Scotland 1811 "Gavin Davidson had never attended a house party before. He hoped never to again." He was a constable in the City of Glasgow Police. Upstanding and going straight by the rules. He'd only gone to the party to catch a criminal. He abhorred dishonesty.
She on the other hand was all that he was not! Deceptive, a thief and liar. Gavin knew it the minute he met her. Unfortunately sparks flew at their first contact. Kate Mitchell was not who she seemed and Gavin knew it. What was her agenda?
A nonstop stop adventure, with amazing characters, as Lori is so famous for... keeping us guessing until the end. Loved it!
GREAT READ! To Save a Highland Sinner by Lori Ann Bailey is book 3 in the Wicked Highland Misfits series and I am so enjoying this series. Though in a series this book can be read as a standalone. This original story give you the true feeling on what it was like back in the 1800s where life for the commoner was a hard type of life especially if you were and orphan. Though this tail is a sad one I found it very well written and original. It a good reminder of those times back in history and how far we have come today. This story has a loner, a constable, a deadly scheme, rescue, investigation, claustrophobia, kidnapped, caring for children, pure evil, a dark side, a house party, not being who you say you are, new friends and love. I am highly recommending this book.
**This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.
The third book in the Wicked Highland Misfits series a story that kept me turning pages. Orphan and street kid Kate Mitchell and Highland constable Gavin Davidson's story of suspense, drama, danger, some very sick villains, lies, and romance. A story that was well worth reading, I would recommend. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was my favorite of the series so far. Gavin is a constable who sees the world in black and white, right or wrong. He hates liars and he is on a case to put some bad people in jail. Kate learned very young that to tell the truth gets you in a heap of trouble. But her adoptive family means everything to her so she will do the biggest con yet to save her Camelot. From the moment they meet at a house party, sparks fly and while both know the other can ruin them, their only hope is to trust in each other. I think that what Kate endured in this story would break most people. Such a good story.
This was SO good, I'm absolutely loving this series! The Highland misfits who live or have lived at Camelot each have their story to tell and Lori Ann Bailey is doing a fine job of doing so. This is Kate and Gavin's story so be prepared to not want to put the book down, theirs is quite the incredible tale! Not only do you get a story filled with danger, secrets and mystery, you also get to watch two people fall hopelessly in love, no matter how such a thing shouldn't happen between them.
I loved Kate and Gavin's characters, both so strong and yet have heartbreaking secrets that have made them what they are today. Both are in search of revenge and although nothing comes easy, both are determined to see the "bad guys" get their just reward!! It was also fun to see characters from the previous books make appearances:)
Very well written and so many scenes had me on the edge of my seat while others had me giggling. And oh yes, how I'd love to be watching Gavin running around the pond every morning!! lol
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
To Save a Highland Sinner (Wicked Highland Misfits, #3) by Lori Ann Bailey Give me a break...I am only allowed to give this 5 stars? I am so invested in this series and every book is better than the last. I love the way Lori intertwines the stories and how we find out more about the group at Camelot in each one. This is Kate and Gavin's story and it keep me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Wonderful characters, horrid evil men, angst, terror, along with laughter, tears (both kinds), mystery, and steamy stuff to get us to a wonderful HEA and leaving us wanting more. Reasons I enjoyed this book: Tragic Romantic Wonderful characters Funny Tear-jerker Great world building Easy-to-read Scary Entertaining Action-packed Happily Ever After Unpredictable Steamy Haunting Page-turner

Will their secrets keep them apart ...
This book brings closure to a background plot that began in the first book. Kate was the mysterious sibling, the impersonator, the one I never knew who she really was, so this book offers the needed insight about her, and why her last scheme is so important. Kate and Gavin use the weapon they were given by life to make their way in it. Gavin has been rescued by a kind family which enforced his need for justice, from a tragic event, he angled his life to bring justice for those who have no voice to be heard and no one to fight for them. Why he can not abide lies and from his first encounter with Kate, he senses she is hiding something as he already knows she can not be whom she says she is. Yet he can’t shake her out of his system, he is drawn to the woman he has caught a glimpse prior to their first rencontre. Kate is a survivor, a kid left behind, unwanted. Each ordeal she faces taught her she can not let her true self be known, she must keep her real thoughts safe, thus she portrays everyone except herself. She is so afraid to be once more abandoned, she flees before anyone can get close to her, she never let someone come too near. Even with her assembled family of siblings. But for them, she will do anything, and because she believes she was the cause to more harm, she wants to right the wrong she thinks she had brought at their door.
