Truth/Dare duet, which covers Natalie's story. Hide is Madison's story and role from her POV. Dark contemporary RH with mystery and secrets. Age gap. Dubcon.
Madison surprised me... And kept surprising me. I don't want to gush about what I particularly loved and spoil the surprise for other readers. Let's just say that when she first sheds her sweet, innocent, meek TV personna I just wanted to know all of her. She's fierce, fiery, impulsive ... and revels in being underestimated. She's also not one to trust easily and has learned to count on herself from an early age.
The guys .... I'm such a sucker for dangerous anti-heroes. For two of them, I was shipping them from her first meeting. This story has been slow build for the relationships, and there is still so much more to cover -- the guys' backstories with each other, the relationship build with Madison, and what they will do together in this world of power and privilege.
In many ways the end of this book feels like it's just the beginning of the story for these characters, after laying the groundwork for Madison's character, life, and motivations, the action picks up, I'm hooked in ... and now I need to hang tight for Seek (Book 2 to Madison's story).
"[Banner-Hill is] also the place she found her freedom, and now it’s my turn to do the same. Just with … a different definition of what freedom looks like."
Wow! This is my first Cassie James book and I was blown away! I'll definitely be raiding her back catalogue for more of her amazing writing!
Maddison miller, the FMC in this story is brilliant, I could really connect with her on a personal level with all the struggles she faced. I loved the way she dealt with life and the people around her whilst also growing and learning sometimes its OK to let people in. The storyline was beautifully written and fast past which kept me hooked, I was fully immersed in the mystery surrounding maddies life and all the characters that brought new situations and revelations into her life.
I've kept my review vague as you really need to experience this brilliant book for yourself! Thankyou for letting me read cassie ❤
I GOTTA SAY THIS. I was floored with how much I loved Maddie. I mean, I loved her SO much. She was a baddie. Maddie the baddie. I think with this book compared to Natalies, my heart was beating out of my chest MORE. There were MORE twists. And the men. Shewww. Arlo, Maverick, Sascha and Drew. COME TO MAMA. WOW. THAT ENDING. OMG. 5 STARS AND MORE
2/5. Had high hopes due to positive reviews. Having read the preceding duology, this didn’t live up. The only positive is that Cassie James writes stronger heroines than is usual for this genre, everything else was ew.
What I liked: - Madison had more depth than expected, and I do like a darker/morally ambiguous heroine, and although she had flaws, they were pretty standard for what you’d expect from a teenager. I thought, okay, fine, let’s see. And then immediately,
What I didn’t like: - Male leads lusting after her when she was 17. Ew. And if the male leads were all 18/19, then maybe I could stomach it, but they were mostly adult men implied to be in their 30s at least. Really put me off. Even if she was the most attractive women on Earth, a 17 year old is literally a child. Mentally, physically, emotionally. Anyone who can’t see that is weird. And even though she turned 18 during the course of the book, a few months really don’t make a difference beyond legality.
- Insta-love that felt unbelievable. The preceding duology, Natalie’s story, avoided this problem as most male leads had history with her, so I could understand why they’d be in love with her. Madison? She’s a stupid, reckless, violent teenager (not even saying this negatively; every teenager is stupid) but somehow every man she came in contact with instantly fell in lust, and then also instantly in love. So the the characters had no chemistry and the relationships were also creepy. Not what you want in a book.
Very few things to like here. I disliked all male leads. The only HEA this story could have is if they all end up on the sex offenders registry and kept minimum 100 yards away from the main heroine at all times.
Hide is book one of a duet, and ends in a cliffhanger.
So, I took a break from the monster book I was reading to binge this with a friend/arc partner.
It starts off slow; actually starts partially in the middle of the last duet, so the plot overlaps. But then it picks up, and we really meet who Maddie is.
Maddie is a strong, independent woman. She takes no sh!t from anyone. She’s been looking after herself in this messed up family for years, and she is determined to make a way for herself.
In her path turn up several men, men who intend on taming her, possessing her. Instead, she turns the tables, and makes them acquiesce to her will.
This turns interesting, considering how she ends up at Banner-Hill, and her history as a child star. Lots of intrigue and suspense, everything turns full circle at the end, until one momentum changing scene. This is where I insert that I kept trying to swipe the page, because that couldn’t be where it left off. But of course, it did. Lol. In a WTF moment, I messaged my buddy, and she get exactly the same. Sigh.
