Faith Fitzgerald thought that if she got an education and became a high-powered attorney in Manhattan, maybe—just maybe—she'd gain the attention and respect of her absentee father. Considering he was the only parent she had left after her mother's suicide when Faith was just a child, she thought that's what it would take. She was wrong. What she dreamed would be glamorous and satisfying turned out to be grueling and thankless. Since she wasn't willing to play the game between the sheets, she was forced to stay in the cubicle jungle doing all the heavy lifting while the men got the credit and the rewards. Deciding she is done, Faith packs up and, with the flip of the bird to the rearview mirror, leaves New York and heads home to Colorado. She has nothing there: no job, nowhere to live, no relationship with her father. Truth is, she barely has a relationship with herself. On the drive home, she finds herself in Wynter, a tiny mountain town at the foot of the Rockies. Looking more like it belongs in a made-for-TV Christmas movie than on the map, Faith is utterly enchanted. When she tries her luck and buys a raffle ticket at Pop’s, Wynter’s charming café, her prize is far more than meets the eye—or the heart. Enter Wyatt, a feisty, sexy southerner and waitress at Pop's, who just happens to be married to a local sheriff's deputy. All is not as it appears with the All-American boy and his Georgia peach. A colorful cast of unforgettable and charming characters will teach the jaded attorney that sometimes to find yourself all you have to do is go back to the basics…and have a little Faith.

I've been a huge fan of Kim Pritekel since her fanfiction days. She never disappoints me with her romances with a little bit more. Finding Faith was undoubtedly a great book with very lovable main characters.
WARNING!!! THIS BOOK DOES CONTAIN SEXUAL ASSAULT AND ABUSE THOUGH NOT EXPLICITLY WRITTEN IT IS STILL THERE
Kim Pritekel has become one of the few authors that I look forward to reading when I have the time and the book funds. I came across this one and wasn't all that eager to read it especially when one of the MC is married and abuse plays a role. Despite that I decided why the heck not, book fund wasn't in the negatived yet for the month.
So the book is told from Faith's perspective all the way through and I believe if the author tried to do it from multiple perspectives it would fail. So Faith is a lawyer who quits her job, stops in a Hallmark kind of small town, buys a raffles, and wins more than just prize. Little does she know the prize comes with a rundown town, an abusive husband, and a beautiful red-head with a southern drawl.
That's the jist of the book. The journey Faith takes a long one and while the book moves pretty quickly, it spans over a year, I think. Like I mentioned before there is mention of abusive but nothing graphic, which I am very thankful for.
I did find a few things I felt were glossed over a bit too quickly. For example, the club nite with Trista. What happened after it? Did Cam know? Did Trista not come around anymore, I mean Faith was living with her sister? Then there's the whole abuse and why didn't the town step in?
There's more of course and some of it is just me wanting to know more. I liked the book enough and am actually gonna fully deplete my monthly book fund and get the second book in the series :-)
This was just off the scale nuts ! WTF in capital letters, blew past the reality gap and straight into the fantasy of a weird mind. 1st chapter wooed me in, but winning a house, becoming mayor and, well read it to the end. I couldn't.
I loved this book. I really enjoyed watching the run down, almost abandoned, town of Wynter change and grow. Watching the community come together to bring the town back to life again. The driving force was Wyatt, Faith, and Ogden. They worked together to give the town faith and hope once again. I felt the connection between Faith and Wyatt from the beginning. I loved watching their friendship strengthen and grow deeper. Both of them are so strong. Wyatt speech at the end was heartbreaking but also liberating. She took the power back from that asshole who tried like hell to break her and kill Faith. Faith is an amazing Mayor she brings people from all over and helps give them a purpose and a way to revitalize their town. I love them both and I’m so happy they found each other and have their beautiful family and friends to support them.

I enjoyed this book very much. I found myself rooting for the main characters and the town, if you can believe it. Love conquers all. I highly recommend this book and this author.
What a story! I feel so good having to know how this story ended. Wyatt got spunk. In the early chapters I rolled my eyes at the too good to be realistic turn out but hey; I am reading fiction. I like the author's negative depiction of both a gay and heterosexual partner... that's something a lot of LGBTQ novels don't realistically depict - that bad partners or people can be gay as well.
Are you looking for a book that will grab you right from the first page and won’t let go until the final word; leaving you out of breath and wondering, what just happened? Before you download, I must give this disclaimer: this book deals with domestic violence and sexual assault and if either (or both) are a trigger, I do not recommend reading. The small Colorado town, Wynter needed a lot of TLC and fortunately for them, Faith, who had recently left her life in NYC and was traveling to her hometown, really really needed to pee. She stopped at Pop’s Diner (in Wynter) and was bamboozled into buying food in order to gain entry into the restroom. While paying, she was coerced into buying a raffle ticket, for what? No one knew. Little did she know her life was about to change. Faith and Wyatt were incredibly written main characters and it was delightful to watch them come together. All of the supporting characters really helped to add further depth to this already multileveled book.
