After the unexpected passionate whirlwind with Noah, Haru is looking forward to having a four-day vacation and spending quality time with the brothers and their friends on St. Joseph Island. Problems, however, arise when Haru sees Mason being intimate with his female friend. He thinks the two are dating and doesn’t understand the stir of jealousy he feels when he sees them together.
While Haru is sorting out his feelings and poly relationship with his stepbrothers, Mason is digging into the past, leading to the cause of their parents’ deaths—a past that could destroy Haru and his relationship with all the brothers if Pandora’s box is opened.
Haru’s story is a BL (Boy's Love, Yaoi, MM) harem romance. The uke (Haru) will gain his hunky alpha men (semes) one at a time as his story progresses.
Haru’s Story (Stepbrothers BL Harem) 1 - Haru to Aiden 2 - Aiden to Haru 3 - Noah to Haru 4 - Mason to Haru 5 - Shrine Maiden (coming soon)
Bella Chan is the alter ego name of Alexia Praks for her sometimes cute and smutty, sometimes dark and twice as smutty, and sometimes fun, adventurous with a lot of magic and mayhem and thrice as smutty mm romance (Yaoi, BL).
In the romance realm, Bella thinks anything goes as long as there’s love involved—be it contemporary, historical, fantasy, paranormal, or a combination of any of these.
Apart from writing and occasionally losing herself in her own dream realm, she loves self-cultivation, is fascinated by Chinese metaphysics, and spends her spare time watching anime and TV dramas and, of course, reading books and manga.
This almost put me in a slump. I'm probably going to lower the ratings to a 2 star for books 1-3 as well. I gave them the benefit of the doubt but honestly, there's so many annoying things about these books/novellas.
For example, if you read my review for book 3, you'd know the author is very repetitive and I gave examples at the end of that review. I highlighted every time the author said "Damn, but...", "Fuck, but...", and it came up 28 times, my god.
"Damn, but the boy..." "Damn, but I could feel his..." "Damn, but he couldn't take his eyes off..." "Fuck, but the boy..."
Ughhhhh, it was hard to finish this. The titles aren't important either. Mason and Haru spend almost no time together. The titles could have been anything and it wouldn't change the story. And OH MY GOD those side characters irritated my soul.
Aiden, Noah and Mason just let everyone pulled Haru around when he was clearly uncomfortable. I'd rather an alpha male than these men who forced Haru to wear a kimono, wig, heels and makeup and take photos when he clearly didn't want to AND he was trying to hide from everyone yet they allowed a side character to drag him indoors.
I read this series because its Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage month so I wanted to read some kindle unlimited AAPI authors🤷🏾♀️🤧
I can never understand why these authors can't write a proper poly relationship. Since Aiden was first, he by default always gets Haru's attention. And then suddenly Mason gets Haru's attention beginning with his jealousy. It makes me wonder why they even bother to write Noah in. I feel bad for the guy. Sure he's hot headed and forceful with Haru but it's not like Haru's all that nice back to him either. Haru never shows any romantic affections towards him like he did with Aiden and Mason. Nor did they ever have any one on one moment other than the 2 days they had alone before everyone else showed up (which only amounted to sex). Overall, there's too much inequality between the three lovers smh. The relationship with Noah and Mason honestly seems forced.

Kept going with this series in the hope that it would improve farther in, but sadly no. Nice core story concept that is let down by immature writing, disappointingly unrealistic vocabulary, lack of characterisation, and poor grasp of narrative.
I also am very opposed to the romanticising of such disturbingly manipulative behaviour as is presented by most characters. No should mean no.
This story and the world of Haru keeps getting better. I am looking forward to the mythology of the Shrine Maden and the Guardians developing and the family working as one with the Japanese uncle. This series has more depth and detail than just a hot story, I truly hope to see it grow into a book 6 even.
Cherry blossom time and Haru and his family, friends, and whatever the heck Elizabeth is wind up vacationing on a lovely island with new friends. More glimpses of the family's back story are given, and Mason's long game becomes much shorter. Recommend!
I love the storyline for the whole series. However, the writing is poor and the word no should mean no. Always. Also most of this book has to do with Aiden and Noah, which was a bummer since I expected Mason to have more time with Haru.
I really liked that all four brothers have their own pov. You can get exactly what is going on in their heads ...i cant wait for the next one let it be soon pls😚😚😚😚