Together they will have a long journey as both are wary of the other, unable to trust fully thus keeping their true agenda hidden. But when circumstances reunite them, they might have no other choice than to rely on the other, even if they struggle to believe there can be more for them than this temporary alliance. A wonderful tale of broken souls bind by fate and past pains. 5 stars

I have been granted an advance copy by the author, here is my true and unbiased opinion.
Kate Mitchell was abandoned as a child & brought up by Will but now her adopted family is on the verge of losing Camelot, their home in Aberdeen. So she plans to swindle the abusive, perverse landlord & she attends a house party to put her plan into action. Gavin Davidson has dedicated his life to finding justice for neglected and abused children. A constable in Glasgow, he despises deception in any form. When his current case takes him to a gathering at a country estate, he finds an enticing woman pretending to be someone she is not. This is the third book in the series which revolves around the inhabitants of Camelot, it could be read on its own but seriously when a series is this good I’d recommend reading from the start. Very well written with wonderful characters & a story that gradually increases in pace until it’s breath taking. I liked both Kate & Gavin at the start & thought this was going to be a good romance with misunderstandings but boy was I wrong, gradually both Kate & Gavin's childhoods were revealed as were the reasons the pair of them, unknown to each other, were chasing the same evil men. Then the pace kicked up & then I not only grew to love both of them but I was totally drawn in & taken on a plethora of emotions from crying to horror to terror. I loved how they both opened up to each other & especially Kate learned to trust. The road to their HEA was difficult & made for a first class read My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
This is the 3rd book in the highland Misfits series which just keeps getting better and better This books holds you till the last page i couldn't put it down the interaction between the characters is intense. Kate Mitchell was brought up by William after she was abandoned as a child. After she rescues two children from a wicked man who was going to abuse them she took them to William who took them in with her children that he been left on the streets. Kate discovers that the man she rescued them from and their father plan to evict them so she comes up with a plan to save their home this involves getting an invitation to the home of Lord Stonehaven and pretending to be wealthy but Gavin Davidson a policeman is also at the house party to get information and arresting Magnus Fordyce and his son Thomas Gavin sees through Kate right away and watches her carefully to see what she is up to Kate realises he is on to her but is determined to through with her plan However both feel very strong feelings towards the other Can they have a happy ending fread gthe book to find out
I love this series, and the stories just keep getting better and better. Kate has been an enigma throughout the first two books, as she tends to come and go. We find out why in this book. Gavin is a constable who is working a case that has led him to the same house party that Kate is attending. Naturally, they are both there concerning the same people....Gavin to gather evidence, Kate to run a con. Once they cross paths it becomes a game of cat and mouse that ends in fireworks. This author does such a great job portraying emotion that you can feel Gavin’s anger and Kate’s fear, heartache and determination. This story also gives us a little teaser regarding the early days of Will, the King of the Streets, and Drostan, the King of the Docks. Once again, you will find yourself invested in the characters and their lives, as one learns to trust and the other learns that life is not all black and white. You won’t be able to put it down.

To Save A Highland Sinner is book three in Bailey’s new Wicked Highland Misfit’s series. This book’s story is intertwined with book one, To Have A Highland Thief. Although, it truly can be read as a stand-alone work. I enjoyed getting to know Gavin Davidson and Kate Mitchell. I thought the characters were well developed and complex. The pace is brisk and kept me reading to the end. There are several steamy passages. “Her breath caught. ‘Ye are so lovely.’ His gaze penetrated hers, burning hot with a yearning that matched her own. The hand in hers let go and curled around her side. He pulled her flush to his tight frame, and she nearly moaned as tension wound tight in her body, recognizing the need in his.” Well done!
