DC Jake Tanner #3

The Confession

Rate this book
DC Jake Tanner thought he'd put the turmoil of the case that nearly killed him behind him. He was wrong.
When Danny Cipriano’s body is discovered buried in a concrete tomb, Jake's wounds are reopened.

But one thing quickly becomes clear. The former leader of The Crimsons knew too much. And somebody wanted him silenced. For good.

The only problem is, Jake knows who.

As the case begins to unravel, he realises the tentacles of police corruption spread far and wide, and the financial gains are greater than he imagined.

With finances of his own beginning to get out of control, and debt levels quickly rising, will Jake be tempted to tread the path he promised never to take? Or will he betray the ones he once thought he could trust even though, in this industry, knowing things can get you killed?

The DC Jake Tanner CID Case Series by Jack Probyn is a tense crime thriller series full of hooks and twists that will leave you guessing to the end. If you like Luther and Line Of Duty, you’ll love this series that combines tension, gripping plots, and police corruption.

I’m Jack Probyn, and I write murder mysteries and crime thrillers set in England. I studied Creative Writing at the University of Surrey and have always been fascinated by storytelling, particularly the dark and twisty kind.

I’m the author of the DC Jake Tanner series and the DS Tomek Bowen series, both packed with suspense, mystery, and unexpected twists. When I’m not writing, I enjoy building LEGO, solving sudoku puzzles, and occasionally going snowboarding. I live in England with my partner and our British Shorthair cat, Tommy.

Whew!! A thriller you can Not tear your eyes from as things happen every moment! Jake Tanner finds himself being congratulated by his team...He has made detective, and they all seem to pull him in a little closer..Even though he is watching them..Aware of some unexplained moves by certain members, he allows himself a moment of celebration..But soon, the past is all over him again...As Danny Cipriano's body is found buried in concrete...Someone is cleaning up...Just how far does this extend to his 'team'...
The third book in the Jake Tanner Crime Thrillers Series is suspenseful and intriguing from the start!! The police corruption is spreading, and Jake knows he needs help to stop it... He makes a phone call, but will this bring help...Or increase the fear deep inside...Especially as his family's finances are low and debt rising everyday! What if his team find out...Sure will be an easy reason to pull him closer to their side, with money no object...Can Jake finally wind up the whole bad bunch...And even then...There Is ALWAYS Some One Else Out There...
A fabulous 5 STAR story that All who enjoy crime stories should be ready to grab 12/01/20!!!

This book was previously published as The Confession.

Continuing my meander through the Jake Tanner back catalogue, I have reached book 3.

Jake is now a detective & feels as though things are on the up but when Danny Cipriano’s body is discovered, he knows it’s false hope. Corruption has infiltrated his team but how far does the web stretch? Who can help & are they trustworthy? Jake doesn’t know which way to turn & there’s the dilemma.

The author really hit his stride with this book; I love Line of Duty & this is it in written form. I could feel Jake’s pain at the decisions he needed to make & I can’t wait to read the fourth instalment.

Another good plot, so much going on, so many aspects to the story you almost need a notebook to keep track of whose who! The walls start to come tumbling down but there’s more to come in the following books in the series.

The Cadre (4) I have to say this series gets better and better. It’s like reading Line of Duty! The bent cops keep multiplying but Jake never deviates from his desire to see them all behind bars.

This is the 3rd book in the Jake Tanner series and oh my!!! Full of corruption and intrigue. After being summoned to a body at the Olympic Park Jake finds out it’s one of the members of the Crimson gang, who he was responsible for putting away! How and why was he murdered in witness protection and who got to him! Jake’s colleagues are soon putting him under duress to join their corrupt little band and Jake goes along with it, but has a plan. A fantastic read

A good read. You really get to know the characters, with all their flaws and foibles! At times it felt a little disjointed and drawn out, but that said, it was well worth reading. The ending, as with all Jack's books, was exciting with a twist.

The third book in the Jake Tanner series sees him working to expose the bent cops who won’t be able to get away with it forever. The story moves along quickly with lots going on, and finishes with an unexpected twist to the tale.

Very interesting…

… book. Swiftly and easily accessible to imaginative readers.
Also, very detailed as for a knowledge of day-to-day life (what could be look like, though) of ordinary people (with no dividends in occupational safety:)).
Like it a lot, recommend reading too.

This 'sort of' brings the first three books to a conclusion. Somehow, I suspect something will come back to haunt Jake. These books are easy to read, engaging, and worth anyone's reading time.

A rather sordid adventure. These books puts me in mind of Line of Duty. Entertaining and gritty.

I loved it. Jake Tanner is back and this time he is trying to avoid becoming a cop on the take. He comes up against some of the people who he thought of as friends. As the bodies start piling up, Jake finds it harder and harder to believe what his friends are capable of. This non-stop action thriller will keep you turning the pages until the end. I would highly recommend it. I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest review.

Another winner from Jack Probyn. Jake Tanner continues his “fight” against the corruption of his peers, taking a dangerous step that could jeopardize his safety, as well as his family’s. As the deaths continue to pile up, the intensity increases!

Will he succeed in this latest installment of the Tanner series? Time, and your reading, will tell.

I highly recommend this book, as well as the others in the series if you’ve yet to read them.

WOW! Once again Jack has produced a Superb storyline, that you're unable to put down. There's more enthralling encounters on each page. They do their best to turn out favourite policeman into a corrupt cop just like them but he gives his all, even risking his life, his marriage, his everything to bring them all to justice. An incredible book...A Must Read

Danny Cipriano is found dead on a construction site. Jake Tanner is now a detective and has discovered police taking money. He wants to take them down, but has to pretend to take money also. A fast paced novel to get your heart racing.