Maddie was seriously everything I didn’t know I was hoping she would be. I was happy that she was not the innocent Angel she was made out to be. She has a temper, she’s fierce, she’s confident, doesn’t take any crap, and independent.
Maverick was another character that surprised me. I completely expected him to be a jerk and angry at what she did to him before the book started. Instead he seemed fascinated by it. I never expected him to be the type to actually care for her but I loved him by the end of this book.
I kinda have mixed feelings over Sascha at the moment. He seems like a huge jerk but I will keep my fingers crossed that Maddie will wrap him tightly around her finger.
I LOVE her obsession with Arlo. I have a feeling their crazy matches a lot more than we saw so far in hide. I will anxiously be waiting to see what happens with them on seek.
Drew... I loved him but I’m not entire sure if his place yet. If he will remain a friend or will be part of her harem. I loved that he was always there for her and did not hide his feelings.
Overall I am hooked on maddies story and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
Secrets, and a family that built their fortune on lies. Madison has always just wanted to be free of the Adams and her mother. Her mother has disappeared and the secrets are starting to unravel.
Madison finds out who her father is, and finds how exciting manipulation and working negotiation is for her. Sometimes she wins, and sometimes she finds herself in deeper than she bargained for. The men are dangerous, and they find her to be different than her tv persona. Madison is the wild one, she pushed away people because she doesn’t understand connection. She has always had people walk away, no one stays, no one SEES her. Now, she is starting to connect and catch feelings, and she doesn’t know how to process them all. She’s also finding out the dark world that’s in the little black book that Ken had, and is finding herself hiding to keep the book and herself safe until she can decide if she wants to blow it wide open.
This book is hot, steamy, and medium heat till about the end. I’m shook and threw my phone. It was soo good !
I really enjoyed this book. I would even say 8 stars instead of 5 it was truly an epic story so far. I am a first time reader of Cassie James and apparently I have been missing out.
I'll be off to reading the first 2 books for a fact.
I was so on the edge of my seat, turning the page when it was over, like no, this can not be the end, not like this.
Maddie Miller is a straight up badass, with an unfortunate kind of family where she learned to only depend on herself. She is strong, independent and full of sass. I love that she doesn't take shit from everyone, but also the fact that she isn't afraid to be herself.
Only "bad" thing about the book is the cliffhanger, like how could you do this, my emotions can't take this. I need answers.
But honestly I can't wait to see what is in store for this crew. I read this in one go because I couldn't put it down so you have been warned.
I love how the guys all have their own personality but that they still are powerful in their own way.
WOW!!! Hide definitely packs an enormous punch right from the start and I think it is my favourite in the Scandals of Banner-Hill series. (So far). While I loved Natalie from the first 2 books, in my opinion, I think Maddie has now surpassed her. What a transformation. She doesn’t take any crap from anyone and she stands up for what she believes in. No matter the consequences. She really only trusts herself. Maddie is SUUUPPPER stubborn, argumentative and doesn’t back down against anyone. I do like that side of her especially when she is going toe to toe with one of her men. Very entertaining!!
Oh, and what about her men????? Just wow. She certainly knows how to pick them!!! I do have to say that I was wrong about Casper. I didn’t pick who he turned out to be. But hopefully we will see more of him in the next book.
Cassie James, you nailed that ending. I kept trying to turn the page on my kindle and nothing. So now I have to wait (im)patiently for when the next book comes out to find out……. Who????? I need to know. UUURRRGGGHHHHH.
Hide is the story of Natalie’s step-sister Madison. And I was pleasantly surprised to read Madison’s perspective or side of events of Dare. Madison in some ways is the opposite of Natalie. Where Natalie keeps her friends and lovers close at times, Madison completely shuts them out. Madison has lived her life trying to survive and with almost a detachment-like quality. I also was surprised with whom Madison gets involved with 👀.
Now to the plot. Madison is meeting with childhood friend Andrew Foley and figuring out a way to keep him safe from everything. We do also find out a bit about Casper and his intentions toward her. This book was different as Natalie always used Banner-Hill as her “home,” and comfort zone, whereas Madison doesn’t really have that, at least not now. I’m excited to see where Madison’s story leads into Seek! Def recommend it for others to read. I also feel that you don’t have to read the other books as it’s completely separate from Natalie’s story, but could be an add-on if you wish.