I had never read anything by this author and picked up Swann Song. I loved her style of writing, so I started the Wynter series. I was fascinated by this story. Faith is a burnt out attorney, practicing in NY and not getting the recognition for the hard work she's done for 11 years. She decides to quit, get in her car and drive to Colorado, where she's from. Because fate is like this, she needed to use a bathroom and ended up in a cafe in a small town on the foot of the Rockies, she meets Wyatt there. A waitress and wife to one of the law officers in the area. Faith buys a raffle ticket, months later, Wyatt calls her and says you won. No idea what she won but she comes to pick up her prize. The story takes off from there. So many obstacles but love wins. Excellent story.
Shocking descriptions of marital abuse. I have to say I normally wouldn’t read book with marital infidelity. However I gave this a chance and was deeply moved. Well worth reading. Highly recommended.
What a wonderful series of a small town being brought back to life along with its long time residents and newcomers including one story taking you back to Wynter's beginnings. The challenges are realistic causing you to shed tears while holding your breath, at times, wondering how things will turn out. And there are twists that will surprise you keeping you turning pages.
Kim Pritekel is a good storyteller who crafts captivating and compelling stories that will hold your interest until the very end. Still there are minor issues where somethings were glossed over and you're left to wonder about how things played out or how something came about but don't distract from the overall story and a few cheap political shots that have nothing to do with the story and are distracting momentarily.
Yet within, the pages are filled with complex well drawn characters overcoming overwhelming odds where the love interests are not certain they'll make it. However they're surrounded by supportive friends, on occasion family, and often newly acquired chosen family who help them.
Now that I've finished the first four books of this series, I miss the growing mountain town of Wynter, Colorado and its colorful cast of interesting, enterprising, and caring people and sure hope there will be more stories coming.
i read connected by Kim and was impressed. i really enjoyed it, so when i was looking for something new to read and this came up i thought i’d give it a go since i enjoyed her other work.
this book is not like her last book. it’s chaotic, it’s all over the place, and it’s so incredibly slow paced it’s like running through custard.
the plot of this book???? who knows. one of the characters is sexually assaulted and then it’s never brought up again or mentioned or dealt with. you’ve got infidelity. you’ve got a woman being hit over the head with a baseball bat and then randomly getting visions of her girlfriends’ husbands girlfriend???
honestly at this point if it was any other book series i would be removing the others from my tbr but because they’re connected stand alones im hoping that they’re going to get better because some of the others have really interesting sounding plots.
but yeah this one really didn’t do it for me at all.
This tale bounces between the fanciful rebuilding of a near ghost town on one hand and extreme domestic violence on the other. In between these disparate plot threads a romance develops between two women in difficult situations. The couple seems well matched and watching their relationship develop is enjoyable. That said, the melodrama is a little thick in places and detracts from the plot.
BTW it was amusing to see the town of Guffey appear as a story location. It's not normally so action packed.
This was an emotional read dealing with several challenging issues. Faith Fitzgerald, high-powered attorney not being valued or appreciated, estranged from her family (father). Faith has had enough and decides to get out and head to Colorado. On her way, she stops in Wynter and the adventure of a lifetime begins. There she meets Wyatt and a cast of secondary characters that drive the story. Although a bit farfetched, but hey that is part of storytelling. I was pulled in and enjoyed the character interaction and the charming small town of Wynter.
I read a lot of lesbian romances as I have Kindle unlimited and so often they are via that route. I do also buy books that seem to be a good read/story. I didn’t love the cover but I read the sample and was drawn in by the well written story! This book covers a lot of ground and maybe it is bc I come from a small town that I get this book but I really liked the characters, the flow and the romance. I look forward to reading more of Kim’s books!
The book cover does well to convey the remoteness of Wynter's location but FYI, there's no skiing in the story!
Faith and Wyatt are well realised characters and their story, interwoven with the rejuvenation of Wynter and interaction with the town's quirky residents made this a page-turner for me.
TW: Spousal abuse/violence is a major theme. There's also misogyny and date rape.
I really enjoyed Finding Faith. Definitely a small town makes good story. Faith and Wyatt are great main characters. Warning: some spousal abuse and domestic violence. But it’s still worth the read.
I loved this book,it sets of nice and easy but with a spring in its step, then it gets busy drawing you into the story. Then it takes off like a rocket. I was clapping at one point saying you go girl. This author is such a great story teller. Highly recommend .
When I first started to read this book I wasn’t quite sure where it was going story wise but I was soon grippped by the intertwining stories of the two MC’s and the town. The story had a depth I didn’t expect and thoroughly enjoyed. On to the next in the Wynter series.
4.5⭐️ Wynter is a special town filled with people whose stories need to be told. This is a story about coming home and finding you are where you need to be. It's a story about manipulation and bad, but inevitable, choices and finding the courage and support to change your life.
I liked the book. The narrator was good and the author was new to me. Overall there was character development and a charming town. Circumstances might be odd but it’s a book. It is more a 4.5 but all I can do is round up.
