Psychokinetic teen Phaedra Thorne is back! Her life consists of balancing her high school and college courses while trying to keep the peace between her older brother Kurt and little sister Nadia. On top of that, their schizophrenic and psychokinetic mom remains locked away in the attic. Believe it or not, things are better than they have ever been. Those "better times" go up in flames when the only sanctuary the Thornes have ever known--their home--is burnt to the ground. With Kurt severely injured and their mother missing, Phae and Nadia have been left in the hands of the supernatural foster care system. Just as the Thorne sisters start to settle in with her temporary family, a blast from their horrific past comes to their foreboding rescue. Phae has good reason to be apprehensive about the new arrangements, considering many supernaturals want to buy the burnt out husk of a home and have taken a liking to her psychokinesis and Nadia's uncanny prowess. There's only one thing Phae can do. Find their mother.Having been kidnapped, assaulted, and sold to the highest bidder, Phae will have to learn how to trust her estranged family, if she has any hopes of saving the immediate one she loves.

Paranormal author Marcia Colette is always hard at work on her next novel...assuming her day job doesn't get in the way.

Ever since her first book HALF BREED opened to fantastic reviews and became a Fictionwise Bestseller, she hasn't looked back. She can't write a story unless there are paranormal aspects or a certain level of creepiness involved. When not crafting novels with twisted plots and supernatural thrills, she's either diving into her massive DVD collection or working out on her elliptical. Marcia is a member of the Horror Writers Association, Paranormal Mystery Writers, and Infinite Worlds of Fantasy Authors.

The best place to find her is on her blog where she loves connecting with readers and other writers. Conferences/conventions where sci-fi, fantasy, and horror reign supreme are a good bet, too, along with the occasional romance conference.

I am ne to this author, and must admit, I was completely drawn to this book, by the blurb, so I haven’t read the first book. I still was able to thoroughly enjoy, understand and be part of this story. It definitely takes on some very deep (some dark) themes, and does so with tact and a great level of detail and personal touches. I loved that and felt it really made me closer to the characters.

It is written so well and flows nicely. From start to finish, I rally felt connected to the story and wanted to see where it led. I liked the way the author built up the world round them, and really brought it to life, as well as truly giving the characters personality and depth. All of this added together to make a really stunning book.

The story is unique and rally interesting. It is definitely a different take on the abilities they have, compared to other YA styled rads, which was nice. It is definitely a book I would have loved, as a teen, and still loved today.

Overall, and excellent book and one I very highly recommend.

So I thought I had already found a book that was the best of the best of reading this year... At least I did until I read this book.. 2020 has been a wild year to say the least, and this book fit right in!. Well written page turner! This book touches on a lot of different things. It's part of a series but yet you can read this as a stand alone or at least it feels like you can. This book doesn't miss a beat! If you haven't read this book yet I highly recommend you do!

Silent Scream is a wild ride. I'll start of by saying I haven't read book one of the series - yet. But I had no problems diving right into Phaedra's world. There are some heavy themes covered in this book, and is definitely not something I'd pick up to escape for a few hours into a fun fantasy world. That said, I really enjoyed this book. If you're looking to get sucked into a world where the paranormal invades the everyday, and thrills are mixed with twists, then you'll absolutely love this book. I'm definitely going to have to pick up book one!