Ok I’m going to be honest I didn’t think I’d love Madison as much as Natalie. That lasted all of 4 pages before I wanted to worship at her fucking feet. Cassie James prepare yourself because you’re about to get a lot of compliments from this reader. I am so in love with Madison, Arlo, Maverick, Sascha, and Drew that I don’t even know where to start.
I loved that each man was dangerous and powerful in a different way. Arlo the serial killer who’s protective and just rough enough to make a girl wet, Maverick the incredibly sexy dangerous arms dealer who’s thoughtful and sweet, Sascha who’s mysterious and knows how to use what God....(Cassie...they’re the same person in my eyes right now) gave him, and Drew who’s not afraid to dive headfirst in a dangerous situation but is sweet as fearless. Madison is the girl everyone thinks they know. They think she’s the sweet naive innocent but when she shows her true colors you better pray you survive.
Cassie knocked Hide out of the park. One of my favorite things in a book is to not see what’s going to happen next and Cassie certainly delivered. This book was sexy, interesting, and the characters were a readers wet dream.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Hide is the third book in the Scandals of Banner-Hill series. This is the first book of the duet from Madison's point of view. We meet Madison in the first two books, as she is the stepsister of the main character in those books.
Now Madison is here to find answers. What really happened to her stepfather? Where did her mother go? We learn a lot about Madison. She isn't the perfect little angel their tv show made her out to be.
As Madison is learning all the secrets and lies she has three very different relationships with three men, and I can loved it. They are not the easy going guys I thought she would be with, so I was surprised and enjoyed it. Each man thought they would tame her, but she proved them all wrong. She is a strong independent woman, and will do what she has to too survive.
I really enjoyed this book, and I can not wait to see what happens in the next book, and what happens with Madison. I'm really enjoying her character, and I wasn't expecting it when reading the first two books, so it was a nice surprise!
Welp, I am lost for words. I just couldn’t imagine that this was what I was going to read when reading Maddie’s story. I was thinking she was this sweet mousy girl but nope. She is one bad *****. Of course. She has grown up worse than Nat, but that only makes her part of who she is. She takes no bs from anyone and she holds her own. Of course, she seems to not care too much about the world she was in and pretended to be someone she wasn’t, and so was Nat. For two girls that were born differently, they both seem to have something alike, their upbringing and the way they just hate their parents. Gotta love the men in her life also, am I right? This girl gets thrown into a world she didn’t know existed and just like Nat decides that there is only one place that could help her. Maddie’s story was great, and for some odd er reason I prefer it over Nat’s, but that’s just my opinion. Thanks Cassie James for another great read. Can’t wait for the last book in this series.
Wait a hot damn minute, you can't end it there! Holy hell this was much much more than what I was expecting from Natalie Adams little sister Maddie! And I guess that's the point she has been utterly underestimated her entire life, making her cunning, devious, deadly and unscrupulous. I just adored this character. Her allegiance is to herself alone. Sure there are some who are in her outer periphery but she is strength in the most unexpected way. What I love about this slow burn is the story development, not so common in a first book given its usually where we see the character dynamics and story. This hasn't compromised the characters but rather slowly revealed the players and plot so there is still so much mystery surrounding Maddie's men. I'm looking forward to see how Seek concludes this duet!
Hide caught me off guard and left me wanting more!
Hide is the 3rd book in the Scandals of Banner-Hill series but the first from Madison's POV. Madison is everything I wasn't expecting. We see her in Natalie's books and you think you know her but boy were we wrong. And much like her, the guys are equally as shocking. They see her in a way others never did. I love little parts of all of them but I definitely think they have work to do. It's an interesting dynamic and I cannot wait to see where their story goes.
This book is full of shock, intrigue, suspense, and angst! There were so many times my mouth was left hanging wide open. The twists and turns in this book are ones you will not see coming. Cassie James is somewhat devious in her writing but I am here for it!
Wow I did not see this book coming on so many levels. Bravo Cassie. I was not expecting Madison to be the character that she was,. I was not expecting certain relationship dynamics. I wasn't expecting the story. The story takes place during truth and dare at first and Cassie does a really good job of connecting thoses timelines and the events that take place during them. And making the connection between the storylines make sense in the timelines.