A must-read. A deceiver and a constable meet at a house party and sparks they do fly. Kate Mitchell has had a hard life and does what she must to survive if that means a lie or two so be it. Gavin Davidson on the other hand hates deception and wants justice for those who have been hurt. The author has written two brilliant characters strong in so many ways yet both have bruised souls. The book has a great mix of drama and humor this is really an awesome book and I highly recommend it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
I have read the other books in this series and enjoyed them all. I think this was the best one and hate to see this series end. There were great characters, romance and intrigue. The ending was great.

Kate Mitchell was one of the children who lived in Camelot and went by many names as that is what a woman in her profession does as she was simply a con artist. A woman of many different disguises as well as names and a sweet talker to and the best fibber in Aberdeen! Does that make her a bad person, con artist or just a survivor? It is not easy for a child living on the streets! That is the readers decision after reading her story you decide, perhaps a little background information might help.
Kate was deserted as a child so she taught herself to be a few steps ahead of any type of emotions like agony, despair or even love. Basically, so she would never be hurt ever again or feel any type of grief or sadness as well. The one person who saves Kate is Will Douglas, known as the King of the streets! He is the leader of their family of orphans where they live in an apartment they compassionaly call Camelot. They consider themselves a family and watch out for each other, Kate considers Will her real brother-maybe not through blood but as much as anyone else’s biological brother. Now unfortunately due to a big mistake she made with their landlord they might lose Camelot and it is all Kate’s fault!
Now Kate is determined to fix her mistake, now she has a new mark at a house party in the country. Unfortunately, Gavin Davidson who is also attending this house party for reasons closer to home than Kate realizes! Gavin is a lawman who can see right through Kate’s deception and lies! Beside having the bonniest face he ever saw with a body to match, she is very good at deception he has to give her credit where credit is due. Yet she can’t fool him as she does everyone else, except he is very attracted to her which is very unusual for him in his line of work. Gavin can also tell the attraction is mutual, but also feels this woman with the false name represents everything he hates, being a big liar who takes advantage of innocent people. He also knows the name she is assuming is the name of one a twelve year old orphan, Allison Reid, living at Camelot. Of course he does not know Kate’s story, as she had been away when he collected the information on her Camelot family, yet Gavin has a story of his own.
Note: Like Kate this reader is also very claustrophobic, as I was almost crushed to death as teenager so I do understand this phobia more than most. Again let the reader decide if Gavin Davidson the constable is a friend or a foe?
Gavin Davidson had been horribly deceived by his own parents as a child. Now his lifelong dream is to save every abused and neglected child in the city. One of the people he is investigating and wants to arrest is the “King of the Streets” himself, William (Will) Douglas! He plans on ferreting every secret out of Kate no matter what name she uses. Kate knows she needs to stay out of Gavin’s way, normally she would of left the party because of this lawman, yet she is both intrigued with a bit of fear. Plus it is vital she attend this party so her family doesn’t end up on the streets! However, she had no idea her brother Will had been one of Gavins targets! Yet Will is not the reason this lawman is attending his first house party for the rich and titled. It is because of Thomas Fordice, a pedophile that Kate also wants revenge and needs to con her landlord Magnus Fordice to save Camelot,
Is there a chance for these Kate and Gavin to join or will mistrust and fabrication just ruin any chance for a real relationship? Will these two open their closed hearts and give something real and lasting a chance? As both Kate and Gavin are a bit broken and need each other to open and heal their cold hearts, Plus of course there are dark outside forces that could ruin everything they are building. The Camelot brother who saved Kate and she will protect and put first no matter what. Shall the black hearted pedophile who harms children get the ending he deserves or will he just go on harming children and putting the Camelot family out on the street? I definitely recommend this riveting action packed story readers won’t be able to put down!
Another fabulous riveting Wicked Highland Misfit’s adventure that I absolutely loved. Again the unforgettable characters are absolutely awe-inspiring! I have loved each book in this series from start to finish. Bravo again Ms. Bailey for writing another phenomenal read I could not put down. Definitely have some Kleenex with you with this one, as it is an emotional but beautiful read! I highly recommend this book and if you haven’t read the first two books in this series it’s okay you can read as a stand alone book too.
Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy from the author. I voluntarily agreed to do a fair review and blog. All thoughts, ideas and words are my own.
