The leads in this are ok, but the relationships that Celia has with her mother and that Brady has with his stalker are literally unbelievable. The book is more about these toxic abusive relationships than the relationship between the main characters and there's no reason visible on the page that either of the main characters would or should maintain these relationships.

What's worse here is the denouement is them cutting those relationships off ... but not in a believable way either, because neither of the psychotic characters in question would settle for the way these relationships end.

All of that silliness coupled with awful proof-reading/copy-editing translates to a rare 1 star for me.

I really wanted this book to be good. I was looking for a quick easy enjoyable read. There were so many typos it was hard to follow. The only reason it got 2 stars is because it had potential and wasn’t boring...repetitive at points..but not boring

The language was weird at parts. I had to double check that they were in America because since when do American friends call each other “mate”?

This is an interracial couple and the descriptions of how they looked were terrible. The only time we really heard about someone being black and it meaning something was when the author decided to point out that the lead male got to “...see a huge black man whimper and cower in front of a petite woman...”. That was the moment I almost put the book down. 2020 was a hell of a year and to see clear racial stereotyping was disgusting.

The ending was abrupt and the fate of the antagonists wasn’t clear. You don’t get psychopaths to just disappear because you said so.

This book needed at least 50 more pages to wrap it up. It also needs professional editing and a rewrite. I doubt I’ll ever read a book from this author again. It was free so I should have expected it to be subpar.

NOPE!

Exactly when is it sexy for the woman wearing the pants in the relationship sexy??? NEVER! Especially not in this story. The Male character in this story, see I already forgot his name, is a true moma's boy, bed wetting sissy, and the woman character Celia, is a strong character, to a certain point. But when they both give in to the pressure of her unbelievably controlling mom, and end their relationship, thereby making her mother win, I had to stop reading. I could not believe Celia would not kick this woman to the curb, regardless of the "promise" she made to her grandma, who by the way could not also stand Celia's mother either. It was an idiotic promise. The story had great potential, but failed miserably. Big time!

When both parties stood up, their love stopped costing them!

It is sad when a would be suitor can't take a hint. It is criminal the things she did to ruin the life of a man she claim to love. Such was the case of the woman who was finally stopped from her criminal activity against Brady for her to get the message that he did not want her. Then there is the mother of his love interest Celia who like Brady's stalker had to be read the legal riot act before she got it through her head that she had lost her daughter Celia for good! Now Brady and Celia are finally able to pursue a life together devoid of her mother and his stalker in their lives. This was a sad but good love story!

Brady and Celia's story was good. Their 1st meeting was in a hospital where they both had love ones being cared for, as young kids. Even then, they connected on some level with each other. They meet years later and things start to change in their relationship. Once they become truly interested in developing this relationship, they have to deal with 2 CRAZY people. One being Celia's mother Cynthia, and the other is Brady's highschool person Dev. Each lady tries to destroy what Brady and Celia feel for each other but it doesn't happen. I was finally happy when both of them stood up to Dev and Cynthia. Brady's mom Bethany and his friend Marvin were a strong support system for him. Would love to read Marvin and Marcy's story as a book 2 follow up to this one.

Good story

Crazy mom, crazy friend are a few things Brady and Celia have to put up with. Good Read Like the story of Brady and Celia. They met as kids and reconnected as adults. However each has someone in their lives who don't want them together. It was nice to have Celia stand up to her mother.

A waste of time

The novel was actually pretty good with a plot that was interesting, but the over reliance on sexual activity to carry the story got very old quickly. Barely recommended.

Celia and Brady are perfect together, just what the other needed in their lives. But meddling family and friends threaten to mess it up for these two. I enjoyed the storyline and loved the couple, a very enjoyable story.

Never again

What an absolute waste of time there was no real story here. I really should have stop reading after the first 5 chapters but I kept hoping it would get better. Too bad the lowest rating is one star.
