This is the first boxset of the Daughters of the Warlock series and covers the first trilogy, which is Ava’s story. It includes the books, Sister’s of the Coven; Hiding from the Coven; and Heir of the Coven. Three sisters, Ava, Bella and Courtney, have been raised in a private realm with their mother Genevieve Melfi. The story starts as their mother is on her deathbed and the changes that occur after her death. Their mother had taught them about their magic, but not much about the Magic Realm she came from, nor much about their father, the High Warlock of the Magical Realm. Ava is the eldest of the three sisters and has always wanted to find her father and learn more about him. Their mother told her that it was far too dangerous and that they could never tell anyone that the High Warlock was their father. The Council that rules the magic realm would send assassins to kill them, for threatening their way of life and the laws they have made.
A High Warlock can only have one child, a son, from his first and only wife! A wife that is chosen for them by the Council. Matlock, the current High Warlock, and their father, was in love with their mother, but she wasn’t deemed suitable by the Council and they had an arranged marriage sorted out for him, but that marriage had no children. The girls have been kept a secret and their mother used up all of her magic, keeping this private realm and everything in it, built and maintained by her magic, probably leading to her premature death. As soon as their mother dies, everything they have and know disappears into dust, and they have to build a new home, with their magic, and start again. Ava is determined to find their father and leaves as soon as her sisters are all set up. She wants to know what the magic realm is like and more importantly, find her father and get to know him.
They have an aunt Alison, a witch who was their mother’s good friend in the magic realm and came with her to the human realm when she left, and who has settled in the human world ever since. She is the one person their mother told them they could trust. Ava travels to her home and asks for help to find a portal into the magic realm. There she is given the name of a friend to look for, who can help her in the magic realm. Her journey to her father’s realm is fairly easy, but everything is new to her. A request to meet the High Warlock is granted, on mention of her mother’s name. Her father’s bodyguard, Tavlor, part fae, part warlock, is classed by many as a crossbreed, a worthless mongrel and she feels an intense and unexpected attraction to him. She is going to be tested to find her place in the realm and to discover her powers, which may prove to be quite a surprise for the Council! She has a long way to go to be accepted in the magic realm and to discover how things work there, especially once her actual identity as the High Warlock’s illegitimate daughter is discovered. Finally meeting her father is a dangerous step and leads her into the attention of the Council, who imprison her and sentence her to death immediately! She manages to force a trial and with the help of a book her sister Bella had kept of their mother’s, a loophole is found in the Council’s rules.
She now has a target on her back, but she is a strong person, from both her mother and father’s parentage and her magical powers. She is shown a lot about how the warlocks and witches rule over the other beings, such as shifters and fae, and even brings new discoveries to her own father, showing how the Council have been mistreating these other realms and keeping them under their cruel control. She has a lot of ideas for change and will only be able to do that if she is proclaimed the rightful heir of the High Warlock and doing so will also bring her a lot of enemies and members of the Council, who will be unwilling to allow her to rule, make any changes to their way of life or even stay alive! A really good first trilogy and boxset for this series, which shows a very determined young woman, taking the bull by the horns and doing exactly what she has wanted to do for most of her life. There is loss, magic, love, treachery and so much more, with lots of action and a determined daughter really just wanting to know more about her father! She has left two sisters back at the only home they have ever known, and their stories will follow in the next trilogy or boxset. I loved reading each of the books in this series and have also read and reviewed them separately, but loved coming back to them and reading it all over again, from the beginning. Lots to look forward to as Courtney and Bella’s stories are told, and you still get to hear about Ava, Tavlor and Matlock as well. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future. I have loved Ava's story and cant wait to read Bellas!
This was a great series when I read them separately - and it was even better to be able to re-read the three in sequence! IK would highly recommend this book!

Our heroine and her two sisters grew up in hiding, but that ends with the death of her mother. To survive, she needs to find her father, but than might also spell their doom. Talk about family issues.
This is a collection of the first three books in this urban fantasy series.
The first book takes a moment to set the stage, but that is because it is a well developed and detailed world which requires a little explanation to get the reader prepared for what comes next. After that it turns into a fast paced rollercoaster that sucks you in and won't let you. I liked the depth of the stories and our characters which really made for a solid read. The stories build nicely with each book and always leave you wanting more. Overall, I have really enjoyed this series so far and look forward to future installments.

When Ava's mother dies she leaves her two sisters to search for her father. Her father, the High Warlock doesn't know she exists. The Council has accused Ava of treason. After escaping, Ava returns with Tavlor's help to get to know her father and decide if she wants to be the Heir to the High Warlock. Ava meets Shifters and Fae on her journey to decide what to do. Her relationship with Tavlor matures. I love the attention grabbing three book box set! Looking forward to more in the series!

This was a thoroughly enjoyable trilogy. This is for the full trilogy, but I was able to read all 3 in just over a day. Ava's story is intriguing and she is a likeable fmc. The side characters are fairly good, I disliked some in the beginning, but grew to like them later (Courtney is the biggest example of this). I will absolutely read Bella's trilogy when I have a chance and if it's out yet. I would love to see what happens with her now that she has more options or will.

Ava's Coven: A paranormal urban fantasy series that you won't be able to put down. by Amelia Shaw is a wonderful box set that I have read. I loved reading this wonderful box set and I can not wait to read more from this author. I highly recommend this wonderful box set to everyone who loves reading about paranormal romance.

I thought this whole set was fantastic to read. The imaginative world crafted by the author captured my attention from the beginning. It was strife with drama and intrigue as well as mystery. Her life was turned on its head and her struggles to finally become a force to be reckoned with was filled with many twists and turns which had me glued to my seat. Great storytelling.

Nice fast paced adventure.
All Ava ever wanted was to meet her father. The High Warlock in the magic relm.
She never thought finally doing so would but a bounty on her head, nor come face to face with her future.

This first compilation of Amelia Shaw’s “Daughters of the Warlock” offers the first three books in the series in single boxed set, over 700 pages of paranormal urban fantasy romance. The series revolves around a trio of sisters with witch powers (Ava, Bella, Courtney) that – after their mother’s death – are confronted with the truth about their own father, who is a warlock.
The books, which are reminiscent of the TV “Charmed” series, have a good plot, are fast-paced and easy to read, all three sisters are good portrayed, in specially Ava (MC) is credible and relatable. The arc-story offers magic, adventure, danger, character evolution and mystery all well-wrapped into a good constructed urban fantasy verse.
The set includes “Sisters of the Coven”, “Hiding from the Coven” and “Heir to the Coven” in full-length.