I'm really impressed by this book and was taken by surprise on a few levels. It kept me hooked was well-written and I really enjoyed it. And I'm really looking forward to the second part of this duet and to get the full picture of the whole story and especially it being the last book in the bannee hill series overall.
I'm not sure what I was expecting for Madison's story, but this book exceeded all expectations! Like two sides of the same coin, we get a glimpse into the other side of Natalie's story (Banner-Hill 1 & 2), but these events are Madison's. We see what played out in her point of view and how exactly events connect to her.
Unlike her sister, Maddie came from a different and harsher life before she came to live with the Adams. She finds she is connected more so than she thought to the secrets of her assumed family. She trusts no one and is determined to do what it takes to seek justice, including offer herself to men for her greater purpose. This is her story and it's nothing like Natalie's.
No one needs to throw Maddie Miller to the Wolves because she walks right in with her head held high and her trigger finger ready and Im here for it ever step of the way!!!!
Cassie James writes an empowered female role twirled within a fast paced story thats so gripping you cannot help but read until the pages end and your begging for more of Maddie and her elusive men and I really am begging!!! The wait will kill me in the best kind of way and I know that it will be worth it.
Can totally be read as a stand alone but the first 2 books in the Banners Hill Seriesnare just as good. Cassie truly is a writing genius.
Man, I love Maddie more than Natalie, she is awesome! She is such a bombshell of an FMC! And her men, uh! Arlo is my favorite with Maverick as a close second and Sascha is ify ify at the moment. I’m still wondering if Drew is gonna be one of hers also! And what she does to Casper her father, LMFAO!!!!! That is hilarious, not telling them he’s her father, but also sad for him. The mystery of not knowing what’s going to happen and bam, surprising us with that ending, uh!!!! I want to know what happens!!! I can’t wait for the next book!!!
wow what book, I loved truth and dare but I had no idea that hide would be as great. I just loved Madison and to find out that she’s not so innocent and naive just blows my mind. I love all the twists and turns and it just kept me guessing. The guys are just perfect for Madison and I love the chemistry between them. Can we talk about the ending? Wow! I was shocked and shouting. You can’t beleive it is left like that and it left me wanting more. I just love Cassie’s writing style as this book is so well written with a plotline that flows off the pages. I cannot wait for the next book.
After reading Natalie's story (Truth and Dare), I honestly had no idea what to expect of Madison's story. With Natalie's story, you could kind of figure out who she would end up with but I had no idea with Madison. Without spoiling it, I was pleasantly surprised. Cassie James framed Madison as a strong willed FMC with her secrets & darkness that I hope we can find out more about her. Madison is certainly a character who doesn't need help from men and that shows every step of the way in Hide. Read this book!!
Cassie, I swear to God girl you never have disappointed me! And Hide was everything I have been waiting 1029737749102 days for!!!
I have looked forward to Madison’s story since the end of Nats and I am soooooooo pleased with the outcome! I am loooooving the age gap! The Semi non-con! Ughhhhh
Are you done with Seek yet? Because I for sure and ready to read it.
Girl you can send it chapter by chapter for all I care! I am in love!!
This book was everything I wanted and then some! This is the 3rd book in Cassie James Scandals of Banner Hill series. Truth, book 1 and Dare, book 2 followed Natalie and her guys. This book is Madison’s story. Hide picks up right where Dare left off. I loved everything about this book. I love how we get Madison’s side of the story. If you haven’t started this series yet, I highly recommend that you go immediately and grab book 1! You won’t be disappointed!
Ahhh... what an amazing book. This book follows Madison (Maddie) Natalies younger step sister and is book one in the duet. Cassie James what did you do! You got me all hooked with your words and I’m in a hangover. I loved that Maddie was a meek girl to everyone looking out but in reality she’s one bad*** chick. So umm Cassie when can I get my next fix of Maddie? Asking for a friend... me I’m that friend 😄
This book, wow. It took me away and I could not stop reading it. It moves along at a pace which made for an extremely comfortable read. The characters are amazing and you feel like you know them and no matter what happens you cant help but love them. The story will keep you interested and reading till the end and then you need more. This is a must read no doubt about it.
