Eleanor Harvey is being victimized at every turn. When Sergeants Marshall and Parks are put on her case, she is hopeful that the person terrorizing her will be arrested and will pay for the heinous crimes. But as things escalate, chance of that happening dwindles away. As the body count rises, Eleanor begins to lose faith in those who are supposed to protect her. Sergeant Richard Marshall, or “Dick” as he is known by his friends, is a detective for the Boston Police Department. A survivor of a traumatic childhood, Dick hides his dark past by diving head first into his work. He has one stipulation though; he will not work with a woman. When his personal life begins to affect his professional one, his superior decides he needs to work with a partner for a while, at least until his problems resolve themselves. Unfortunately, his new partner is a woman. Sergeant Eva Parks transfers to Boston PD from Houston, and from the moment she lays eyes on her new partner, she’s smitten. Good looks only go so far though, and this man is definitely true to his name, a grade A Dick. When they are thrust head first into a stalking case turned murder investigation, Parks has to see through what the evidence is telling her and find out what is really going on. As the monster is revealed, everything you thought you knew from Eleanor’s story will be turned on its head, and you’ll come to realize, we are all strangers in the end.
At first I was curious how Candace was going to turn the first book into a trilogy since it seemed like a cut and dry story. Then I read this book and everything changed. I am still reeling from the revelations in Stranger Still. I feel like the rug has been pulled right out from under my feet and I enjoyed every minute of it. This is a must read.
In book 1, Strangers, we met Eleanor, her husband, Jack, and her kids. I could of swore Jack was guilty of being her stalker. However, with this book, we learn the truth. One I never would of thought. Amazing read and maybe a reality into how a killer really thinks. Made me think. Excellent read and can't wait for the next!!!
Blown away again!! This story still kept me guessing as to how things were going to end, even though it's the same story told from a different POV. I could not put it down and read it in one sitting. I was in suspense the entire time. So excited to see what happens next!! This series is a must read!
Let me just say this... I never had a book that made my heart race like this series!! I am constantly on the edge of my seat, my palms get sweaty and i can hear my heart beating rapidly! Just... omg.
This installment is in a different POV than the first. You get to see what happened in the first book through the killer's and I could not handle it.
To find out what caused Marshall to be the way he is and how manipulative he can be... just wow.
The description in these books is beyond perfect. The author does an incredible job at making you feel you are experiencing what the characters are. Candace is amazing to read and this series sends you on the wildest ride you have been on! Highly recommend!!!

This book began slowly, in my opinion. However, it picked up and kept me captivated. Allura was an amazingly strong woman! She has grit and strength that I believe all woman find in themselves when they have to. I loved that Joey was there for her! You never know where love is going to come from!
It was crazy how Marshall found out about Allura/Karma. Slow start, but an amazing finish. I will try to find the location and send it to you. I wasn’t feeling it at first, not my specific genre, but now I’m so excited to have read it.
I was glued to this book and there was no putting it down no matter what. It moves along at a great pace which made for a thrilling read. The characters are so real that you feel as though you are there with them, experiencing what they are feeling and going through. the story will grab you and keep you reading till you reach the end. this book is a must read and must be on your list for 2021. You will not be sorry that you read it.
Enjoyed the book! Followed it up directly after reading book 1 Strangers. Somewhat frustrating with much of the book repeating the same parts/verbiage of book 1. This book was told from the view from a different person in the story but it could have eliminated the repeated story or possibly made one book vs two. Enjoyed it enough to begin book 3 immediately tho. Definitely worth reading the series. Great author & imagination!
So I loved this. Stranger as told from the perspective of the Marshall and Parks, the Sergeant's working the case turns the whole Strangers story on its head. Candace Adams is such a talented author who makes you feel the characters emotions.
This story is about Sergeant (Dick) Marshall. He has things going on nobody knows not even his partner. He is not who he appears to be. This story will keep you reading and has a shocking ending.
Trigger warning! Extremely explicit misogyny, pure hatred for women in the most violent way.
Dick Marshall is the homicide detective who was in charge of the stalking case in the first Strangers book. In this sequel mostly written in Marshall’s cringey pov, we see the true facts of the crime. Marshall is the stalker and we see it played out in sync with the first book. It was very difficult to read, but I plogged ahead waiting to see this guy’s downfall.
What was so disheartening for me was the strong female detective Parks portrayed smart in the first book , was mangled in the second as the reader is subjected to her sexual attraction to Marshall in the second. This felt completely out of character for her and I cringed as she was brought down to this level when she should have been hitting this guy square in the jaw every damn time they worked together.
This book made me feel threatened, and not in a good “OMG Thriller” kind of way. I actually feel betrayed by this female author- I mean you can make a point but this was fucking too much.