To Save a Highland Sinner by Lori Ann Bailey is a well written tale of two people with the common goal of protecting the innocent orphans living on the streets, Gavin Davidson the constable because of the deception of his family and Kate Mitchell because she was deserted as a child and left to live on the streets.
Will Douglas, known as the King of the streets saved Kate from living on the streets and became her adopted brother. Her adopted family consist of other orphans taken in and cared for in an apartment they lovingly call Camelot. Because of a mistake Kate made with the landlord it looks like they may lose their beloved Camelot. Kate feels responsible and must correct her mistake.
Kate has learned to survive by deceiving others, a con artist if you will. Gavin abhors deceit of an kind. When he meets Kate he knows she is pretending to be someone she is not. He’s determined to find out who she is and why.
The story has the most wonderful characters! Gavin is a true hero in every sense of the word and Kate is a beautiful human being! I’ve enjoyed all the characters in this wonderful Camelot. They are all well written, complex and amazing people despite their circumstances. And then there are the evil villains which you will surely want to see get their just due. I love the storyline and the plot runs smoothly throughout the story. Well these two people who’ve built walls around their hearts and wronged by life and those who should have protected them find their way to one another? It was delightful to see Kate and Gavin dance around one another at the house party as each sought to accomplish their mission and avoid losing their hearts.
This is a heartwarming, heartbreaking story of those less fortunate bonded together by their pain and desire to survive against those who would take advantage of the les fortunate. It’s a story about family and love for one another. I love story is beautiful and the chemistry is just fantastic! The author does a wonderful job with the dialogue and her imagery and descriptions allow you to feel the emotions the story incites. A must read!
Thank you so much Ms. Bailey for this wonderful story of family born from love and the beautiful love story of two well deserving people.
Third part of a series and the parts keep getting better. It can be read as a stand alone story, but why bother when the previous book is also good? In this book references are made to the previous book and vice versa, Gavin and Kate are at the same house party and unknowingly to each other await the arrival of the same other guests, both because they still have a bill to settle with these guests. As the story progresses, it becomes clear what the motives of Gavin and Kate are. They also grow closer despite their differences: Gavin a constables who doesn’t compromise and Kate a golden hearted criminal from the Camelot family. After the last book I did not expect to find a hero I liked even better, but I think Gavin, sigh, is fantastic. Kate is also a character that you can love. Likeable other characters. Good writing style and structure, written smoothly, romantic, exiting, in short, a winner
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I enjoyed this historical romance story with the two main characters that were Kate Mitchell and Gavin Davidson. And also that rest of the characters to.
Kate Mitchell was abandoned as a child when she was young. She has survived by deceiving others. By deceiving others she might have endangered the only people that have been like family to her. To fix this she has came up with a solution but there might be a little problem with a intriguing Highland constable.
Gavin Davidson parents betrayed him and his younger brother by leaving them. This has hardened his heart and all that he wants in life is to have justice for children that have been neglected and abused. His current case has took him to a country estate. Were he meet a woman that is pretending to be someone that she not.
This was fun to read with all that happened within the story. It had me laughing a lot throughout it. There is also kind of a mystery within.
I received a complimentary copy via author. This is my honest unbiased opinion.
Kate needs to make amends to her adopted family so that they don't suffer the consequences of her actions, so she attends this fancy party under an alias but Gavin knows what's up and plans to keep a keen eye on her. This was a really engaging story and the characters were all well done. It was very interesting seeing two people who were both wary of each other slowly come to fall in love after discovering their real intentions.
A constable and a con-artist meet at a house party. What could be more entertaining than watching these two dance around each other? Gavin and Kate both find themselves at the house party where they have more reasons to mistrust each other than to fall in love, but somehow, they manage to do just that. Secrets, danger, and romance. A good story all around.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Kate is determine to save her family at Camelot. She has a plan and will stop at nothing to make it happen. Gavin is a lawman through and through. He is also determine to solve his case. The suspense builds and it is so exciting and I could not put it down.
Loved Kate and Gavin’s story. It was fast paced and included loves, deceit, treachery and excitement. Love story and mystery all rolled into one. Makes you want read more of the Camelot families lives.
