Dangerous Alphas #1
Bloody Escape
Welcome to my life, constantly having to move around, fleeing attack after attack, with only Sid to keep me company. Sometimes it was my own fault, other times not so much. Random men deciding they either wanted me or wanted me dead.
Men have always wanted to own me, an alpha female with a powerful ability, but none of them have been able to keep me prisoner. Until now...
I was laying low, enjoying the quiet life and celebrating three whole months without killing anyone, when everything was turned upside down by a very rude alpha—the self-appointed King of Germany. I tried to play nice and not break my no-kill streak but it didn’t go so well...
'The Vampire' was back, and this time I had company in the form of a sexy necromancer and a giant seer, two alpha men determined to save me, my beloved Sid, and get us all out of the country before the King of Germany struck again.
Slow build, paranormal reverse harem set in a fantasy version of Europe where everyone is a shifter and alphas have unique magic abilities.
This book is 18+ and contains dark themes that could be triggering. This series will contain m/m.

I don’t normally start series that only have the first book out but I’ve never gotten an ARC before so I had to jump at the opportunity.
Overall solid read and a series I would stick with. I wasn’t overcome with emotion reading it or completely consumed like I can be with the rare perfect book. But I enjoyed reading it and would absolutely try other books from this author in the future.
I have read quite a few reverse harem and supernatural books but this was my first experience with omegaverse and I am definitely intrigued. Based on the authors disclaimer at the start of the book I expected a much darker read. There are a couple possible triggers but they are only briefly touched on and anyone that likes their books on the darker side would be totally fine.
The author has built up quite an interesting and unique world. She gave details throughout the book so it wasn’t an overwhelming info dump all at once and kept it interesting. I am eager to learn more about this world she is building. She made some fun changes to the classic shifter stereotypes you read about so often.
I am very picky when it comes to my main characters, especially the female. However, I fell in love with the fmc in this book. I tend to prefer alpha men in my books. I was hesitant to read a book about a rare female Alpha, but it worked! The h was the perfect mix. Strong and independent but not in an obnoxious way. She has the most hilarious inner monologue. In the beginning of the book it was a little much and almost came off childish, but within a few chapters it settled into a nice comedic element to the story. While still being a tough female, she had her soft moments and learned to accept help from the H. She did make some stupid, “I’m an independent woman running head first into a bad situation just because I can”, mistakes but not enough to get on my nerves as some “tough” fmc tend to do.
I like the group of guys the author has put together. We don’t know a lot about them and who the fmc will end up with but I’m interested to learn more. They are all very different and seem to have interesting back stories of their own. I enjoyed the rotating POV. I don’t want to spoil things with the reasons why, but Shadow/Finn/Todd is one of the most interesting characters I’ve seen in a long time. I’m really excited to see how that dynamic works going forward.
It terms of steam level it was pretty low. Only like 1 and a half sex scenes and they didn’t start until like 80% into the book. I didn’t mind this. I don’t need sex scenes to be a constant thing in books. I much prefer the build up. It wouldn’t have made sense earlier in the story so I am glad the author didn’t sacrifice the story line or do that annoying move of putting a sex scene in a dream to force it into the book.
It was an overall a quick and easy read. I feel like not a lot happened in this first book and the fight scenes got a little repetitive, but I also wasn’t bored. I am willing to commit to reading on with this series, but I hope the author has enough books planned to do real justice to the world and characters she has started building.

Will not be continuing with the series.
Apart from the first instance where Briar actually saves herself, all the other scenarios in the book have involved her being saved by the guys.
The protagonist is a vegetarian? Great. Explain this once. Not over and over again and in extended detail in each scene where she had to eat.
Jace being called Froggy just didn't do it for me.
Oh, there is only one sex scene in the book, it is towards the end and doesn't really live up to all the scenes foreplay that has been done before.
It felt like wasted plot. It seemed the more the Alphas got into the mix, the more Briar's badassery died.

Ok read
Ok read, I liked how it started out, and I found myself cracking up with the whole sid thing. Briar seemed so strong in the beginning but some how seemed to become a whole different character the further you read on. it was almost a damsels in distress and I didn't like it. The running from the king was pretty much the entire read and I really wished for more getting to know her men. Will read next book

What a ride! This book is great, I love The vampire! Such cool name and Nick... The sexy Necromancer... Omg yes! The whole story is so intense and full of action. You see part of their past and it helps understanding why they are like they are. Shadow... I can't wait to read more about him. I hope the catch Gavriel!

Bloody Escape
Briar is a rare alpha female and she is on the run. Trying to keep a low profile doesn't help. Alpha men want her or want to kill her. Its mentioned that meteors fell and caused people to merge with animals but there isn't much backstory. I look forward to getting more answers in book 2!

I loved reading this book. I fell in love with the main character, Briar, right off the bat. Her running commentary through the book makes her a girl after my own heart. I enjoyed seeing the world-building take place in book one as character by character, we are introduced to her slowly growing harem. I can't wait for book two!

I really enjoyed this book. I love the idea of alpha female. Half the joy of this book was waiting to find out about Sid and it truly made me laugh. Can't wait for the next book.

Great start to a new series!
I received this book as an ARC, in exchange for an honest review.
A “vampire”, seer, and necromancer walk into an inn...
I loved everything about Briar, she’s a tough cookie. She’s also a bit stabby, but with a good reason! It was nice to see that mental health, and trauma were addressed. It is a slow burn, but when the sparks fly; a fire rages. I really liked the world that was created, and character building as well. Each person had a back story, and it tied in wonderfully with each personality. I will say, Sid is one of my favorite parts of this story. Even with his prickly exterior, he stole my little black heart. I can’t wait for book two!

Enjoyable read, minus the reverse harem vibes
In its current state, I would say this book is an enjoyable read. Reading this book didn't bore me, although it certainly could use a little more polishing.
This novel starts out with reverse harem vibes, but it has the potential to be so much more and can delve into more specific topics. This is a story told from multiple points of view, which is something I really enjoy. However, while Briar and Shadow were close to being fully developed characters, the others left me hanging a little.
What I liked in this book was the depiction of mental illness with Briar's trauma. I also loved to read about neurodivergent characters. Shadow has a personality disorder, and it was something new and beautifully written. This novel delves into PTSD while combining found-family tropes.
Rushy romance and lack of world-building
The downsides I found are the lack of world-building and missing explanations regarding the magic system and the imprint/soulmate trope. The romance bits felt rushed and the wobbly structure of the narrative, combined with the lack of background for the villain, had me wondering what exactly was at stake here.
But truthfully, this is a novel that raises good points on some social structures and has the potential to become a series featuring polyamorous characters, so I'm looking forward to seeing how the author will polish her voice. It's a niche that could use more literature.
